You do know that the British-ness of tea is a myth?

They created their own tea-culture by ripping off Indians/Ceylons and Chinese of their centuries' worth of customary practice.

Its chai. Its Indian/Pakistani chai which is the real deal.

I think they introduced us the tea. There was no concept of it prior to their colonization and yes it all started in China in the first place.

In any case, British tea today > Pakistani tea.

Remember my course on Diaspora and Transnationalism? I had a reading on the history of tea and sugar for that.

Technically, the Indians/Ceylons and Chinese ought to be flabbergasted at the idea of mixing sugar in tea (since sugar is not supposed to be associated with tea, AT ALL).

They introduced in the practice of mixing sugar into tea, but the tea itself was never introduced in the subcontinent by the British.

It is a matter of dispute though, because the British don't acknowledge this, but we have gone really overboard with the milk and sugar ourselves.

I like my tea a little dark.

Of course they won't acknowledge it - why would they reveal that an integral cultural icon of Britain was infact ripped off of other cultures?

I dont mind my tea being too dark or too light. I sometimes mix in a tsp of coffee in my tea for an extra kick should I need it (for an all-nighter or sth).

Generally, doodhpatti rocks.
 
Because you're likely not to have a 6-pack. He doesn't like wimpy guys who don't do push-ups or lift weights or are just really skinny.

I'll be very frank, its not that attractive a field for study. There's minimal scope, unless you pursue it more thoroughly (do masters, perhaps phD). One of my prof keeps on telling us that we'd be lucky to land a job at starbucks with a bachelors degree in Poli-Sci. As for what it's like, its an theoretical subject - expect to read tons of papers (I should probably tell you here that I now have to wear reading glasses [the kind aunties wear] whilst studying - poli-sci made me long-sighted), write essays - as with any other humanities-based subject.

Career opportunities are usually coupled with some other skills: you need to be a good writer, then you can pursue journalism (a lot of scope for journalism). Otherwise, you can turn towards teaching (need a phD for that), or maybe become a politician yourself (you'll prolly be far better off than the current crop of politicians that we have).

Thus, I'd say by itself, a bachelors degree in Poli-Sci does not mean that much. But if you pursue it completely, then there are some decent opportunities out there..

IR! A friend of mine is doing the same, and she gets such GPAs as well. She works hard so that's also a reason :zulfiqarb

Girls are usually academically excellent when it comes to social sciences subjects like political science.

BTW, do you know of any U.S colleges offering fully funded scholarships for Masters in political science/IR?

My nazdeek ki nazaar is kharab. I need to wear glasses to read.

Its really bad for a 22 year old. Distant vision is decent though.

I read books very often. I get a new book every week from the school library.

I haven't read much of Shakespeare's works. I have read only a couple: Romeo and Juliet along with King Lear.

Roald Dahl and Charles Dickens are very good writers, too.
