That try was scored in a KO game against the number 1 side in the comp his side sneaked through to finish 8th and qualify, he secured the game with that try.

When did I deny her acting skills? I just don't like her.

Lahore is definitely better but Peshawar has it's unique flavor.

Islamabad isn't a "better" place, it's just more beautiful than KHI.
That being said KHI is a very busy and happening sort of city which is what I like

That was 96.Isb is busy.Its just that most people have to go to work at 8 every day hence the early nighters. Weekends are a blast.
 
Chota Sharif has done a lot of good work in Lahore, it doesn't even feel like a Pakistani city until you see cars going the wrong way up the road:facepalm:

I really liked the Ring Road and it was amazing to go see the Wagah ceremony, Sikhs from across the border were waving to us and we back. Patriotism at a high.
 
When you guys decide what city is the best, post a list here. I'll visit in that order.
 
I last visited Islamabad in 2006 and remember that we had to go to Pindi in order to eat at McDonalds. It's a nice quiet place ideal for retirement.
 
I feel so pathetic trying to prove Karachi is the best when I know nothing about it myself. :facepalm:
 
The best thing about Isloo is that people mind there own business.:PYou don't get stares at you back, everywhere you go.
 
I lived 10 years in Karachi and it was amazing. Especially visits to beaches and Hawkes Bay.

ISB is beautiful but boring.

Lahore is the kind of attractive that has its (minisucle) faults, but you can never, ever look away from it... :afridi
 
I may be generalizing but what's up with Pakistani's always playing the victim card? May get a lot of critcism for this but I reckon Pakistan would be a better place if there were a few more open minded people like Mamoon - minus the endless whining of course :najam
 
All walks of life - politics, cricket and general interaction with people.

I.e. It's a conspiracy against Islam/Pakistan, there always seems to be a conspiracy pop up whenever I talk to a Pakistani :facepalm:

Politics well its the cream of the politicians we have at the moment. The newer generation are much more capable, educated and driven for change.

Cricket well there is a history behind it, we've haven't caught up with the times. Same thing happened in hockey to us.

I've never met any Pakistani who plays the victim card. We are more carefree and don't really care if people like us or not.

We have our faults, no one denies that.

What you're referring to is a useful political rhetoric in appeasing the masses. Educated people see through it without an issue. More than that, you'll find local Pakistanis equally bashing their leaders as much as they claim 'its all a conspiracy.'

I won't take Mamoon as a true reflection of what Pakistan is, because he has the tendency to be extremely negative. Which distorts the picture as much as blind optimism does (No offence, Mamoon-bhai)
 
I think Mamoon tries to be extremely negative so he can drown out the majority who are delusional.

Either way, the picture remains distorted.

There's a bit of truth in the statements of whom you term "delusional." There's a bit of truth in Mamoon's POV as well.

None represent the complete picture.
 
I never said Mamoon was the model Pakistani, I just said Pakistan could do with a few more Mamoons to keep the masses in check. Most of the things Mamoon says are spot on, it's just the endless whining that annoys people.

I didn't know we were talking about a "model Pakistani." Either way, you're changing the topics:

1) As an individual: Mamoon is not reflective of a true Pakistani (in fact, Pakistaniyat is a very real but very elusive concept, if you ask me). He has a very noble worldview - which I truly respect. But his overtly negative comments are not the true picture.

2) Masses: The masses often fall for the victim card rhetoric, but we're more dynamic than that. As depressed as they are under security issues, unemployment, inflation, etc, they need a positive outlook, not unbridled negativity.

3) Pol. leaders: Shouldn't use that rhetoric, but it helps with their popularity (sth that is mirrored across the border as well). And, in fact, its everywhere.
