Random Tip #6

If you have dry, chapped lips, apply toothpaste. Works better than Chapstick.

Particularly useful for girls.

:msd

I was a beautiful child - sorta kinda like the oreo kid (except I was a complete tomboy :D)..

He could have :)) But that kid had problems..

I don't know if this is gonna heal them, but if you run out of lipstick/lipgloss, this is sure to make them red.

A better tip is to take white sugar or brown sugar, add in a bit of coconut oil to it, perhaps a tint of vanilla essence and rub it on your lips for a while.

Best way to replenish natural moisture. It works.

?

Ramsey man :|
and yolo man...both colleges I wanna go do that policy....I need at least one doss subject so we'll see is all I can say

anyway, do people use 'kusmeh' or 'kasam' in Pak as much as they do in England?

Peak. I'm assuming that question is aimed at Mamoon ...

Well it is considered a soft subject :uakmal

My school teacher made it very interesting for us, but she was such a difficult marker .. A batch of 60 was reduced to 9 kids.

It's all about the approach to Socio. Personally, I was as serious about it as my other three (possibly more, since I was the A scorer in the class, and was thus expected to "maintain" that )

lol sociology I don't think is even considered by the Russell Group universities :)) sorry to the fans of it. Accountancy, ICT, Business, Sociology, Media, Photography, hair and beauty etc. are all doss subjects lol

School can be too harsh at times. In hindsight, I just wonder at the number of times teachers used to over-burden us for no reason.

Accounting? Are you insane?! That's granted double-credit by most universities!

And Ivy Leagues consider it. So.... :22:

Wow, maybe you should of toned down abit in class and aced the exams, oh well :P

It's considered some what of a 'girly' subject over here, two of my friends picked it by accident thinking it was Pyschology :))

I remember messing up some criminology term in paper 3 - she took off 7 marks for that

Socio/Psycho are considered to be at the same level - but I personally find Sociology to be more inspiring, eye-opening that Psychology. Psych P3 is very boring/medicine-like. The case studies are interesting though (P1-p2) :)

At A-Levels Accountancy is nothing much, like law.
This B_L...Accountancy is one of my choices for a future lol, I'd never make it sound bad but the subject Accountancy is frowned upon because its so easy...Universities who do Accountancy hate the A-Level Accounting subject lol

Some teachers are too stict. Recently psychology has been going up a notch ahead of Sociology.

Wait wait.. Are we on the same page, here?

Accountancy and Accounting - are they the same?

You never know with stupid CIE messing up names and whatnot.

EDIT: Code 9706. That stuff is hard.

It's one of the most eye-opening subjects I have ever studied!

It will take a long time for people to overcome their prejudice against such subjects, which deserve as much recognition as fields like Medicine and Engineering.

:L

Lagta hay zyada hi economics parh li hay.

Lool no, as Haz95 said they can be very good subjects to study at University but is considered slightly 'easy' at A-Levels. In fact, some Uni's prefer if you haven't studied Law at A-Levels, if you intend to study it at Uni.

I wish I could take up such subjects as well but I did FSC after my O levels for Medicine and there was absolutely no room for it.

Completely agreed! I was about to ask you if you did A levels..

^ I know, the Law thing is true. But didn't know if they've started doing this with Accounting as well.

How brainless is that?

ALSO: You guys are given variant 1. We get variant 3. 1 is way easier than 3.

Have any of you heard of Mentalism? Came across it couple of weeks ago, it's an interesting topic.

Also, for some reason - I blame Haz95 and Afridi96 for discussing academics and making me look nerdy, when I'm not actually :msd

I mean the same thing when talking about accountancy/accounting...Its a frowned upon subject. There's a reason I'm picking maths and economics because Accountancy is definitely a potential subject I want to do in University.
And thats England's educative system for you..especially when clowns such as Michael Gove are running it

Yes 8. I don't know.

My brother dropped out of medical college because he absolutely hated it so I was the qurbani ka bakra. I don't regret it now, its a great, great way of helping people.

I don't even 100% sure if they offer accountancy at my College :)) They probably do though. Most people choose Maths because Uni's really like it, alot. E.g. people who don't get above a C in Maths at GCSE's have to do Stats, which is also frowned down upon.

Completely agree on the latter, but my story's the exact opposite of yours.

Genius elder sister --> burden on me to do as well as her --> chose lame economics/business subjects in O levels because of that --> went wild and took crazy subjects in A levels --> now we both fight on the relevance of Political Science/IR and Intl economics in the real world

The scope is completely different here in Pakistan.. *shrugs*

Anyhow, good luck to you both with your A levels! Do well :19:

Doesn't everyone take around 7 or 8 subjects in O levels?

I had 9 (2010). Nowadays, 10+ is the norm for an above avg student

10  why do these students torture themselves
I took 8 myself

the theory that physical and psychological phenomena are ultimately explicable only in terms of a creative and interpretative mind.

You can do some cool tricks with it as well.

Wow nice! We can discuss this later once you're done with exams :)

WTH?! Accounting is equated with HOME ECONOMICS!

ACCOUNTS PAPER 4!

DA EFF?!

Its either a farce, or my whole life's been a lie. :L

Your the 'Essay Queen' :))

Ghissi-pitti essays wali
is more appropriate, my friend

But not for us! :P

Nah, really its fine :) He's my mun-bola bhai so its cool :msd

10  why do these students torture themselves
I took 8 myself

Societal pressure. My relatives (not parents, relatives) almost forced me to take 10 myself.

Just so I could get 10 As, and then show-off that "Yay I got 1 more A than my sis."

:110:

:91:

What did your sister study?

Economics. Pure economics. Maybe some maths/finance/intl trade thing too.

MashAllah she's a genius!

LOL man chill. These subjects are pointless because they're too easy. Accounting itself is a really good profession but the A-Level version is just weak and is like a slice of what accounting really is. It's like studying PE because you want to be a footballer- do you really need it?

And lol Zohaib it had to happen cos we all have exams going ;-)

You'd be surprised at how they freaking trained us for Accounting  We were doing practice questions from ACCA!

Khair choro
.. Lets not discuss this anymore..

Had one of amazing food, went for a ride on my bike, Enjoyed cool breeze.

Then went to Bombay chowpati MM alam road, anda shami wrap with tea.

I like how they use the alphetebet to determine what level of education you are on.
