I don't think anyone expected us to play brilliantly against the fast bowlers in this tour. However, what has been the most concerning issue off late is how badly we have struggled against the spinners. Whether it is Santner, Williamson, Sodhi or Astle. There's not one spinner who we dominated.
For a subcontinental side, known for its quality against spin, we have performed absolutely abysmal against the spinners. Sarfraz is supposedly one of the best players of spin in the world, yet he looks like a club cricketer whenever leg spinners/left arm spinners are introduced.
One thing I will mention is, this issue against spin is not something that started in this tour. The reason we were whitewashed in the Test series against Sri Lanka was also due to the same reason. We could not handle Herath's spin bowling at all.
Is this the future? Have our new batsmen lost the ability to play spin?
