He should be the first name to be let go, of TKO are imposing various financial constraints on him then a good booker will still work well within then, this guy is still settling old scores and petty grudges, there’s a reason why Vince kept him on a leash. Carlito’s entire run has been a huge waste & Cena proved how interesting a programme with Truth could be when he was given a shot; when you feel like you’re not getting value, you change things up a bit instead of pulling the plug, that’s something he should be doing with his personal pet projects like the cringe lord Seth Rollins, he will never be on the level of a Cena or Cody or Reigns; just like himself, only the guy who worked with the guy at the top; my god that faction has been a disaster, you take Seth out and put Drew in it, and it makes so much more sense.
 
The list of WHC’s have been either mediocre or poorly booked to the extent that Jey Uso is actually doing a decent job carrying the strap and for me, arguably is the best of the lot so far; it’s not necessarily a good reflection on management though.

However, CM Punk is so over man and the people are begging for a world title run, each week he is getting AE era level reactions; I watched a Rock/Kane/Big Show match on SD from the 2000’s and Punk got a bigger pop then the Rock did in that match. Even an asset like Punk who is arguably too big for wrestling, Triple Doofus is more clueless then Tony Clown when it comes to how he should utilise one of his biggest draws.

And I can’t stand how they humiliate AJ Styles every week, as I type this my blood boils. This is why I mainly watch NXT now, I am so angry that piece of crap took Perez, Gulila & Vasquer so quickly in succession, his pettiness couldn’t stand their success under Shawn. Ricky Saints is next and I don’t have high hopes but if there is anything going for him it’s that he’s a former disgruntled AEW employee and H tends to book those well because in his fragile mind; he still is trying to win the marathon he lost so spectacularly to AEW.
 
Problem is, AJ Styles is looking to retire and will happily end his career this way, but he should know that, under the current regime, the training role in NXT will not be guaranteed to him or secure unless he is on a low ball contract. This is how legends with vastly superior careers to H are treated.

As for the main roster creative; names which come to mind are as follows:

- Paul Heyman; I don’t think he would do it due to his age but he would be ideal, even as a consultant?

- Gave Sapolsky; He is already on the WWE payroll and his vast experience would make him a great fit, just look at some of talent he has helped scout for NXT, these will be seen as ‘home grown’ but I am certain he played a big hand in identifying their potential.

Or perhaps Gabe could work in a lead role with Heyman helping him out, a reverse of their 90’s arrangement.

Ryan Ward is still employed by WWE but he is arguably H’s second man in command, it seems only natural to consider him for a promotion and again, he has great experience.

I don’t like picking wrestlers for these positions due to the natural conflict but if I had to pick one who could do the job effectively in the future, it would be CM Punk; high ring IQ, one of the biggest stars of this era and true student of the game, and he actually does have a bit of experience to because you would know especially how he essentially shaped the vision for Collision and was a lead booker for that program.

I think its highly likely that H could be pushed out if this garbage booking continues. At the end of the day, he's just an employee of TKO. He doesn't have any family connections to Ari Emmanuel or Nick Khan. And I agree with you. I think Shawn is probably the best person to take over. Not sure how well-placed Gabe is in the company in terms of visibility but he's a good shot too. Heyman will always be in the mix for the big picture stuff involving the top guys. And honestly, these guys are good enough to save the booking which has completely been flushed down the toilet since the beginning of this year.

On a side note, that super-kick from Jey to Logan which almost knocked him out cold was one of the best I’ve ever experienced in the post Shawn era.

Lol I am interested to see where this gimmick goes and how far they can stretch it. It's a shame we couldn't get Rey v El Grande at Mania. That would have been a landmark win for El Grande. And they could have used that to set up mask v mask.
 
Hearing now that Karrion Kross's deal is about to run out too. And he may be on the chopping board too. I guess getting over on your own is a bigger crime in WWE than I expected.
 
Have to put over Will Ospreay v Adam Page at AEW Double Or Nothing in the final of the Owen Hart Cup. Bloody fantastic wrestling match. Final 5 minute stretch featured some of the best wrestling you will see anywhere. Easily one of the best matches of the year, though it was definitely hurt by going on last after the Anarchy in the Arena match where they did everything short of killing each other.

You know what it is, even if they’ve recovered from their STD I still wont touch em with a barge pole after what they put me through. However, TK is good with his fans and this is a good opportunity to capitalise on the negative publicity surrounding TKO and there is a growing minority who are curious about AEW.

Because he was a H project, wouldn’t surprise me if they recycle the summer of Punk, but H doesn’t have the nuts or instincts to push a talent in that manner to the top

He's just an absolutely gutless and risk-averse booker. He makes so many obviously predictable decisions that he has taken the unpredictability factor out of WWE completely. Everything goes down exactly how you expect it to. Everything goes on way too long, or takes ages to materialize. There are no surprises.

I mean just take Karrion Kross's example (assuming they have plans for him). If he is getting over now, why would you not throw away some of your existing plans and just capitalize on the popularity and buzz around him now, instead of months later? Why do you have to be so rigid in your ways?

i completely understand where you're coming from on AEW.
He does have a good opportunity, but I think he's too stupid of a businessman to do anything useful with it.

Don't expect it to be anything close to their previous matches, but I'm interested to see this.

Isn’t All In meant to be at Wembley? What happened there? And is this match what both men need in 2025, perhaps Okada needs it more than Omega because he has become a complete joke, but I guess it’s interesting to see if they can find the same chemistry in the ring they did almost a decade ago.

Ospreay is a victim of his own talent and ego; he’s not as good as Dave thinks he is but the ceiling is very high; Jericho showcased that at Wembley in what I think was his best match ever. I get his gimmick to but it doesn’t work for a global audience and needs to be repackaged. The biggest problem with him is his extremely low ring IQ and huge ego. I think he could have benefited massively from working with someone like Shawn Michaels, but wrestling is in a weird place right now, he wouldn’t be protected under H / TKO and he’s too high profile to be going to NXT directly. Indies are killed off, NJPW is not what it use to be & he already passed through TNA. He’s at the right place but under a booker who can’t really reign him in and maximise his potential. He’s in limbo as a result; if someone like MJF left tomorrow, he’d be much better placed to thrive wherever he worked because he knows what the formula is to succeed and he has all the ingredients to. In this situation you ought to make best use of your creative freedoms, it’s a big issue still in AEW and there are a handful who still care enough to adjust / look to grow further.

It's weird that Tony still wants to make Page his face of the company even when there are better options available to carry that mantle like MJF and Ospreay. No doubt Page is a fantastic in ring worker but I just feel like he's being rewarded for being one of the first guys to sign to AEW with the whole Elite group supporting him.

Karrion seems like a great dude with brilliant mic skills and look. The problem is he's just not as good of an in ring worker which is understandable considering he only got into this business 10 years ago.

They are doing it in a baseball stadium in Texas this year. Probably because they are afraid it will not draw aswell in London, the third year running. I think they plan on returning to Wembley next year.

Yes Ospreay unfortunately does belong in AEW to a great degree. Because he too believes that having great matches is the true marker for success. Not drawing money or growing the business. He is probably one of the most naturally gifted performers in the business but as you said, he has a big ego and won't get out of his own way. He reminds me of AJ a bit. But it's like AJ if you took out the brain. Because I don't think his matches have particularly good in-psychology unless he is in the ring with someone who understands that. That's one of the reasons why his matches with MJF and Bryan were so good. If left to his own devices, he's someone who will do everything you can possibly do, and while it can be exciting to watch after a certain point it begins to feel exhausting. There's a reason why every match should not be a 5 star match.

I think Omega will win. Okada won all their matches in Japan and Okada has been undefeated in singles competition since coming to AEW. If anyone is going to beat him it might as well be Omega. But with Omega's recent history of injuries I reckon they might as well capitalize on whatever time he has left before his body breaks down completely, or he gets injured again.

You're right. Adam Page is someone they have desperately wanted to be a star since day one but neither has the booking supported him, nor has he done anything to show that he is capable of being one. I won't say its all The Elite, he is liked by their die-hard fans too. But I don't think anything will change from a business stand-point even if he becomes champion. It'll be better than this Moxley crap but I don't think anything will really change.

Omega can have even better matches if he tweaks his style, he’d protect himself more and ensure he has a longer career; this a big test for the last few years, while he has been out the ring due to injuries, if he can remain a bit more grounded and focus on the drama, it can with the perception of how good he is; if not then am afraid he will be regarded as another flash in the pan who had great matches only when he was in the ring with more skilful workers.

Bro he ain't as bad as Jey Uso. If H can push Jey Uso to the moon, he can do something meaningful with Kross too. He may not be Ric Flair but he's fairly decent in the ring and can work a match with good psychology. Not doing anything with him is just stupid and bad booking.

He has tweaked it slightly. Doesn't have those 'bangers' every week. Infact he wrestles very sparingly. Even on PPV, he hasn't had that many big Dave Meltzer classics since coming back. So maybe he has finally developed some sense.

There was a time I used to go crazy for these 5 star matches. A lot of NXT, NJPW and some indie matches. Ricochet vs Ospreay in case. But once you've spent 1 year enjoying it, it all becomes monotonous tbh regardless of how good the matches are. Near falls and kick outs and finishing exchanges, everything that's been done a million times already. As I became a more consistent watcher, what really seperated those great matches from becoming unforgettable ones was the story behind it. And nope, flipping the bird 10 times in a match isn't that. I still believe the guys who build up their feud the best is how they essentially make their matches unforgettable. Either that, or the occasion or the grandiosity.
Rock vs Hogan at Mania 18 is my favorite match ever. The match was okay, the build was meh, but how they told the story in that arena coupled with the crowd's reaction is what made that match unforgettable for me.
Ospreay is a very very good and athletic worker, but unless you make your matches mean something, all your matches despite all your effort will be the same. Okada understood it quite earlier.
Bryan, AJ and Punk are great examples of that. You won't see them putting their lives on the line for every match. Roman and Brock don't really turn the page with their matches, but they make it sure it's the one that's has something in it that will be talked about.
The man who blended it perfectly IMO was Austin followed by Taker, HBK and Kurt. Those 4 IMO are the most perfect wrestlers IMO. Edge would feature very highly on my list as well.

No. Omega won 2. Okada 1, the remaining one was a draw. So Omega is leading 2-1. Think they will give Okada a win now. Actually I have no idea how AEW booking works lol.

Omega needs to work on his promo style and acting during the matches. He acts like he's in anime during his matches which takes some of it away. He has Joe and Edge to learn it from.

I saw his work in NXT. And boy did Karrion look a few levels below the likes of Gargano, Cole, Reilly, Ciampa etc. The only good match I saw from him was his rematch with Balor and Balor dragged a great match out of him. But he got away there as he was a much bigger behemoth among all the nxt guys.
When he rejoined WWE, I think putting him in the ring with Drew right away did even more harm to him. In NXT, he had the look, build and character that set him apart from others, but here he was pitted against Drew who was just a better worker, with a better look and everything.
Glad that he's rediscovered himself with this new character.

He was booked as a monster heel in NXT and for that he did fairly well. He was never supposed to have especially competitive matches with any of the other top guys.

As for Jey, I don't agree at all. He has done nothing since becoming champion. It's just the same old s**t every week only now he has a belt.

I’ve seen some clips of his promo’s when he’s just being himself and surprisingly I enjoyed those promos because they felt real, he seems to have matured since his illness. Yeah needs to stay away from the anime bs and cosplay garbage, it’s a shame really, so much untapped potential.

My most memorable match of his under immense pressure from the IWC, this match and the one with RVD really made him.

My personal fav from that period when it came to his title run was the TLC with Edge, I got a DVD from Woolworths which has now gone into administration, put it in my portable DVD player and watched it under my duvet, then the next day I had to return the DVD because it mysteriously had poor quality footage :amir I then got a sealed Unforgiven DVD as an exchange for my troubles and well; it happened to be returned because I decided I had lost interest in the event :yk

If they even attempt this, Reigns should ask for double or they can F themselves, seriously, he has been driving their business and I’d love to see them even try this, please do this TKO.

I will tune into AEW again if Reigns ever showed up there, I guess we will all find out what ‘tribal’ truly means.

I am finally up to date with NXT, whenever I miss an episode, I regret it, similar to when I was watching Collision. Shawn has similar instincts as Vince but without all the stuff you don’t like and some more consistency.

Ricky Saints wont be in the World’s Collide match because he is still selling the cutter from Page on that bent chair, the CT scan showed some serious throat injury :yk3 But an appearance at the event wont surprise me.

I was dissapointed that Vasquer has left but to be fair to the slimy H, he wanted her on the main roster asap but she requested time in NXT, so I will let this one go because she was meant to be on RAW the moment she signed a WWE contract. Stephanie was smart enough to pick Shawn’s brains for a bit. But Perez & Gulia move up to? That don’t sit well with me. He should focus on re-building the women’s division on the main roster instead of wanting all the shiny new toys, like Ivy Nile has a lot of potential but is used to do endless jobs.

Trick Williams has the it factor man and am glad Shawn has negotiated this run with TNA for him, I regard him as a world champion now, Shawn is getting the most out of these guys knowing what their fate will be when they move up. Just when things were starting to feel a little ordinary with Trick, Shawn pulls this out the bag.

He’s also hit the ground running with the new winner of LFG who is challenging Oba, I know he got his finisher but Jasper reminds me a bit of Abyss.

And I did read the spoilers but my god that shock title change was done so well, for weeks Shawn has been teasing friction within Fatal Influence and the expectation was that Jaycy Jane or Fellon Henley would turn on each other; they used this ruse to swerve the fans and the champion Vasquer, just look at the shock online and in the crowd, when was the last time or when has H ever achieved that. I fully expected Henley to be champ given how good she is but I did under-appreciate Jaycy Jane who is a terrific all rounder with great heel ring IQ; the following week they set up the surprise debut of Mariah May and that felt like a big deal, was done so well; I think they will be fine post Vasquer as Shawn is so good at making best use of his resources.

I’ve worked in these environments and this is why I had the strong view on TKO compared to Vince, trust me, as a talent you don’t want to be working for the former and as a fan, you don’t want to buy a ticket or package being sold by these extorting vermins.

Yes you’re right, I thought if he still has that wrestling itch, he has that connection with Mox there who is his best mate still and they could work something out, but he has achieved everything there is to achieve in wrestling and the business needs him then vice versa.

All amazing matches but I'm standing my ground on this one. This match also showed how underrated and what a pro JBL was because he made a star out of Cena that night. It was the match that showed Cena could take a beating and still come out on top. I feel like every wrestler on the up and up needs a match like this.

TLC with Edge and the RVD match are two close to call honestly as the distant seconds. I love that they booked Edge to beat Cena in Boston at SummerSlam and Cena got the win in Edge's signature match in Toronto at Unforgiven. Meanwhile ECW One Night Stand just had a different aura around it. Seeing people throw Cena's shirt back repeatedly will always be a goated moment lol. That was some monster heat.

As have I and honestly I should have known better. They did some good things at the start and I was so sick of Vince that I thought we were getting something new. How wrong I was.

I don't think these guys are that close anymore. When they were on the road, and on the up I think they felt like they were all in it together. Now they have all gone in different directions and found success of their own. Plus, I doubt Roman wants to be involved in the garbage Moxley is involved in these days. Above all though it would be a step down for him. I enjoy AEW but Roman going there would be a major step down for him.

I've entertained the idea because I've not really seen Roman interested in Hollywood like Cena was or even Batista, but the Rock is well connected and I could see Roman seamlessly fitting into thrillers or crime movies. I still feel as though the old shield blokes are still mates just life has taken them in separate directions; for example, Seth is still in a coffee group with Cena & Claudio, the guys who have worked for WWE especially still stay mates because they literally became a bigger part of each others lives then their own family's due to the brutal travel and schedule. If not AEW, the other option could be NJPW, but I am just fantasy booking now because the idea is getting ridiculous; Roman Reigns in NJPW lol

Great point, it's largely overlooked how good a job JBL did when it came to making John Cena really; JBL was everything you'd want a heel champion to be and I agree with you, that match for Cena was like the equivalent of Shawn's match with Mankind at In Your House in terms of the stakes and the point at which they were in their respective championship reigns.

Absolutely. Speaking of Mick, I feel like he was in the default position of having these types matches. Elevated Shawn, Taker (HIAC), HHH (Street Fight & HIAC), Orton (Hardcore) on different occasions.

He might just go ahead and retire then tbh. He has already spoken of retiring in a few years. Plus, its not like he needs the money. TKO would be wise to give Roman everything he wants, if they have even slightest bit of business acumen.

Ethan Page is a solid hand. I've seen alot of him in AEW and I think he's someone you want on your roster. He has a decent look, is a pretty good worker and can more than hold his own on the mic too. Btw, how long do you think they will keep Ricky in NXT?

I saw a bit of Jasper on LFG. Tbh, he was one of the few guys that seemed like they had an original gimmick.

Mariah May is good get. I am not a fan of her promos but her in-ring work is very strong and advanced for someone of her age. She has wrestled a bit in Japan too. I think WWE's women's division has the potential to become really amazing now with the addition of Guilia, Perez, Vaquer, Marah May. You have others like Stratton and Jade who need some work. And then you have the top girls: Charlotte, Becky, IYO, Rhea, Liv. Not to mention, Raquel Rodruguez. You can't possibly ask for a better roster of female talent. But you gotta have someone who knows how to book them too...

There is zero jeopardy in the mens match which is tailor made for a cringe lord victory.

The women's match is a bit better but you can only see Ripley or Vasquer winning it.
