First let him perform in places like Aus and NZ or for that matter England, I know UA didn't perform in England but he did quite well in Aus and NZ and has done well in SA as well.
who cares about performance in NZ? Its just one of the minnows of world cricket as far as tests are concerned , never has performing in NZ been a benchmark to judge a player . There are only three countries in which the quality and performance of a Batsman matters : Aus , Sa and England .
Umar Averages 33 in Australia and 24 in England
Those figures are not convincing but if he has the potential he can change those stats quickly in his favour in the coming years , only time will tell how he performs in the Long run . Many of the other great batsmen had slow starts in there career , so its ok for Umar as of now
