I am nearly shaking with relief. It’s the first good news in five long dark years.

I can’t believe it, evil cannot be defeated so easily, Trump has some last card up his sleeve, it’s like the last reel of Alien when you think Sigourney is safe but the monster is in the lifeboat.
 
How evil a President to not start a new war. Establishment slaves will be happy that regulation is restored with yet another war in the middle east

Not that I particularly rate Biden - but this is like the fall of Sauron. For the first time in four years I look to the West in hope instead of fear.
 
Feels like Trump's meltdown has actually boosted Biden's reputation by default. I was hoping for a Trump win so the Americans could give the white pride stuff a decent run, but I think after his ranting and raving about conspiracies, most of the US will just be hoping for a leader who can project some maturity and wisdom.

You know when you put someone like that in mainstream political channels this sends a terrible message (nothing to do with what she is saying)

She has a personal vendetta so you cannot expect neutral political commentary from her but if she is there people will lose trust in media if this continues to go unabated

that's my problem (don't care about her message or if its correct or not its a matter of principle) media will lose credibility if they pull these stunts

Hillary still conceded and the left didn't try to delegitimize the election at least until the inaugration. There didn't go to the courts unlike trump who thinks SCOTUS can help him change the results.
 
But Russia DID interfere. It’s not what Democrat supporters say. There was enough evidence to suggest the Russians did interfere and the intelligence agencies of USA say so.

Whether there was collusion with Trump campaign or not is what was left unproven, but Trump WAS a beneficiary of a Russian campaign to interfere. I don’t know how anybody can deny that!

America was better prepared and Americans were better prepared as well. The tech companies and agencies identified a lot of Russian troll farms and groups, shut them down and americans realized what was going on as well and didn’t buy into the conspiracy theories and propaganda that favored trump. and that all reflected in the turn out and swing votes voting for the other guy.
You will be naive to believe the Russia stuff was a hoax. Just because they couldn’t link the trump campaign with Russian operatives didn’t mean the Russians didn’t independently try to manipulate the public opinion towards trump.

Are you trying to tell me that Russian bots were able to penetrate the defences of the beacon of civilisation, masters of technology, and influence an election for their home boy Trump using nothing but Facebook and Twitter? Seriously? Is this how fragile and fickle USA democracy is? The Russians beat the USA at their own game of foreign interference and regime change through social media without any bombs and bullets? Wow!

If that's what you want to believe then fine, fact is the original claim was Trump colluded with the Russians and this turned out to be false. Even if the notion is granted, the Russian posts accounted for less than 1% of the total posts on the 2016 election. This is an extraordinary effective rate if true.

Anyway, there's nothing to suggest that China didn't influence this election, only this time the media stayed quiet.

Democracy is always very fragile. It’s true and yes that’s what I am telling you. There are divisions in America, some very latent divisions due to slavery in the past, and the affirmative actions policies which have caused a lot of blue collared white people to feel they are being marginalized (whether that sentiment is justified or not is a different story)

But the Russians fed on that and you saw droves of whites heading towards alt right which resulted in the rise of the white nationalism across the nation.

The interference doesn’t mean there is a hacker sitting somewhere and hacking Facebook and social media accounts to somehow magically vote for Americans. That’s a lie and an over simplification the RW media wants you to believe.

Using fake news to sway the vote? This has been happening since day dot in politics. TV, Papers, Radio, now Social media. Let's not forget the biggest fake news of this Millennium - Iraq 2003.

The division and shift to alt-right were not because of Russia, but because Obama promised change and instead he did the same by bailing out the - too big to fail - corporations in 2008, then hired the same Wall Street cronies on his economic advisory board, tried to balance the books after waging countless wars - meanwhile he was pandering to his doners, the gap between rich and poor widened in the USA, ushering in austerity.

Austerity breeds fascism and crime, not Trump, not Russia, and not even the China. This is why Trump is a symptom of broken American system. It's going to get worse because now we have a stimulus based economy in the West because Obama wasn't brave enough to say no, unlike Trump.

On top of this the voting system in the USA was designed for the white privledged man. Not blacks, not women, not immigrants. Hence the electoral votes. The higher the number of white men in a state, the higher the number of electoral votes. Funny how voting is not a right but a privledge in USA? Nothing in the constituion which gives an American citizen the right to vote. This is not a mistake, but by design.

The capitalist system, the voting system, are broke. People are broke or drowning in debt, and their voices are either being ignored or surpressed. This is how the right have risen throughout history. This is how revolutions start - when a man doesn't have a penny in his pocket and cannot put food on the table.

This is not say anything of the health system which makes the USA the only developed nation where one can be bankrupt for using the health service. Wealth before health!

Today is a day of jubilee for Democrats and Trump haters, but this euphoria will not last long, once people realise again that no matter who is President, America's problem are far more deep rooted and will continue to get worse unless the systems change.

There you have it folks. When being sincere in debate this is what we get from the radical left. "Nope not our fault, someone else did it, conversation over". This is euphemistic of they have no response because they've never thought about it. For too long their minds have been trained to follow the MSM.

Tired of this Hail Mary liberal routine. The left are not fit for debate. In fact, I refuse to engage in members of an ideology which endorses violence and racism going forward, oh and foreign wars.

If you want to talk about election interference stuff, let me know. That came first. Once we discuss that, we can talk about other stuff you posted. I find it remarkable.

You got one guy who couldn't predict his state despite receiving assurances from his hood they all voted blue, and you got another guy who supported Biden, but has only started reading up on him since the networks declared him winner.

Utterly unbelievable, yet true.

US election: Legal bid to get Pence to overturn results rejected

A Texas judge rejected the case, brought by Republican Louie Gohmert, seeking to stop Vice-President Mike Pence from certifying the final result.

Lawyers for Mr Pence had asked for the case to be thrown out on Thursday.

Mr Trump's friends and colleagues in the Republican party have presented dozens of legal challenges to the November outcome which delivered a decisive win to Mr Biden.

His victory was announced after days of vote-counting that took longer than in recent years because of the huge number of postal ballots cast due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Mr Trump has made numerous unsubstantiated claims that Mr Biden's win, which saw the president-elect gain 306 electoral college votes to his rival's 232, was fraudulent.

Explaining the Electoral College and which voters will decide who wins

Congressman Gohmert's case sought to allow Vice-President Mike Pence to reject some electoral college votes when they are ratified by Congress on 6 January.

The vice-president presides over the vote certification in Congress in a ceremonial role that involves opening and tallying the envelopes containing electoral college votes before announcing the result.

Mr Gohmert's case aimed to expand that role to allow Mr Pence to cast judgement on the validity of the votes and potentially replace votes for Mr Biden with ones for Mr Trump.

But Judge Jeremy Kernodle, who was appointed to the Texas court in 2018 by Mr Trump, rejected the case, saying it was based on speculative events.

On Thursday a lawyer from the US Justice Department representing Mr Pence urged Mr Gohmert to drop the case, suggesting that it was not the vice-president's office that should be scrutinising the outcome.

Although most Republicans in Congress are expected to vote in favour of certifying the results, a small number including Senator Josh Hawley, say they plan to object . But their vote is not expected to change the outcome.

Mr Biden is due to be sworn in as president on 20 January at a scaled-back ceremony with just 1,000 tickets available due to Covid-19 precautions.
