He Used To Hit Her, Was Very Conservative': Shocking Details of Domestic Violence Emerge in Shamli Triple Murder Case

The woman who was killed by her husband for not wearing a burqa was a victim of domestic violence long before she was murdered, her aunt claimed. Calling the woman's husband "very conservative", the aunt said he used to hit her and had forced her to cut ties with her family.

Shamli: Shocking details of domestic violence have surfaced after a woman named Taheera and her two minor daughters were killed by her husband for not wearing burqa while going out of their house in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh.
The accused husband, identified as Mohammad Farooq, has been arrested.

'He Used To Hit Her'

In an exclusive interview with Republic, Taheera's paternal aunt revealed that Farooq used to hit Taheera. The aunt further alleged that the man had forced Taheera to cut ties with her family and friends.

'He Was Very Conservative'

The aunt also stated that Farooq was of a very conservative nature and did not let Taheera go anywhere. She added that Taheera recently ran away from her husband's home, came to her parents' house and stayed there for a month.

'Taheera Feared For Her Life'

Her aunt also shed light on how Taheera feared for her life before her horrific murder. During her stay at her parents' house, she had told her father that her husband was going to kill her, the aunt claimed.
Farooq allegedly begged her wife's family to send her back to him, promising that he would never hit her or ill treat her again in the future. Unaware that Farooq would break his promise and would commit a horrific crime, the woman's father forced her to go back to her husband, the aunt claimed. She said that while Taheera's father told her to forgive her husband for one last time, Taheera did not want to go back to him. She claimed the victim was sure that Farooq would surely kill her if she went back to him this time.

A complete animal. I don't know what kind of religious conservative he was. Islam doesn't permit killing wife and kids like this. He also broke his promise which is another sin.

He should get the capital punishment 100%. A complete monster.

Also, the deceased wife's father should be ashamed of himself. He forced his daughter to go to that monster again.

Dead Body in Metal Box: UP Locals Follow Foul Smell to Abandoned Box, Find Minor Boy Inside

An abandoned metal box in Bareilly revealed the body of a young boy, prompting a murder probe. Police suspect kidnapping, are examining CCTV, clues, and missing-person reports to identify the child.

New Delhi: An abandoned metal box found near bushes in Bareilly’s Izzatnagar area on Tuesday drew attention due to a strong pungent smell. When police arrived and opened the box, they discovered the body of a boy aged around 8–10 years. The remains were sent for post-mortem to determine the cause of death. The box was located under the Nakatia river bridge along the Delhi–Lucknow National Highway.
Police suspect the child was killed elsewhere and the body dumped at the spot to avoid detection. “When the box was opened, the body of a boy was recovered. Initial signs suggest he may have been killed elsewhere and the body dumped here,” said Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Manush Parikh, as reported by PTI. A forensic team examined the scene and collected several crucial clues, officials added.

Besides the dead body, the police found a blanket, packets of snacks and biscuits inside the box. As per the preliminary findings, the police think that the kidnapper must have lured the kid using the snacks and later killed him. Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya has formed four teams to crack the case, the media report added.

The Izzatnagar police are probing the case from multiple angles, including murder, kidnapping and the possibility of occult-related activity, as certain items found in the box have raised suspicion. Efforts are underway to establish the child's identity. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined and all missing-person reports filed in surrounding localities are being scrutinised, police added.

Bengaluru Cabbie, Fed Up With Younger Brother’s Abuse at Home, Stabs His Neck in Pre-Planned Murder

Three men, including elder brother Shivraj, have been arrested for the murder of 24-year-old Dhanaraj, whose body was found near Bengaluru. Initially suspected to be an accidental death, the case shifted after CCTV footage revealed the suspects dumping the body.

Bengaluru: Police have arrested three men, including an elder brother, for the murder of 24-year-old Dhanaraj, whose decomposed body was found dumped along the Bannerghatta–Kaggalipura stretch earlier this month on the outskirts of Bengaluru. What initially appeared to be a natural or accidental death has now been established as a calculated fratricide driven by years of domestic violence, thefts, and constant turmoil at home.
On 6 November, Bannerghatta Police found a decomposed male body lying by the roadside. With no immediate signs of external injury, officers suspected an unnatural but not necessarily criminal death.
However, CCTV footage from a nearby private company completely changed the direction of the investigation. The visuals showed a car slowing down, stopping briefly, and two people pushing a body out before driving away. This footage became the crucial lead that cracked the case.

A Family Torn by Violence

Both the victim and the main accused, 28-year-old Shivraj, hailed from Aland in Kalaburagi district. According to police, Dhanaraj had a long history of violent and criminal behaviour. He frequently assaulted family members, stole from neighbours, picked fights after drinking, and had even attacked his elder brother during confrontations.
Neighbours from their home district had repeatedly complained about thefts, including mobile phones and even livestock, all allegedly committed by Dhanaraj.Shivraj, who works as a cab driver in HSR Layout, eventually “reached breaking point”, police said.

The Murder Plan: A Job Offer Used as Bait

Unable to cope with the constant harassment at home, Shivraj allegedly decided to kill his younger brother. On 2 November, he called Dhanaraj to Bengaluru on the pretext of helping him find work.
Shivraj arrived at Bannerghatta–NICE Road along with two close friends — Sandeep (24) and Prashanth (26). The men picked up Dhanaraj, who took the front passenger seat.
As he scrolled through his phone, Sandeep and Prashanth allegedly grabbed him from behind. At that moment, Shivraj struck his brother on the neck with a machete, killing him inside the car.

Cover-Up Attempt: Body Dumped, Weapons Disposed

Police said the accused later dumped the body along the Bannerghatta–Kaggalipura road. They also disposed of the bloodstained floor mat and the machete near Electronic City–NICE Road in an attempt to destroy evidence.
Once officers reviewed the CCTV clip, they traced the vehicle number and identified the suspects. Bannerghatta Police arrested all three men and recovered key evidence.
A case of murder has been registered, and the accused have been remanded to judicial custody.

Desperate To Reunite With Ex, UP Man Turns To Black Magic, Doesn’t Return Home

On the evening of November 24, the accused called the victim to his village for "final rituals". A dispute broke out when Neelu allegedly demanded more money and he stabbed the man to death.

A man had gone to a self-styled 'tantrik' to win back his former lover, but was killed during a ritual, said police. The Police arrested a self-styled 'tantrik' for allegedly murdering a 26-year-old man near a mazar in Shivli after a dispute over "vashikaran" ritual.
The victim, identified as Rajababu from Arshadpur village, had sought the accused, Neelu, to allegedly help him win back his former girlfriend, who had married another man in April.
He initially paid the 'tantrik' Rs 36,000 and later an additional Rs 1.5 lakh for the promised rituals, Superintendent of Police (Kanpur Dehat) Shraddha Narendra Pandey told news agency PTI.

On the evening of November 24, Neelu called Rajababu to his village for "final rituals". After purchasing liquor, the two proceeded to a nearby field where Neelu staged a fake ritual and made the youth write a note, police said.

A dispute broke out when Neelu allegedly demanded more money. During the quarrel, he allegedly stabbed Rajababu multiple times in the chest with a knife, killing him on the spot. Neelu then placed the murder weapon in Rajababu's hand and attached a note and a photograph of his ex-girlfriend to the body to make it appear as a suicide, police added.
The youth's body was recovered the next morning (on November 25). A liquor packet found at the scene led investigators to a nearby shop, where CCTV footage showed him with Neelu shortly before the incident.
Neelu was arrested after initially attempting to mislead the probe but later allegedly confessed during questioning.
The murder weapon has been recovered, and post-mortem and CCTV evidence were also collected, the SP said.
"The crime was committed purely for money under the garb of occult practices," Pandey said, adding that further legal formalities are underway.

'Agar shor machaya...': Delhi woman pours hot oil, red chilli powder on sleeping husband

While he was sleeping, Dinesh suddenly felt a sharp pain and saw his wife, Sadhna, pouring boiling oil and red chilli powder on him. When Dinesh protested, his wife threatened him further and said: "Agar shor machaya to aur garam tel daal doongi."

New Delhi:
A shocking case has been reported in Delhi where a woman allegedly poured boiling oil and red chilli powder on her husband while he was sleeping. The incident took place on October 2 in south Delhi's Madangir after Dinesh Kumar, a 28-year-old pharmaceutical firm worker, returned to his home and slept after eating his dinner.

While he was sleeping, Dinesh suddenly felt a sharp pain and saw his wife, Sadhna, pouring boiling oil and red chilli powder on him. When Dinesh protested, his wife threatened him further and said: "'Agar shor machaya to aur garam tel daal doongi' (if you shout, I will pour more oil on you)."

However, unable to bear the pain, Dinesh kept shouting, which alerted his neighbours and the landlord. Anjali, the daughter of the house owner, was one of the people who made a run to check on Dinesh. "My father went upstairs to see what was happening. The door was locked. His wife had locked the door from inside. We asked them to open the door. When the door finally opened, we saw him writhing in pain and his wife hiding inside the house," she told news agency PTI.

Dinesh rushed to hospital

The landlord, along with his brother-in-law Ram Sagar, rushed to save Dinesh. When they arrived at Dinesh's house, they saw that Sadhna was taking him to the hospital. However, Anjali said they became suspicious of her after she headed towards the opposite direction. "My father stopped her, arranged an auto, and rushed Dinesh with Ram Sagar to the hospital," she said.

However, the Ram Sagar Hospital referred Dinesh to the Safdarjung Hospital after seeing the deep burns on his chest, face, and arms.

FIR registered

The police, meanwhile, have lodged a complaint at the Ambedkar Nagar Police Station and booked Sadhna under sections 118 (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt using dangerous weapons or means), 124 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by acid) and 326 (mischief by injury, inundation, fire or explosive substance, etc) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

"My wife and daughter were sleeping nearby. Around 3.15 am, I suddenly felt a sharp, burning pain across my body. I saw my wife standing and pouring boiling oil on my torso and face. Before I could get up or call for help, she sprinkled red chilli powder on my burns," Dinesh alleged in his complaint, as reported by PTI.

Marital feud?

Dinesh, who is a native of Uttar Pradesh, has been married to Sadhna for the past eight years, but the couple has had a troubled relationship. Two years ago, his wife filed a complaint with the Crime Against Women (CAW) Cell, but the matter was settled through a compromise. A police source said the couple had a row on the day of the incident as well.

"Initial investigation suggested that there has been a dispute between the couple for a long time. A complaint was made against the man two years back, but the matter was resolved after mediation. Another complaint was filed against Dinesh some months ago," the source told PTI.

Looks like he was abusing her, previousy she filed a CAW case against him, and something happened few months ago - guessing another violence against her.

He Was Depressed Over Ex-Wife's Move To UK, Then He Died By Suicide

Days after a man from Punjab's Ludhiana died by suicide, his ex-wife, currently in London, released a video alleging mental torture and dowry harassment by her in-laws.

The Ludhiana Police had registered a case against Kirandeep Kaur and her parents based on a complaint filed by 24-year-old Sunil Kumar's family, who have blamed her for his death. In their statement, the man's parents claimed that his ex-wife moved to England and had severed contact with him after leaving India, which allegedly pushed him into depression and eventually led to his suicide.

Kumar and Kaur got married in June 2019, the village sarpanch Sukhwinder Singh said, adding that the man also sold a plot of land worth Rs 11 lakh to finance Kaur's travel to England. He alleged that Kaur and her parents made Kumar sign divorce documents without his knowledge and also assured him that she would call him to England later.

Sukhwinder Singh said that after the two divorced in September 2024, Kaur married Gurpreet Singh a month later. Kumar's mother added that he himself had solemnised Kaur's second marriage in court as it was being done to facilitate her move to England on a study visa. His family said that the understanding was that once she reached England, the woman would divorce Gurpreet Singh and remarry Kumar.

A year later, the woman left for England and was allegedly seen off by Kumar. On reaching the UK, the sarpanch said, she stopped taking Kumar and his family's calls.

Responding to these allegations, Kaur said in her video that Kumar and his parents had repeatedly harrassed her for dowry since as early as 3-4 days of them getting married. She claimed repeated threats of suicide from his end, a behaviour his family members later told her he exhibited even before their marriage. She refuted that he was pressured for a divorce, adding that it was finalised in court in August 2024 and that she has the papers.

Holding a B.Ed. degree, Kaur said she never wanted to go abroad and was forced by her husband to take the IELTS and go abroad. Later, she said, Kumar's family began torturing her mentally about her family not agreeing to share the expenses of sending her abroad.

Kaur further contradicted the family's claims of a 2019 wedding, saying they got married in June 2021. She said that they had not spoken for 25 days before he died by suicide on December 8.

An FIR against Kaur, her parents and Gurpreet Singh has been registered under the Sections 108 (abetment to suicide), 318 (4) (cheating), 3(5) (criminal act done with common intention) of Bharat Nyay Sanhita.

Hyderabad: Teased Over School Uniform, Class 4 Student Hangs Himself Using ID Card; Probe Underway

The victim, Prasanth, was allegedly distressed after being repeatedly teased over his school uniform, following which he ended his life when he was alone, using a school ID card lanyard.

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a 9-year-old boy, identified as Prashanth, ended his life after allegedly being harassed by his classmates for not wearing his school uniform properly. The victim, who was a class 4 student, took this extreme step in the washroom of his house a few minutes after returning from school on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the cops sprang into action after learning about the tragic case and questioned his parents regarding his death.
Reports suggest that Prasanth was allegedly distressed after being repeatedly teased over his school uniform, following which he ended his life when he was alone, using a school ID card lanyard. The victim's family rushed him to the hospital for further treatment, but he was declared dead by the doctors.

Following the legal formalities, the child's body was moved to his native village for the last rites. Narrating the tragic incident, the victim's father, who worked as a watchman in the building where his family stays, stated the boy was very active and had no problem with anyone.

In another similar incident, a 14-year-old boy in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, reportedly attempted suicide by jumping off the third floor of a private school last month. CCTV footage shows him running upstairs before the jump. The student, a two-time national champion, sustained leg fractures and spinal injuries but is currently stable.
The incident followed a disciplinary action after he made a reel in class. Footage shows teachers dismissing his achievements before the principal announced his suspension. The boy had brought a mobile phone to school two days earlier, which led to a meeting with his parents.

Preliminary investigations suggest stress or fear as possible reasons. Tribal groups have protested outside the school, demanding cancellation of its recognition and the intervention of the district education officer.
