[VIDEO] Abdul Razzaq "The only way Mickey Arthur will leave Pak coaching job is when he passes away"

There is a definite need for some reform in Pakistan broadcast laws. Its ok to criticize Pakistan players and staff but when we descend to low levels such as what we see below from Abdul Razzaq, then we need to draw the line and some penalties need to be meted out.

In clip below, we have Abdul Razzaq wishing ill on Mickey Arthur so that he can no longer be coach. This type of crass comment cannot be allowed on TV and action should be taken. Otherwise, Pakistan media will descend into chaos and it will be free for all.

Can’t believe someone would say that on TV.

Who said it - Razzaq or Moyo?

In which world is RAzzaq an analyst. Even as a player seemed some one incredibly talented but dumb as well

He is really dumb. Last night in Shahzaib show he was saying team management made blunder by not playing Harris earlier even though I am against his selection as he is test specialist.

So according to him Harris is not good enough for ODIs. And team management should have played him. Two contradictory statements.

Listening to Razzaq analysis really mess up your brain.

Just watched this clip. That is incredibly stupid. How could you wish someone to die. It's just sports. Damn Razzaq is a messed up case.

Also these geo analysts are really stupid. Not one constructive arguments raised. All they talk about is conspiracy and politics. Pathetic time waste.

This is utterly SHAMEFUL. Who the hell does Razzaq think he is? He might be a former player but that does not give him the right to come on national television and wish death on anyone. These comments are even more pathetic when you consider that one of our great former coaches, Bob Wolmer, sadly passed away quite possibly due to the disappointment and crtisism he received after a world cup exit.

Razzaq the cricketer was one of my all time favourites. He played what is widely considered the greatest odi innings of all time. But comments like this taint his legacy much more than that of Mickey.

Disgusting comment but fairly predictable from razzaq and he has yousuf there too whos similar in vein to him

Uneducated bufoons sat on tv talking trash is one thing but wishing death even jokingly is awful

Surely the tv stations should have be accountable for what gets said on tv

Somebody should forward this to PEMRA.

I met Abdul Razzaq once at an airport and his family.

Razzaq seemed aloof and anti-social; I don’t think he’s mentally stable 100% to be honest.

Razzaq is a third class human being, and even that is probably an over promotion.

Abdul Razzaq has been crying for very long time now and he continues to cry/bark. When you don't give the baby attention/look after him then he cries and that is exactly what Razzaq is doing. He should be ashamed of himself for talking like that.

Regrettable, shameful statement by Razzaq. He lost whatever little bit of respect I had for him.

What an atrocious comment to make

Razzak should know better because he did play under Bob Woolmer as well.

Sick comment. Especially after what happened to an ex-coach who does in job in controversial circumstances.

Man, my respect for Razzaq is waning really fast. He is a bit of an introvert and not a smooth talker in general but this is really unacceptable.

Is there anybody Razzaq has not had a problem with ever?

Yousuf, Younus, Akhtar, Razzaq, Malik, Afridi. All of these now ex cricketers have egos bigger than the game. 2007-2012 are the years filled with their performances off the field until Misbah took over. Even then Younus forced his way in 2015 WC squad and then Malik was again forced onto the team in 2019.

I'd take any comment from them with a pinch of salt as however smart they may be, their ego will never allow them to speak their mind.

It seems Razzaq is short of cash, if you follow his activity in the last 12 months.

Firstly, he came out of retirement to play List A cricket last year for PTV with the aim of securing a 2019 PSL contract. Can't believe Qalanders actually gave him a game (last October) to play for them in the Abu Dhabi T20 trophy.

More recently, he begged BCCI (even though he may not have explicitly mentioned them in that video) to give him a coaching stint, so he could work on Pandya's batting.

Accuses India of deliberately losing to England, as he felt their bowlers were not going for wickets. He then brought up Shami's faith and implied that his wickets on the day were no surprise as he's Muslim, so by default an honest trier.

Now he comes up with this. It seems he's so desperate, he's prepared to do anything to get a job, even if it means saying stuff that is well below the waist.

I am not supporting him, but let’s first make it clear what he meant. By that phrase, which people sometimes use in Pak, he is saying « Mickey will only leave the post when he dies» This can also mean when he naturally dies. He is not wishing his death. Even he is not that stupid.

Having said that, when you have had a coach who died in 2007 you should be very careful with comments like these.

I remember Razzaq criticized Younus on TV after the WT20 victory in 2009. Like we won the cup and he sent out the worst outburst ever for Younus and his temperament.

Wow.

That's a messed up comment.

GEO needs to better police their analysts because stuff like this is unacceptable.

Jahil paindoos got big mouth, should learn what is PC thing to say on National Television.

What are the media regulatory authorities doing about such stuff.

Incredible this is being aired and allowed.

How disgusting and shameful. These idiots are giving Pakistan such a bad name.

But I blame the media more, why do they hire these idiots ? Do they not realise the bad name they are giving Pakistan with reprehensible comments like these !

Razzaq is a good example of having no good education meaning no class because he doesn’t think before he speaks.

Some of the Pakistan media is gutter as well for entertaining such low quality personalities.

Some of These ex players exactly know how to become a zero from hero. What a loser this guy has turned out to be. Shows his mentality and sick thinking

Abdul Razzaq, Sikandar Bakht and Mohammad Yousuf, what an epic panel... for all the wrong reasons.

I guess its all about making money these days. Whatever sells.

There has to be ethics.

If someone said that on Sky Sports the channel and the player would be hauled up in front of the authorities.

you summed it up really well. Razzaq being the illiterate that he is, would not be able to find any other meaningful source of income. An arm chair critiic is the only job he can do right now.

I am lost for words. Such disgusting and shameful remarks.

Indeed he's looking for views. Only thing he needs to do now is open his own Youtube account :))

I feel sad that a former international cricketer has to retort to such desperate means to make ends meet. I only have seen pictures of former Indian hockey players living in poverty, doing menial jobs like security jobs etc. But thankfully Indian cricketers are well secured financially for life.

Xenophobia isn't far away from some of our players it seems. I say that because this isn't the first time they've targeted non-brown individuals before.

Razzaq is an absolute disgrace.

I think one of the reasons people like Tanvir Ahmed and Abdul Razzaq are made part of the shows is due to this particular reason that they have the tendency to make such pathetic comments and limelight goes to the shows which we otherwise might not even have been discussing.

Not to take his side but I think he meant it colloquially - like Mickey is immovable. Used sometimes in Pakistan about bosses, politicians, bureaucrats etc. Maybe in poor taste but common.

I don't think Razzaq wished death on the guy.

Seriously poor choice of words though. He is on TV, should know what to say and how to say it. Absolutely inane.

Equally, serious drama queen PPers, holier than thou.

Are these TV shows broadcasted live?. It should be obvious to anyone with basic education that these type of comments should be beeped or edited out. But i guess controversy sells

This is the worst statement I have ever come across.

Dreadful.

No he also said this:

“In my opinion, Bob was a very shrewd operator. He was a coach just by nature of his job. Bob knew how to spend his time. For me, he must surely be one of the cleverest Britishers. On the surface he acted Asian but inside he was only interested in keeping his job, irrespective of victory or defeat,” he was quoted as saying. “Bob knew the art of how to get his way out. His main objective was to earn money and nothing else. His being coach made no difference to the team,” he said.

Is there anybody Razzaq has not had a problem with ever?

I’ve said it again and again and again

Most bitter person ever

There used to be an Aussie poster who used to say ‘Razzaq sookin’ again’

Disgusting comment, but I expect nothing else from most of these former cricketers who generally just reek of illiteracy and ignorance.

And this guy wanted to lead the national team. Just imagine what kind of a captain he would've been? Competition for Moyo :))

This bilateral series hero with performance here and there should see himself and talk what he did for Pakistan in World cups.

1) Dropped Sachin in 2003 world cup. Could not bat, could not bowl or field
2) 2011 : What was he even doing in the team. Could not bat when team needed him the most. People criticized Misbah for slow approach. Actually Misbah thought highly about Razzaq that this guy will accelerate. But what happened is history (bowled by the fastest bowler Munaf Patel)

His match winning performances are majorly against SL, NZ, SA when they visited UAE/Pak.

Cut the guy some slack, i think he meant it metaphorically.
I dont believe he would insinuate Arthur's death.

If Abdul Razzaq has any decency, he would apologize to Mickey Arthur and apologize for this comment publicly. He went overboard with this comment.

Cant believe he said that. There isn't much the authorities can do about this. However, the media is so baisharam so what do you expect. All media outlets should not give this guy any airtime and it is up to the people to make it happen. They need to start boycotting these outlets until they get their act together

As much as I don't like the 'analysis' of this Razaq-Moyo-Bakht trio, he was saying it metaphorically.

If you've lived in PAK and know the language, then you know it's said about people who annoy you a lot and don't seem to leave something.

Of course, very poor choice of words.

But some posters here are having a meltdown and taking this conversation towards Razzaq's "wish", where he didn't wish this on Arthur at all.

If Razzaq was in Mickey's he wouldn't leave either. Our coach won't be bothered by what frustrated ex players think.
