'Anti-Semitic' remark or Western media's hypocrisy? FM Qureshi's CNN interview sparks debate

This is not out of any benevolence. Its because if they annex Gaza and the West Bank the population of a "Greater Israel" will be 50% Jewish 50% Palestinian.

If arab demography is the reason why Israel left Gaza in 2006, why aren't they leaving the West Bank then ?

And what alternative does Palestine have? Are they waiting for divine intervention and the fulfillment of some religious prophecy?

Push for a One State Solution.

Lebanon was around 80% Christian, however out of greed they added additional Muslim areas of Syria to make "Greater Lebanon". This doubled the size of Lebanon, however it reduced the Christian population to 60%. Today Lebanon is a Muslim majority country.

Their are some Israelis Jews who out of greed will be willing to annex the West Bank, as their will still be a Jewish majority in the land.

Their is no Saladin coming to save the Palestinians. Only way they get their land back is by eventually becoming a majority again.

If arab demography is the reason why Israel left Gaza in 2006, why aren't they leaving the West Bank then ?

Various reasons. First is security, their major population areas will be under risk if Palestinians control that land. Second they view that land as religiously important. Third they have a desire that eventually through making life so difficult for Palestinans that they leave, and keep on bringing in Jewish immigrants from all over the world that they can annex it one day and keep a Jewish majority.

Demographics are the only reason they have not annexed the West Bank as yet. They annexed Golan and East Jerusalem, and the residents there have an option for Citizenship.

Yep. In 47 Israel should not have been created and it was a travesty to the native population, that a bunch of Europeans with no ties to the land were sent there because allegedly their ancestors lived there 2,000 years ago.

India didn't like Pakistan being carved up into a separate state either but they ultimately agreed to it. The situation is no different with Israel being carved out of British mandated Palestine.

Slight difference There was no india Just various different ethnic religion and multi languagr states and people

Muslims werent being shipped from europe america and the world to live there as jews were

Muslims were living on the land and were natives of that land and got a piece of it

Of course its different.

1 - First of India was not divided, it was Punjab and Bengal, and that too because the Hindus/Sikhs wanted it to be divided.

2 - West Punjab, East Bengal, Sindh, etc, and other areas that became Pakistan, do not belong to the people from Tamil Nadu, or Kerala, or Orissa, etc.

3- Their was no significant non Muslim population in KPK and Balochistan. Punjab and Bengal were divided. Only in Sindh was their a significant non Muslim population. If that's unfair that Sindh was not divided, then Muslims can feel the same of UP, Bihar, Rajasthan not being divided.

4- And most importantly Muslims in those regions that became Pakistan were not recent immigrants to the land. They were the natives. Their ancestors are a mix of natives who converted to Islam, and people who came from outside the subcontinent centuries ago and intermarried with locals. So everyone at this point has native blood. Everyone speaks the local languages. Everyone know the local culture.

Huge difference from a bunch of Europeans, who looked European, who spoke European languages, who had a European culture from immigrating on the basis of their ancestors allegedly living their 2,000 years ago.

In 103 you stated that Israel's land was bought and paid for. The article concludes that Jewish settlers only bought a miniscule amount over history. majority of the land was taken by force, alot taken by force even prior to 1948 Arab Israeli war.

And that's where Nakba comes in.
In 136 you said the partition was done fairly with respect to Jewish and Palestine majority areas. This is false because if it was a majority for Israelis already why in 1948 BEFORE Arab Israeli war would there be a need for Israeli militias to clear out and expel 600 villages and 700,000 Palestinians in the Israel portion of land in the UN plan?

Sorry but these are extremely silly and racist arguments you are making. European or not, they are Jews who immigrated there like many people do, did hard work and created communities legally by buying land.
There were also hundreds of thousands local Sephardic Jews in the neighbouring Arab states who joined hands with these immigrant Jews to create this vision of Jewish nation.

Let me stress the important word here : LEGAL

Israeili militias did not do most of the 'clearing'. Most of the palestinians who fled Palestine during the 1948 war did so at the behest of invading Arab commanders who spared them their lives and told them to go to neighbouring Arab states and take refuge there.

Not one group in the world would be happy with outsiders coming into their land and making them a minority. Especially outsiders who do not assimilate with locals.

Do you think English people want to be a minority in England? Even the most liberal English person would not want that to happen.

Why exactly do you think Palestinians should have been happy with their land being partitioned? It might have been legal but you cant expect them to have liked it.

There were also hundreds of thousands local Sephardic Jews in the neighbouring Arab states who joined hands with these immigrant Jews to create this vision of Jewish nation.

Apparently they came from everywhere but Palestine. People in Japan would agree that Jews being persecuted in Europe and in Arab countries was wrong. However they would not want to give any part of Japan up so Jews could have their own country. Same way Palestinians did not want to pay for the sins of others.

The palestinians natives werent a part of these discussions how could this be legal

They arent a silly racist argument Jews from outside europe were being shipping into and given a state Thats a fact They had no right on the land being partitioned for them At best they shouldve lived under a free palestine

Its not the same as the subcontinent partition Because these were not ethnically people of the region

Both of you are wrong and peddling an outright lie. There is no dispute about the origins of the war. Claiming Israel started the six-day war is like saying the Taj Majal was built by the Vikings.

This is straight from the horse's mouth, General Nasser of Egypt, then leader, “We knew the closing of the Gulf of Aqaba meant war with Israel . . . the objective will be Israel’s destruction.”

Come again? If Nasser wanted Israel’s destruction in 1967, letting his Air Force get destroyed on the ground wasn’t the way to go about it. Clearly Egypt was not prepared.

The fake pir got a hero’s welcome on his return from New York, giving the impression that his presence and thunderous statements made Israel blink.

Read it again bro I said BEFORE the Arab Israeli war. Nakba happen prior to Arabs entering 1948 war

Nakba is a term used to describe Palestinian refugee exodus both before and DURING the 1948 war.
So, who caused the Nakba to happen ?

At best they shouldve lived under a free palestine

Its not the same as the subcontinent partition Because these were not ethnically people of the region

Jews did not want to live as second class citizens under Arab rule in a single binational state .. just like muslims of Pakistan did not want to live as second class citizens in a joint India-Pak union state in 1947. Hence both demanded partition.

Do you understand ?

Why exactly do you think Palestinians should have been happy with their land being partitioned? It might have been legal but you cant expect them to have liked it.

This was NOT their land.

Palestine was not a political entity or state in any meaningful sense. They were Arabs living scattered over a region defined by various states of Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and the Palestine area of today, governed at different times by the Egyptians, Ottamans and the British .. just like, as you say, India never existed as country before 1947.

Do you understand ?

What do you mean its not their land?

Its the land of the people living on it It doesnt matter who ran the area or governed it or whether they had a state or not

There were millions of palestinians living on the land generation upon generation It wasnt unoccupied

There were BOTH palestinian Arabs and Jews living in that land even though the latter was a minority. When the time came to establish a country after the British said they were leaving, it was decided to partition the land and give self-determination to the people - just like the British partitioned India and Pakistan.

Theres plenty of people around the world that dont have a state for themselvesThe kurds, tamils, uighurs catalans

Just because you demand one it doesnt mean you should or will get one

Id hazard a guess there were hardly a million jews in palestine at partition Hardly a significant number to give them a state

To force the jews on the palestinians without them being part of the negotiations was always going to create an issue

Agreed, so Pakistan should never have existed either.

Ive discussed this, a lot of jews werent palestinian born and bred they were white and or european , and why the partition was a raw deal for the palestinians getting less than half of the land even though they had a significant majority in terms of population.

Kindly stop equating the 2 as the same pls

You are making up stuff now. The Jews in Israel were a mix of palestin jews, european Jews and sephardic Jews from the jewish communities of the middle east and North Africa.

and why the partition was a raw deal for the palestinians getting less than half of the land even though they had a significant majority in terms of population.

I have repeated this mutiple times now. Palestinians Arabs rejected the very existence of a Jewish state in Palestine, not the 'raw deal' unfair distribution of the land that they had a problem with.
Even if they were given lots more land, they would have rejected it.

Kindly stop equating the 2 as the same pls

Why ? It is exactly the same situation. Pakistan muslims did not want to live as second class citizens in India so land was partitioned. Am I right or wrong ?

There are no Palestinian Jews

Even the sephardic Jews originated from Spain Portugal and migrated into the ottoman empire, thanks to the Muslims they were allowed to settle in major cities of the ottoman empire including Syria Egypt levant , Romania, Bosnia, Bulgaria , Morocco

Either way sephardic Jews are European origin just like the ashkenazi who came later on during the British mandate and nazi persecutions .

It's like pakistanis born In Bradford claiming a separate homeland 100 200 yrs from now.

Either way sephardic or ashkenazi have no historical right to the land and are occupiers of Palestinian land and part of the apartheid racist state and illegal entity that is Israel.

No its not the same thing The jews barr a minority were not natives to the land

Like i said earlier its like british muslims wanting a separate state in the north of the uk

Its ridiculous

Maybe it shouldn't have, but both sides agreed to it. In Palestine, the arab population weren't given a choice.

The Jewish population and Arab population were consulted by the British and they couldn't agree on anything. So, the British before leaving Palestine left the decision to the UN, who drew up a partition plan.

The UN lol weve seen the UN in action on the palestine israel issue

Its a play thing for the west to use and push its agendas as they see fit

And the partition plan was wholly inadequate for the palestinians and biased hence the resentment and fall out to this day

The reasons indisns are supporters of Israel because they are similar in committing the same crime against kashmiris .

So Israel is someone they look up to justify their crimes in kashmir.

Hence why bakhts are so touchy and sensitive

'India' only support Isreal because they hear the word, 'Muslim' or 'Islam'.

As for Isreal, their own Torah states - curse be the ground you walk on for you shall never see peace.

Jews 'were' the chosen ones, not after they decided to build a golden calf and worship it.

It pays to read the small print.

Pakistani FM spoke two words, hard hitting truths, which has made the Zionists and their lackeys draw tears.

Im not sure CNN will interview him again. :)

Im still waiting for Robert and other to explain how those two words are racist? Its laughable if people actually believe they were.

If all it takes are 2 words, the it proves just how deep Zionists lies are. Zionists fabricated the number of deaths in the holocaust just so it could tally up with the 6M to perish prophecy in the Talmud allowing Jews to return to a land from which they were banished from.

They creates a law to protect a lie, but claim it's to protect the truth (no law in human history is design to protect the truth) except the Holocaust . The truth doesn't need defending.

The truth however is those who support Zionism (even on PP) only care about degrading Islam.

We can see how Isreal have helped India in the C19 crisis - Isreal dont give a flying f of India.

UK generations have been brainwashed, don't expect them to think for themselves.

So what will Israel’s policy be after the thunderous statements by Pir saab?

Are they quaking in their boots right now?

You're a newbie. There's no change in Isreali political policy, but the fact Isreal is crying over 2 words, and Isreal supporters for that matter are chiming in, tells you how weak and fraudulent Zionism is, so much so, their mass brainwashing just doesn't work in the East. You know why? Jews don't control the media in the East. If only you lived in the West.

I get it, you only post to rile up Pakistanis and Muslims. :)

Netanyahu tweeted a thank you to numerous nations(with flags) but left out India lol. India has a long history of being taken for a ride, used & abused like a mule to do the donkey work, nothing much will change now with RSS mindset firmly in heads of most Indians.

Yes, questioning even simple numbers or details of what is a 'historic event' is also seen as antisemitism. They will not allow anyone to change their fabricated version of history or to add other truths to it such as the majority of Rabbis in Germany, mostly high profile figures who didnt want to a state for the Jews based on their religious teachings were killed in WW2.

Its rather childish & cowardly to support & cheer for Israel (Because they are killing Muslims) because one enjoys attack Islam. Such idiots need to realise, Islam is here to stay, it will be here hundreds of years after Israel has long gone , like previous crusader outposts.

I can’t explain it in any simpler terms. Can I suggest you attend diversity training?

There's no explanation because the 2 words are not racist. If this was a case of defending coloured people, your responses would differ.

Time to let go of the media brainwashing and to start thinking for yourself.

Facts don't care about feeling.

More knife crime is carried out by blacks in the London - fact.

Western media and banks are controlled by Jews, go look at the public records - fact.

Don't let lefty liberalism destroy what is left of any humanitary semblance.

Jewish Israeli privilage is the biggest form of privilage in history.

One eg. A British Jew can join the IDF, murder children, return and get a heros welcome. No Muslim would ever be allowed to fight with Palestinians who are occupied.

Is Shah Mehmood Qureshi the fake pir aware of the fact that Pakistan has the blood of thousands of Palestinians on its hands?

Does anybody expect Israel to be bothered by what pakistan says? They don't have any relations. What exactly will pakistan do?

I don’t know about quaking but they certainly are crying. His statement seems to have really hurt

I have seen Indians holding banners saying «Hindus stand with Jews». Jews are laughing at them openly calling them «cow worshippers» and cow dung eaters. Indians are bringing religion into this because of their hatred towards muslims.

Abrahmic Jews are even stricter against idol worship.

There are however Indian Jews who have moved to Israel. Their situation is far wose(BBC article), similar to black Jews.

This is how they are treated.

'Return to the promised land'

Most of the Bene Israeli population - thought to number around 80,000 - came from the western Indian state of Maharashtra.

A few who migrated in the 50s and 60s recall that before leaving India they were readied for their "return to the promised land" by being taught Hebrew and a few basic Jewish prayers.

But for many families, the migration did not go as smoothly as hoped.

Mr Gudekar says that like many others of his community, his family were discriminated against because of their darker skin colour and because they could not speak fluent Hebrew.

They were allotted an inferior home, built of asbestos, and tin. Mr Gudekar says his father often regretted leaving their life in India.

But, he says, going back was not an option as they had burned all their bridges with Mumbai.

Dr Weil said the community was up in arms. "They used to conduct sit-in strikes outside the chief rabbinate's office saying they were Jews for more than 2,000 years and had the right to marry who they wanted."

It took two years, but they finally succeeded in seeing their demands fulfilled.

Many in the community are much happier today, and intermarriage between Jews from various communities is now common.

Is Shah Mehmood Qureshi the fake pir aware of the fact that Pakistan has the blood of thousands of Palestinians on its hands?

Pakistan as a nation does NOT have blood on its hands. Clarity and sincerity of thought needed.

Is Shah Mehmood Qureshi the fake pir aware of the fact that Pakistan has the blood of thousands of Palestinians on its hands?

You are just like leader of a right wing political party here in Norway. Just throwing in random statements out of no where.
There are a lot of question marks of Pakistan’s involvement in Black September. Some even say that Zia wasn’t even involved when the battles started as Syria backed out. Jordan called those palestinians for terrorists who attempted to kill King Hussain twice. Yasir Arafat even met Zia a few times after this and witnesses say there were no bitterness.
As you can see there are debate about Pakistan’s involvement. I am not defending Pakistan here for killing innocent muslims, Just saying that things are not as clear as you put out here.

Finally, let say Pakistan killed thousand of Palestinians in 1970 and you can condemn the assaults alright?

But why are you bringing that up today? Can’t people change their opinion 50 years later?

What about Germany who killed millions of Jews, shall people hate Germans for ever even though they themselves regret what their leader did back then? Heck Netanyahu met the German ambassador the other day and discussed current affairs.

You really should stop acting like a fool when you concider yourself as the most intelligent Pakistani living.

Question for Robert

Such privilege doesn’t exist in the UK. Anti-Jewish racism here is worse now than at any time in my life.

Clearly such privilege exists in the Occupied Territories, what with all the evictions and demolitions.

Indian workers(non Jews) are also treated poorly esp if they manage to bear children in Israel. Israel does not like anyone other than a Jew being born and will detain(even babies) and deport them.

Israel Arrests Family of Indian Migrant Workers, Including Israeli-born Children, Ahead of Deportation

Its ironic Israel cries antisemitism, yet it is arguably one of the most racist entites in human history. The notion Jews are a race and as a race they can take land what they believe is theres, is the most racist concept in history, nothing even comes close.

American media and both political parties are badly infested by pro-Israel lobbies and we here in USA ac accustom to hear very pro-Israel propaganda whenever there an Israel-Palestine issue in headlines. But CNN , thanks to all it major anchorman , including Wolf Blitzer ( he started his career in Israel ) being Jews , has taken the pro-Israel support to a new level. Its not only biased but also cruel and heartless .

Very commonly we see a 10 second video clip of Gaza followed by a long reports and interviews of the Israelis with their stories of effect on their lives due to conflict. Many of them even could not have a good night sleep due to the noise .

Israelis hate Pakistani for the obvious reason and the interview taken by some low level very pro-Israeli journalist who in the very beginning tried to put SMQ under pressure with an idiotic blame of hib being anti-semitic . But t0 my surprise , SMQ did very well. He chose his words carefully and spoke vert well .

I thinks he has been of the better Pakistani foreign minister in recent times.

The muslims in India are also not pakistanis. RSS isnt pakistani. Babri masjid was not in pakistan. Cow slaughtering ban or CAA or NRC are not in pakistan. Why does your country talk about them. When you poke your nose into others business, someday others will return the favour.

India also has another big reason to talk about minorities of pakistan as 100s or even 1000s migrate to India and live as refugees.

They are Israelis, who willingly left India to take Israeli citizenship. Not Indians.

This isn’t about Pakistan though. This is about India, even if they willing left they are still Indian. Millions of Indians willing left their country for Europe or North America, does that mean you don’t consider them Indian anymore? In fact we have some very “patriotic” modi loving Indian posters here who are citizens of US/UK, do you not consider them Indian? This is an interesting take.

Anyways hopefully one day you guys get a government that can speak up for the Indian immigrants suffering in Israel.

Palestine is also a humanitarian issue, people/government all over the world have spoken up about it. Some of the top actors/athletes have spoken about it, it’s not just a Pakistani thing. I think Indian people are the only non-Israeli people to vocally support Israel. Majority of the people around the world have been either pro-Palestine or have been quiet.

He could have worded better and just focused on Israel's illegal occupation and it's persecution of Palestinians. Since Islam is one of Abrahamic religions, he should have said something about anti-semitism as well. Appeal for Muslims in western countries.

Netanyahu tweeted a thank you to numerous nations(with flags) but left out India lol..

Of course Netanyahu won’t thank India, it hasn’t taken a one sided position in support of Israel.

When it comes to India’s official position in the ongoing conflict, it has been more neutral. India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador, T.S. Tirumurti had tweeted saying he told the UNSC meeting on Tuesday that India was “Deeply concerned at clashes and violence in Haram Al Sharif/Temple Mount” and “equally concerned about evictions in Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan neighbourhoods”. He called on both sides to avoid changing the status quo on the ground and noted that Jerusalem also houses an Indian Hospice, Al Zawiyya Al Hindiyya. He went on to condemn rocket fire from Gaza and urged restraint of all parties calling on them to adhere to UNSC Resolution 2334 (which, voted for 14-0 in 2016, noting that Israel’s settlement activities in Palestinian territories were a “flagrant violation” of international law). India remains committed to the two-state solution, Ambassador Tirumurti said.

Opinion piece:
==

FOREIGN Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was recently interviewed by CNN anchor Bianna Golodryga on ‘Amanpour’ after the UN meeting on the latest Israel-Palestine emergency. In Pakistan, this interview sparked a vigorous debate about whether or not the foreign minister had been antisemitic in his remarks. What exactly did he say that was so wrong?

During the brief interview, in which the foreign minister appeared jet-lagged, but resolute, Qureshi spoke about the need for Israel to stop its aggression. Then he said Israel was losing the media war in the eyes of the world. Golodryga asked him what he meant by that; he responded that Israel had “connections” to the media and then changed that to “they control the media”. When Golodryga pushed back, he added, “Deep pockets.” Immediately, Golodryga accused SMQ of antisemitism. After her accusation, our foreign minister spent the rest of the interview trying to extricate himself.

To Pakistanis, it may not be illogical to point out that Israel has a great deal of influence on the world media. A 2018 study by 416labs.com showed that in five major US newspapers, headlines mentioning Israel were four times more prevalent than those mentioning Palestine; Israeli sources are 250 per cent more likely to be quoted than Palestinian sources. But it is highly unlikely that Israel is directly paying for this disproportionate coverage.

Unfortunately, to Jewish people, suggesting that Jews — or Israelis — control the media, banking or Hollywood counts as antisemitism, as does active Jew-hatred and comparing Jews to Nazis. Antisemitism is not religious prejudice, but classified as racism and ethnic hatred. Legitimate criticism of Israel is not antisemitism, according to many Jews who oppose Israel’s policies towards Palestinians. Other Jews argue that even Jews who criticise Israel are antisemitic.

How does the West define antisemitism?

Many Pakistanis do not give proper consideration to what it means to be accused of antisemitism in the West. Yes, it has been weaponised in order to silence people on the subject of the Palestinian occupation. But like the issue of blasphemy, an accusation of antisemitism can ruin your professional standing, if not your life. Although nobody has died after being accused of being antisemitic, you can lose your job as a reporter, or be denied tenure at a university. If you’re a politician accused of antisemitism, your political career may never recover.

Golodryga, who misnamed Qureshi as ambassador twice instead of foreign minister, could be blamed for using a variety of methods to shut him down on the issue of Israel and Palestine. As well as the antisemitism accusation, she also questioned Qureshi on Pakistan’s silence on China’s Uighurs. While it may be reasonable that Pakistan be questioned on its support for Palestine but its silence on human rights violations in China, Qureshi should have insisted that she stick to the relevant topic and that that discussion could take place at another time.

Rather than alluding to unsupported conspiracy theories on WhatsApp groups and social media, he should have merely stated that media bias in favour of Israel cannot change the fact that Israel is in violation of international law and committing war crimes in its continued occupation of Palestine. Our political representatives, instead of trying to expose a worldwide Zionist plot, must educate themselves on what constitutes antisemitism in the international arena and be utterly scrupulous about leaving it all out of any public discourse.

Recent tweets from a Pakistani actress and a freelance reporter (who was then fired from CNN) misquoting Hitler were retweeted by many Israel supporters as ‘evidence’ that Pakistan is a deeply antisemitic country. Once the word ‘antisemitism’ is mentioned, all our credibility as honest brokers goes out the window in the eyes of the West, especially as we are a Muslim country. This label would take away our ability to use our voice in international forums to advocate for causes like Palestine and Kashmir; an antisemitic nation with nuclear capabilities would not just be vilified but restricted on many levels. At the very least, it could have negative repercussions for our attempts to get off the FATF grey list.

Even the Palestinians who are grateful for our support have said that antisemitism does not help them get out of the living nightmare they’re in. In a world that is changing the discourse about the Israeli-Palestine conflict, thanks to social media and the amplification of Palestinian voices, this is not the right time for Pakistanis to revert to what are wi**d*e***ly seen as antisemitic tropes and stereotypes. Our spokespeople need intensive me**dia coaching on how to avoid them while still making valid points on international media and at world fora. This will elevate the dialogue around peace and justice to the benefit of the Palestinians and improve Pakistan’s standing in the eyes of the world.

'Israel's entire existence depends on ethnically cleansing Palestine.' Richard Medhurst

Zionist backed media manipulates facts to keep their 'victim status'

These psychopaths are masters at spinning stories. I consider them worse than actual Zionist Settler Terrorists who murder Palestinians. The worse of humanity.

Israel carries out the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and robs them of their homes, yet it pretends it’s the victim

The Israelis are seeking to reframe their occupation of Palestine as something else, in order to hide their inhumane oppression. What's happening in Gaza is not a ‘war’ nor a ‘conflict’, but a brutal military colonization.
Israel launched its latest offensive against the Gaza strip on May 10, bombing the Palestinian enclave by land and air. For several weeks prior, tensions had swelled in occupied Palestine, as Israeli forces cracked down on Palestinian protesters. At the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem, protests began against restrictions that Israel imposed on gatherings during the Holy Month of Ramadan. Meanwhile, Palestinians also marched against Israel’s plans to evict families living in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, and the protests became intertwined.

While Israeli mobs marched through the streets unimpeded, damaging Palestinian-owned stores and chanting “Death to Arabs,” Palestinians were met with a brutal backlash from Israeli police, culminating in Israeli forces storming the Al-Aqsa mosque, firing tear gas and rubber coated bullets at people as they prayed, injuring more than 90.

Israel’s desecration of the third holiest site in Islam drew international condemnation and Hamas, which runs Gaza, demanded that Israel immediately withdraw from the mosque. This was ignored, so Hamas responded with rockets. Israel then began its offensive, which continued for eleven days. Thousands of reservists were also called up, prompting fears of a ground invasion.

Israel’s Dahiya doctrine: ‘punish, humiliate and terrorize a civilian population’
Like previous wars against Gaza in 2009 and 2014, Israel purposely targeted public and health infrastructure – a hallmark of its military strategy, and a war crime under the Geneva Convention.

Israel put a desalination plant out of action which provided water to hundreds of thousands. Electricity lines were cut leaving barely five hours of power a day. Water mains were damaged so that sewage overflowed onto streets. The main road leading to al-Shifa hospital, the enclave’s biggest, was bombed, and other clinics were damaged. The only laboratory able to do Covid-19 tests was rendered inoperable.

Health workers and residents described horrific scenes of loved ones and neighbors buried alive under rubble, and of having to dig out dead bodies. By the end of the assault, 12 Israelis had died; while 242 Palestinians were killed, among them 23 girls and 43 boys. Around half were women and children.

Several Palestinian families were entirely wiped out. Dr Ayman Abu al-Ouf, one of Gaza’s most renowned medical specialists, was killed in an airstrike on his home, alongside 12 members of his family.

The IDF’s twitter account proudly tweeted a graphic saying, “200+ terrorists neutralized.”

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, almost 2,000 Palestinians were wounded. It was reported that at least 2,000 housing units were destroyed and an additional 15,000 homes damaged.

Several residential buildings were completely leveled by airstrikes. On May 15, Israel bombed the offices of the Associated Press and Al Jazeera in Gaza. This was met by silence and feigned concern by Western liberal democracies, whose appreciation of a free press did not extend to Palestine that day.

Disproportionate force has always been a core pillar of Israel's military, known as the Dahiya doctrine, which dates back to the 2006 war against Lebanon, and which was ruthlessly implemented against Gaza in 2009 and onwards.

Gaza is one of the most densely populated places on Earth, with two million Palestinians living on a tiny strip of land under blockade from Egypt and Israel since 2007. Its residents live at the mercy of a military occupation that bombs them with impunity, shielded by Western nations who whitewash its crimes.

On several occasions at the United Nations Security Council, the Biden administration blocked the release of a statement calling for a ceasefire because the language condemned Israel – which Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz thanked the US for in a tweet.

The animosity between Benjamin Netanyahu, whose 12-year tenure as Israel’s prime minister had been at risk, and his political rivals vanished once the strikes began. The attack on Gaza and Hamas bought him a little more time in office.

Protests in support of Palestine erupted worldwide. In London, 100,000 people took to the streets in solidarity. Palestinians themselves held a general strike on May 18. Shops closed as people marched in record numbers against Israel’s crimes. Two people were killed and over 100 were wounded by Israeli occupation forces who fired water cannons, tear gas and rubber bullets at them.

After 11 days of incessant air strikes from Israel and rocket fire from Hamas, a ceasefire was finally brokered by Egypt, entering into effect on May 21, 2am local time. Israel continued its bombings until the last minute. In the days after, Israeli police again entered the compound of Al-Aqsa mosque, firing tear gas and providing armed escorts to Jewish settlers who showed up in an act of provocation.

While the shelling may have stopped for now, the blockade and occupation have not. Gaza remains the world’s largest open-air prison, its residents unable to leave or rebuild, as generations continue to live in the ruins of one conflict after the other.

‘Israel’s right to defend itself’
A point often raised in Western political discourse is “Israel's right to defend itself.” What of the Palestinian people? Do they not have a right to defend themselves? Are they expected to just tolerate apartheid, occupation and violence? How can a colonizer speak of defending themselves, when their very presence and occupation is an act of oppression? When one speaks of defense, then it is surely the unequivocal right of Palestinians to defend themselves, as millions of them remain stateless on their own land, dispossessed of their homes and human rights.

Israel claims to only target “terrorists” and “militants,” yet half the casualties, if not more, are always civilians. Decimating infrastructure and residential buildings is not defense. Leveling schools, hospitals, UN buildings and the offices of the international press is not defense. One of the most advanced militaries in the world unleashing its wrath on a civilian population without an army, let alone an air force or navy, is not defense. This is offense; it is cruel, barbaric aggression in its most violent form.

In a recent conversation I had with Palestinian Ambassador to Austria Salah Abdel-Shafi, he eloquently summarized how the Palestinian issue poses a fundamental problem for so-called Western liberal democracies who claim to champion human rights and equality, while giving Israel carte blanche as it denies Palestinians their human rights and levels their homes with no repercussion.

Israel is never held to account and sits above international and humanitarian law, annexing, colonizing and killing with impunity.

Its entire existence depends on ethnically cleansing Palestine and robbing Palestinians of their homes to make way for settlers from around the world. Israel wants to control the narrative around its actions, pretending that it is a victim and that this is all about Hamas.

This is naught but an attempt to reframe the occupation of Palestine and Israeli apartheid as something else in order to hide the oppression and inhumane behavior. What's happening in Palestine is not a ‘war’ nor a ‘conflict’, it is a brutal military occupation which seeks to ethnically cleanse Palestine in order to make way for Jewish settlers. It's colonization. The Palestinian cause is fundamentally rooted in human rights; in anti-imperialism and anti-racism. It is and always has been the story of resistance against colonizers.

There you have it people.

Zionists can kill entire families with total impunity because 'free and democratic' media got their back and are working tirelessly to paint these Zionist terrorists as the victims. The irony.

Of course, if you call them out, they will jump at you accusing you of "Anti-Semitism" and what not!

:))) :))) :)))

Shah Mehmood Qureshi is being welcomed as if he has conquered Israel.

Imran received a similar welcome home in July 2019 when he won the World Cup with Trump in White House where Trump promised him to intervene in Kashmir.

A month later, India revoked Kashmir’s special status and Imran’s World Cup was destroyed.

No wonder the whole world laughs at us and no one takes us seriously.

A “historic” visit because the foreign minister of a country swimming in FATF grey list and living on loans of institutions and other countries “showed eyes” to Israel.

He said Israel has "deep pockets" and talked about their influence on the media. Whether right or wrong, he said exactly what many Pakistanis feel. Not to mention many other people in the world, however they are too afraid to say it.

He made a anti Semitic remark on live television, got called out immediately and coming from a high ranking pakistani official, it damaged pakistan's reputation, not Israel's.

Anti Semitic remark - in their view.

Remember there is no worldwide definition of what constitutes this.

He got called out mostly by networks like CNN and NYT. I thought you considered those networks to be fake news when they reported about India, what changed? Who else called out SMQ expect a few left leaning newspapers?

An open letter to Joe Biden by Democratic Staffers

Dear President Biden,

We write to you as proud alumni of your campaign. Each of us worked tirelessly in your headquarters and in states across the country to ensure your victory. We were motivated by the unprecedented progressive platform of your campaign that believed in the dignity of every human being, and the existential need to defeat Trumpism and its contrary values. We commend your efforts to broker a ceasefire. Yet, we also cannot unsee the horrific violence that unfolded in recent weeks in Israel/Palestine, and we implore you to continue using the power of your office to hold Israel accountable for its actions and lay the groundwork for justice and lasting peace.

The very same values that motivated us to work countless hours to elect you demand that we speak out in the aftermath of the recent explosive violence in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, which is inextricable from the ongoing history of occupation, blockade, and settlement expansion. We remain horrified by the images of Palestinian civilians in Gaza killed or made homeless by Israeli airstrikes. We are outraged by Israel’s efforts to forcibly and illegally expel Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah. We are shocked by Israel’s destruction of a building housing international news organizations. We remain horrified by reports of Hamas rockets killing Israeli civilians.

While Israelis had to spend nights hiding in bomb shelters, Palestinians in the Gaza Strip had nowhere to hide. It is critical to acknowledge this power imbalance — that Israel’s highly-advanced military occupies the West Bank and East Jerusalem and blockades the Gaza Strip, creating an uninhabitable open-air prison. While we should never reduce the loss of human life to numbers, Palestinians have suffered hundreds of casualties, demonstrative of Israel’s power over Palestinians and its penchant for disproportionate responses. Israel’s protracted refusal to consider a ceasefire also put Israelis in harm’s way, prolonging the violence of Hamas’s barrage of rockets and Israel’s air strikes — a cycle that is bound to repeat itself as long as we allow the status quo to stand, where Palestinians have no freedom and Israel controls their lives in perpetuity.

As you tweeted last month, “No responsible American president can remain silent when basic human rights are violated.” We could not agree more. That is why we ask you to unequivocally condemn Israel’s killing of Palestinian civilians. We thank you for your work to end the most recent round of violence between Israel and Hamas. To ensure a lasting ceasefire and a future of peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians, we ask that you work to end the underlying conditions of occupation, blockade, and settlement expansion that led to this exceptionally destructive period in a 73-year history of dispossession and ethnic cleansing. The resulting status quo is one that international and Israeli human rights organizations agree meets the definition of the crime of apartheid under international law. Finally, we are deeply concerned that Israel continues to use U.S.-funded military equipment to kill civilians, target journalists, and violently suppress protests in Israel, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.

We appreciate your recent work to broker a temporary peace, and we also acknowledge that a temporary peace is not a suitable long-term resolution. We are firm in our belief that it is time for your administration to take concrete steps to end the occupation in pursuit of justice, peace, and self-determination for Palestinians. To that end, we call on you to take the following actions:

Demand that the Israeli government:

 • Allow a humanitarian corridor in Gaza to allow for the evacuation of the injured, as well as for the supply of life-saving medicines;
 • Take action to protect Palestinians in Israel subject to ongoing violent attacks by Israeli mobs that operate with the protection of Israeli police;
 • Lift the blockade of Gaza, which has made it an uninhabitable open-air prison;
 • End the forced expulsions of Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah and from all Palestinian homes across the territories;
 • End settlement expansion in the West Bank.

And,

 • Join our international allies in calling for an end to Israeli violations of international law, or at minimum, stop obstructing efforts by the United Nations to do so;
 • Ensure U.S. aid no longer funds the imprisonment and torture of Palestinian children, theft and demolition of Palestinian homes and property, and annexation of Palestinian land;
 • Investigate whether Israel’s most recent assault on Gaza violates the Leahy Law, prohibiting U.S. military aid from funding foreign military units implicated in the commission of gross violations of human rights;
 • End federal tax breaks for donations to settler organizations that actively fund the ongoing dispossession and expulsion of Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah and other cities by revoking their 501(c)3 status;
 • Support Palestinians’ right to self-determination.

We joined your campaign to pursue a vision of a nation that believes that every person’s life and fundamental rights are valued. We remain committed to that vision and implore you to take action to ensure that Palestinians and Israelis are able to live in peace and security. Returning to the status quo is untenable, as it deprives Palestinians of peace, security, and self-determination.

Sincerely,

Somewhere in the NYC a Zionist firm is going one by one in this extensive list to attack and destroy lives of the people who have signed this letter.

Western people will never accept any form of fascism or supremacism. These flawed ideologies can flourish in third world countries but everywhere else people will never support bombings of schools and hospitals.

Zionism lobbyists are throwing unprecedented amount of money at different news outlets. They are trying their best to silence all voices who are talking against Zionist barbarism inside and outside of Israel.

This short video explains in a very objective way the power and vileness of Zionists to silence anyone who exposes their absurd hypocrisy. Not recommended for Hindutva Neo-Zionists.

Anti Semitic remark - in their view.

Remember there is no worldwide definition of what constitutes this.

Pakistan's image got tarnished in their eyes only. There are better and stronger ways to put across the Pakistani view without appearing to be anti Semitic in the western world.

Example number 28,769.00 just here on PP of right wing Hindu extremism.
