Captain America-Black Panther Video Game, ‘1943: Rise of Hydra,’ Set for 2025 Release From Epic

Epic Games will be releasing a new Marvel video game, “1943: Rise of Hydra,” in 2025.

The announcement was made at the top of Epic’s “State Of Unreal” presentation at the 2024 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco Wednesday.

Additional news will be coming out of the event, including details about Epic’s eagerly anticipated release of Unreal Engine 5.4.

Epic’s appearance at GDC comes on the heels of the “Fortnite” creator striking a massive deal with Disney. On Feb. 7, the Mouse House revealed it has taken a $1.5 billion stake in Epic Games, marking Disney’s “biggest foray into the game space ever,” and would be creating a “huge Disney universe” in “Fortnite.”

Per further information provided by Disney upon the announcement, “in addition to being a world-class games experience and interoperating with ‘Fortnite,’ the new persistent universe will offer a multitude of opportunities for consumers to play, watch, shop and engage with content, characters and stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, ‘Star Wars,’ ‘Avatar’ and more. Players, gamers and fans will be able to create their own stories and experiences, express their fandom in a distinctly Disney way, and share content with each other in ways that they love.”

Rockstar's GTA VI launch details revealed

Excitement is mounting among gaming enthusiasts as Rockstar Games has announced the release window for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI).

According to Take-Two Interactive's fiscal report, the next instalment in the iconic series is set to launch in fall 2025.

This announcement follows the unveiling of GTA VI's first trailer last December, which confirmed the 2025 release. The newly specified launch window provides eager fans with a clearer timeline for the game's arrival.

GTA VI will be the 8th main installment in the series and the 16th overall, marking a 12-year gap since the release of GTA V. The game promises to introduce new characters, Lucia and Jason, two partners in crime, and will transport players back to the Miami-inspired Vice City, set in the fictional open-world state of Leonida, based in Florida.

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, 2K, and Private Division, has forecast a strong performance for the next fiscal year, projecting a 10% rise in net income over the next 12 months.

The company has also announced the release of other titles, including NBA 2K25, WWE 2K25, and Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game, all slated to launch before March 2025.

GTA VI is one of the most highly anticipated games in recent years. With new characters, an expansive setting, and innovative gameplay, the upcoming release promises to be a thrilling addition to the Grand Theft Auto series, much to the delight of its global fanbase.

What's the best Call of Duty?

I use to play quiet a few WWII themed FPS shooters back in the day, not sure what any of the modern games are like.

The consensus seems to suggest the original COD 4 Modern Warfare is the best ?

I enjoyed Battlefield a few years ago, the WWII themed one, but then I lost it somehow lol I liked the mini campaigns in various scenarios.

I got a used 2k19 on the cheap it seems to be the best reviewed on the ps4, will be interesting how I find it. It got taken off steam and other platforms @RedwoodOriginal , also AEW Fight Forever was like 3 times the price, even a used copy, but I've seen on social media of it being sold for a few dollars in the states lol

Just shows physical copies will still hold value in the future due to licensing, especially the sports titles.

LMAO that doesn't surprise me. I have a friend in the States these days. Will try to get him to find one. Because I certainly ain't spending $40 on this lol. Even if he doesn't find it, I imagine the price will fall drastically soon. As for 2K19. I actually thinks its the best of all the 2K WWE Games ( Minus the last two which I haven't).

And right on about physical media man. I feel like that's true for movies and video-games. That's one of the reasons why I've still hold on to my DVD Player, VCR and PS2.

In the states you have a good bet! to be fair the used one here is about £15 which is not too bad compared to the full price, I think it is more of a buy once it will be <10 quid without all the extras especially.

Ah same always loved keeping the physical stuff until I start to lose it, that's pretty cool you still have the PS2 which games you got for it and do you still play them? I emulate Here Comes The Pain a lot

I got a real treasure trove of PS2 games man. PS2 games here used to cost Rs. 100, which translated to a little over a dollar back then. So I've got everything from all the WWE Games that came out on PS2 to Price of Persia, the Burnout series, Simpsons Hit & Run (which is maybe my favorite PS2 game ever?), Bully, GTA, CoD/MOH, Resident Evil 4, Devil May Cry, God of War, Yakuza 1 & 2. Even weird stuff like Shadow of Colossus which was a b!tch to play and really difficult. For me nothing beats the PS2 era. Lots of nostalgia attached to that era.

Tbh, I haven't really played much since the pandemic. That's when I played alot of emulators too. Namely; SNES, SEGA Genesis, N64, PS1.

Ooooh I think Hit & Run also came out on PC, need to revisit it again and maybe check out the Def Jam games I never played those. Ah Medal Of Honour was lit

Man Cod 4 is an old game but they couldn’t keep it neutral with the western bias, I’ve heard all the new games were like that e.g. West = Good, East & everybody else = Bad. Was expecting a bit more neutrality. Battlefield 1 might still be the best FPS on PS4 ? I may have to stick with the WWII themes which I do like, when it comes to these shooters, and the modern campaigns don’t seem to offer anything better?

Modern 2k WWE wrestling games just don't hit the same way that early Smackdown games and SVR games used to do.

I just got 2k19, the submissions mini-game is horrid, I got tapped out in a few mins lol I got use to the controls after a few matches so I will see how it goes from here. But the older classics like WM 2000 / No Mercy, HCTP and SvR series had that pick up and play ability though which am not sure I am finding that with this game just yet, and it’s meant to be one of the best in the series.

Due to licensing we wont ever get the remastered versions of those classics either and emulation is the best bet.

I am keen to find out what the AEW game is like once it drops to a normal price.

Bruh who cares about the dumb story mode? CoD 4 was all about playing with your mates. I have spent 4 years of uni playing CoD 4 endlessly in gaming zones and online. And Search & Destroy used to be so much fun especially when you were playing 5 v 5 or 6 v 6. Some of the maps in that game like Crash and Crossfire are also legendary. Killhouse and Shipment if you're playing Free For All or TDM.

But yeah, that's kind of a given with the modern CoD games. The villains tend to be the "Islamist terrorists" or Russians. This is why I haven't played any of the story modes in the newer CoD games. Call of Duty 3, which came out on PS2 way back was an excellent game. It was set during WWII and the I remember really liking the story and gameplay.

Have you played Uncharted? That's one of my favorite game series. The first one is not great. But then it just keeps getting better with 2 and 3. And then you have 4 which is ofcourse the best. As someone who like you, has some interest in history, particularly ancient civilizations, lost cities and myths; I really enjoyed those games...from a story and gameplay perspective. It reminded me alot of Indiana Jones and the sense of adventure and escapism you got from those movies.

Man I revisited it on the emulator and it was so much fun. Would highly recommend. And it gets super difficult at the end, which is a nice challenge. I think this game was pretty ahead of its time, especially as an open world game. I wish they did a remaster of that game.

Tekken 8.

Easily the best beat'em up out there, and I bought the official Tekken 8 Stick too!

Only other AAA title I am waiting for this year is the new Assassin's Creed.

The gameplay in 2k games is too slow and boring. Older wrestling games had fast paced arcade style gameplay, which was fun.

Old wrestling games also had fun season modes and Road to Wrestlemania modes, which featured some wild and crazy storylines. 2k games feature some lame career modes which get boring after a while.

Have Played Assasin's Creed and Tekken 3 like crazy. The other one that I played was EA Cricket 2007, Man, that game is still lit.

Nowadays, if I find some time, I usually play PUBG only.

I would get slaughtered in any FPS multi-player mode 🤣 I give you that, COD 4 multi-player changed the game, I didn’t play it a lot, but next to my college there use to be this games arcade thing and it was full of consoles/screen set-ups where you put in like 50p to £1 and play COD4 co-op, multi-player etc with your mates. Having said that a lot of the folk who loved the multi-player always say how the campaign was equally good for that game and thought I’d try it out. I may try and emulate COD 3 in that case! that has to be the best FPS from the PS2 era potentially.

I keep getting told about Uncharted but still not got around it, think it has to be the best for story telling ever? but because I haven’t played the others, it would take a big time commitment, so I might try The Last Of Us instead as there are only two games in that series, Uncharted may take forever to complete in comparison maybe

After EA Sports 2007, they’ve not made a better cricket game since International Cricket 2010. The Big Ant Cricket games look like utter tripe.

Yeah, man. I used to play for 3-4 hours straight in Test format at the hardest difficulty after coming back from school. Those were the days.

Ah I use to love Tekken on the original playstation and the one which came out on PSP, may check out Tekken 7 for my console I forget they still make these high quality fighting games, best better bet compared to the poor wrestling & combat sport games.

Also, what would you say is the best FPS single player / campaign mode and driving game on PS4 ?

Ghost Of Tusisma is on my list to until I get the PS5, I normally look after a GTA release, by that point developers usually fully exploit the current gen’s technological capabilities / more latest console specific titles

The best Uncharted is terms of setting is 2, and the best one in terms of story is 4.

I actually feel like you can start with 4 and then just go backwards like me, if you like it. 1 is a nice introduction to that world but something you can easily skip. Last of Us is incredible. Definitely play that.

Have you played Red Dead 2? I think that may be my all-time favorite game. Especially because I am a big mark for westerns.

Ghost Of Tusisma is on my list to until I get the PS5, I normally look after a GTA release, by that point developers usually fully exploit the current gen’s technological capabilities / more latest console specific titles
Oh its awesome man. Haven't played it fully but plan to when I get the time. Heavily reminds me of the Samurai films of Kurosawa and other Japanese filmmakers that I fell in love with years ago.

The best Uncharted is terms of setting is 2, and the best one in terms of story is 4.
I love 2 but I actually think 3 has a more interesting story and I loved the Atlantis of the Sands. But 4 is the peak for me interms of story and setting.

The Batman Arkham games are also a thing beauty. One of the strongest game trilogies you'll ever come across. All three games are dynamite and outstanding in every aspect from story, to gameplay and graphics. You don't have to be a comic book fan to enjoy this game, but it certainly helps. And its a treat if you are.

Marvel's Spider-Man is the only game that has come close to replicating that experience. I wish I had a PS5 so I could play Spider-Man 2.

That’s interesting not many folk have said that before, anyhow how long did the first three take to complete?

I’ve played the original, the second is on my list I use to be a sucker to for those westerns on PC like Desperado 🤣

Have you played the original RE HD remaster ? one of the best games I’ve ever played for the gameplay, story and genuine scares (though I did need a walkthrough) I’ve started the RE 2 remaster as well which is meant to be good

Try International Cricket 2010, it’s better then any other game which they’ve made since EA 07
Cannot find much time to play games anymore, especially the PC or plays station ones....Mobile games are still possible so having a go at PUBG for good 3-4 years now.

@RedwoodOriginal @The_KING

WWE 2k19 is actually not too bad has an arcady feel to it in terms of the gameplay, once you get going it’s decent, but the controls are overly complex imo and the submissions mini games is just stupid, do you just keep rotating the right stick to avoid being tapped out ? I still end up losing somehow whenever somebody puts me in a submission.

It got Wolf-Pac Sting with the OG music which is amazing, I used him to beat the crap out of Seth Rollins in the 98/99 RAW is WAR arena, more amusing the match was billed from Birmingham UK 😂

AEW FF is free on the PS Plus membership or while you have it I think, not sure how it works but the cheapest membership is 7 quid and as long as you have the membership, I think you can play the game. Another nail in its coffin, wont stop the geniuses trying to extort the buyers with their season passes and not many people buy them going by Steam, it’s mainly super die hards or You-tubers for content

I wonder what platform people think Arkham Assylum should be played ok best, the OG consoles where it’s more darker/eerie or the remasters for PC/Steam/PS4 where everything looks a bit better but it’s brighter. Am not sure, I played it on Xbox 360 and PS4/Steam, though never completed it, but it’s an epic game and I’ve heard the same for the others.

Many seem to rate the original Spider-Man from PS4 more? and was that like a remaster of the PS1 game? I think it was not sure

I felt 3 was a bit underwhelming but it had a great setting and it gave a good backstory of how Nate met Sully.

Thanks.

Does 2k19 have a good career and showcase mode?

Just finished Red Dead Redemption and what a game. I love the Red Dead Series. By far my favourite video game series of all time. I can’t wait for Red Dead Redemption 3 to drop some time in 2032 lol.

Thanks.

Does 2k19 have a good career and showcase mode?

I’ve not touched on those two modes but I’ve heard they are much better then the ones before it, the showcase is meant to be similar to the better ones they did early on, it focuses on Daniel Bryan. The roster is pretty good it got Sting and a few others who are not under contract now, £6 quid for a used one from any Cex store I thought it would be a good punt to play during the bank holiday lol

Tekken 8 is just amazing. It is built on the latest Unreal engine and it is just the bees knees. Also some of the old moves have come back, and blocking is now easier. The Tekken arcade/Ghost mode/shop are updated regularly too. Kazuya is my offline player, and Law is my online player. Oh the customization is incredible.

Not into FPS, last I played was around Covid (CoD) and that was just to help a few mates too.

Also check out Arslan Tekken competition vids. Pakistani world champ at Tekken 7 got beat in Tekken 8 in the Combo Breaker 2024 finals a few days ago.

COD 4 (Remaster) Campaign is pretty addictive and scarily realistic. It has that western bias but I like the quotes from Sun Tzu and more surprisingly; Yasser Arafat!

Once I complete COD4, targeting the following for the single player experience:

- RE 2
- Arkham Assylum (Completed most of it just never finish lol)
- Uncharted Trilogy
- Last Of Us 1
- Read Dead Redemption 1
- Last Of Us 2
- Uncharted 4

What is your top one or two all time Tekken games across platforms ?

@The_KING @RedwoodOriginal I rarely play the story modes in wrestling games these days, I mostly did for the SvR games which had some crazy storylines lol now I look mainly for the gameplay, and the classics are difficult to top, though I’ve always wanted to play a story focusses on Shawn’s career but don’t think they ever did that and each year his super kick looks worse and worse in the games

Silent Hill is also on my list, the remaster of the 2nd will be coming out on PS5 soon.

So many legendary games came out on PS2, did you ever play SH2 on your PS2 @RedwoodOriginal

This is interesting to say the least, it’s a rumour yet, but am not sure there’s much value in mainly being able to play PS4 games when other handhelds are capable of it. PS5 games would certainly be interesting. Competition is so intense now, Sony are a little late to the party given the noise the Steam Deck has created, whatever Sony come out with, it would have to be something very special to stand out.

If they went down the OG PSP route and developed exclusives specifically for the PSP3 with the physical media, I think that would be amazing!

The original PSP with that build quality, UMD games and movies was nuts looking back.

I saw this too, not sure if it is fake news or not, but I would love a proper PS handheld. I own 2 PSPs, and 3 VITAs (Old and new Gen), and just love it when I go on travels.

Recently bought the PS Portal, which is ok for home use, but cannot play independent games on it.

Shame Sony dropped support for Vita.

Agree it would be amazing, I have the Steam Deck but weirdly use it mainly for emulation compared to AAA titles. There’s a void between the Switch and Steam Deck which the PSP3 could fill.

Which PSP did you prefer most? I use to have the original one which was heavier, but the build quality was the best and it just felt great in the hands. I have the PSP GO now, which I feel is underrated given it’s pocketability.

I never got the Vita, but going by the tech alone it was well ahead of its time and you can do all sorts with it now. It didn’t sell as well which was surprising, maybe it didn’t have enough support for new games titles when the 3DS came out.

Which OG PSP and also Vita games were your favourite?

For me on the OG PSP the earlier wrestling games, God Of War and Liberty City Stories were :aag

I reckon with the PS Portal they were testing the waters maybe we will see something similar to it, more likely now then ever to see a proper handheld from them, just hope it’s not a cash grab

Original PSP and VITA were the best. The weight for one, and second was the screen.

The next gen portables just felt a bit flimsy and not heavy duty.

Did hack my PSP though, those pesky UMD discs were getting too much!

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 rumoured release date surfaces online

The release date for the next Call of Duty, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, has reportedly been revealed, and it's around where you think it would be.

According to information that comes directly from notable reporter Tom Warren at The Verge (who reported the news in his Notepad article, an exclusive article available to people who subscribe to The Verge's premium service), the title will be released on 25 October, which lines up with a consistent string of launches for Call of Duty that all happened in the last quarter of the year.

If true, this date goes along with recent releases in the franchise. Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 was launched 10 November 2023, Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 launched in late September 2022 and the latest game in the Black Ops subseries of Call of Duty, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, was released on 13 November 2020. There's precedent for the Call of Duty franchise releasing in the last quarter of the year, so don't be surprised if this leak turns out to be true and Xbox shows off the release date just after their Xbox Games Showcase on Monday 10 June, in mere days.

Black Ops 6 was first confirmed just over a week ago, after a series of trailers essentially told players not to trust anything they see or anything that they're told by officials. After the game was officially revealed, it was confirmed that a previously revealed mystery showcase, which is taking place just after the Xbox Games Showcase next week, is actually a showcase specifically for the new Call of Duty title, which likely will not only show off the new multiplayer portions from the game, but will also show off what to expect from the story mode.

VITA had an OLED screen if I remember correctly, so ahead of its time in many ways, just needed more exclusives and a better financial model for the digital games and/or physical media.

Yes those loading times and the sound was something lol am more nostalgic about it now in the same way for N64 cartridges. But I also hacked my PSP though I was forced to anyway with the GO not having a UMD drive. I’ve played a lot of Brian Lara Cricket on it, can’t believe it got a PSP release, I remember emailing Codemasters if they had a Tests Mode or if I could unlock it 🤣

Yeah the original VITA-1000 had an OLED, and VITA-2000 LCD.

Brian Lara cricket brings back memories. Square to block, X to stroke, and O for 6! Cannot remember what Triangle did!

I’ve been trying to get the original Brian Lara working using popsloader, its meant to work well ok firmware 3.01 or 3.02, I tried it on the GO it’s a bit off but going to try on the PSP Slim, the gameplay from that first one imo is still the best.

Which PS Vita would you say you prefer between the 1000 & 2000 ? looking to add one of them to my PSP collection

VITA 1000 hands down. I use this bad boy to get some of my toughest plats. It feels and performs rock solid.

VITA 2000 is more of a robust version, which cheaper parts, etc, but just doesn't feel right in my hands but great if you travel a alot. Bit of irony I know, but 1000 is more for the special trips!

That just reinforces my instincts! the reviews on YT and online are almost split down the middle between the two, but the 1000 is stunning and appears to be made so much better, am looking for a white one never had that colour before

It’s funny you said that because I keep the OG PSP for the more special trips 🤣 also due to its build quality / feel in the hands and maybe bit of nostalgia to.

Is the Vita Killzone game the best FPS across all the Sony Portables from that time, probably made good use of the two analogue sticks to

Didn't play Killzone, but the twin stick is brilliant. Assassins Creed, Uncharted, Resogun - never failed.

Remote play was a bit hit and miss though but that's more down to the network. Though not sure if the V1000 can remote play to PS5.

On a normal PSP with custom firmware 6.60, using pops loader 3.02 you can play LOI cricket from the OG Brian Lara with the legendary commentary from Richie Benaud! I will try to figure out how you can play Test cricket which is more challenging but already this is better then Lara Pressure play imo

Just discovered while it’s tricky to pull of a test series, you can still play the test season mode! essentially you pick a team and then play the series for your team for all the seasons between 1991-1999! Test Cricket finally on the PSP!!

I am touring Sri lanka at the moment with Australia, I won the toss in Kandy (decent beach graphics tbh) and elected to bat, after 5 overs was something like 30/4 lol you really need to pick your shots in this game aha and actually watch where the ball goes before you bloody run

Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia with a $60 mln prize: All you need to know

Saudi Arabia is gearing up to host its debut Esports World Cup (EWC) in Riyadh with prize pool of over $60 million in July.

The prize pool is the largest ever in the industry, to be divided into four categories – game championships ($33 million), player bounties ($1 million), qualifiers ($7 million), and a cross-game competitive format club championship ($20 million).

The cross-game event will provide clubs a unique opportunity to try their hand at various games, gather points and divide the total sum based on ranking.

The annual event will be held from July 3 to August 25 at the Riyadh Boulevard City.

The organizers dubbed the event an “elite multi-genre esports competition” which is expected to see over 1500 players with 30 esports clubs across 21 gaming titles.

The initiative was launched by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in October 2023.

“The competition will enhance our progress towards realizing the Vision 2030 objectives of diversifying the economy, growing the tourism sector, creating new jobs in various industries, and providing world-class entertainment for citizens, residents, and visitors alike,” MBS was quoted as saying at the time.

EWC aims to increase the gaming sector’s contribution to Saudi Arabia’s GDP by more than $ 13.3 billion (SAR50 billion) and create 39,000 new jobs by 2030.

The competition is being held during peak summer months in an effort to boost tourism during hot months.

Saudi Arabia, which is rapidly opening up to tourism, experiences an average 16 percent drop in hotel occupancy rates, an 18 percent decrease in tourism spending and a 13 percent decline in restaurant and cafe spending, according to an estimate reported earlier by the Saudi Press Agency.

Some of the games that will be a part of the event are Apex Legends, Call of Duty, Counter Strike II, FC24, PUBG Battlegrounds, Rocket League, Starcraft II, Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6, Rainbow Six Siege, and more.

Visitors can engage with gaming activations, community tournaments, pop culture celebrations, and other international experiences, the organizers said.

KitKat, Adidas, and Sony are some of the partners of the EWC.

Saudi Arabia is greatly investing in sports as a way to wean its economy off oil-dependency. It hopes to host the 2034 FIFA football World Cup and the Olympic Games.

It is set to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games, has invested in an international golfing tournament, and is rapidly building a vibrant football community including acquiring global players like Christiano Ronaldo for its national clubs.

National investment vehicles are also heavily investing in online gaming as the global esports market breaks records year after year.

The latest reforms fall under the country’s Vision 2030 goals. Saudi Arabia’s eSports federation was created in 2017, and the number of eSports teams in the Kingdom has since grown from two to more than 100.

Survey findings from 2022 indicate that at least 21 million people -– nearly two-thirds the national population –- consider themselves gamers.

In recent years, Saudi Arabia also hosted another esports festival called Gamers8, with games similar to the EWC, and a prize pool of $45 million.

Esports World Cup boss defends holding event in Saudi Arabia

The boss of the esports World Cup has defended the decision to hold the event in Saudi Arabia.

Hundreds of competitors have gathered in Riyadh to compete in the eight-week tournament for a share of a $60m (£47.1m)-prize pot funded by the Arab country.

But the massive contest has divided players, streamers and fans due to it being held in Saudi Arabia, particularly over its stance on LGBT rights.

Critics say the World Cup is an example of "sportswashing", and the wealthy country is investing heavily in big events to distract from its human rights record.

Esports World Cup founder Ralf Reichert spoke to BBC Newsbeat, saying he wants to reassure LGBT fans and players travelling to the event over concerns about their safety in Saudia Arabia.

"Everyone is welcome," he said, echoing previous statements by the country's sports minister.

"Everyone can participate in the competition and no-one will be discriminated against. That's a promise we can give."

But he added: "In every country in the world, there are different local habits and cultural norms, which you need to adhere to.

"So what we're telling everyone is, don't be explicit.

"Act locally to respect the local culture. And I think that's fair. It's something that happens all over the world."

Some players have refused to take part in the World Cup and other big names in the esports community have opposed the event.

But thousands of fans are still expected to attend in person and many more are due to watch the contests streamed live on YouTube and Twitch.

Ralf, who has 27 years of experience in competitive gaming, says he believes the event will be good for esports.

There's been a downturn in the industry since a boom during the pandemic, with teams and tournaments shutting down due to a lack of funds.

He told Newsbeat he hopes having so many games in one place will bring more fans together.

"We can bring fans from all over the world to unite on one thing and cross-pollinate across all these games", he said.

"Bringing it mainstream, global recognition is probably the unique opportunity we have."

Team Liquid, one of the world's biggest esports teams, is participating in the competition.

On the first day of the tournament players from the team competed in their official rainbow Pride kit to show support for the LGBT community.

Team Liquid CEO Steve Arhancet told BBC Newsbeat that weighing up whether to take part had been "quite the quandary and challenge for us".

"Team Liquid is rooted in values of inclusivity," he said.

"So how do we continue operating with our values in a region of the world that conflicts so strongly, and with pretty egregious human rights violations?"

Steve said the team eventually decided it was important to turn up and use the contest as a platform to show their support for LGBT people.

As a gay man himself, Steve said it's personally important to him and plenty of other gamers.

One in five gamers identifies as LGBT, according to a recent survey produced by LGBT advocacy group GLAAD and polling company Nielsen.

"Maybe there's some gay or queer gamers that are going to be watching that will see Team Liquid wearing the Pride colours where that representation has never been seen before," Steve said.

It's a view shared by one of the UK's top esports players, Emma, also known as Emzi online.

She won gold for Northern Ireland in eFootball at the Commonwealth esports Championships in 2022.

In her view, it's a shame so many players have chosen to boycott the competition.

"I feel like those are the voices we need there," Emzi said.

"The esports World Cup is going to go ahead whether we like it or not."

As a trans woman, Emma says she thinks it's particularly important for players like her to attend and be seen, even if she's just spectating this time.

"I am the loudest person who shouts about trans rights and LGBT rights" she says.

Emma says the location shouldn't get in the way of the opportunities she thinks will come from the massive new event.

4 Pakistani players have qualified for the Tekken World Tour Finals 2024. The event will be happening from Dec. 5 to Dec. 8 in Tokyo, Japan. The prize pool of this event is $300,000. The four players who'll be representing Pakistan in this tournament are Arslan Ash, Atif, The Jon, and Farzeen.

The 30th Anniversary PS5 range is stunning and a great nod to the OG PS1, I managed to get into the que a while back but didn’t pull the trigger; should have going by what they’re going for now, some huge dollar has been made. The controller is still worth it imo!

That’s the only way to play Tekken, basically an arcade in your lounge!

Indeed but man does it improve your game!

Playing on the stick is like playing the piano! It takes a while getting used to. Plus it can be used on other games, mainly arcade, like Burnout Paradise!

I used to be an Xbox gamer. Used to borrow my brother's Xbox One.

I later on purchased my own PS5 (my brother switched to PS5 too). I think PS is way better than Xbox.

Legendary Ash wins it again. This guy has been so under-acknowledged in Pakistan. People need to show some respect for this guy.

I’ve always a PS guy but had to get the Xbox for Forza & the Fight Night games just seemed to play way better on it as well.

We finally got a new Boxing game though for this gen of consoles, and conveniently EA are finally planning a sequel to FN Round 4

I see.

Never tried the newest Xbox console. I stopped using Xbox after Xbox One.

I only got the limited edition 360, ancient beast but I’ve kept it in such good condition. The boxing games on it still held up for so long without any major releases in the last 10-15 years and games like Arkham which have been remastered, play much better imo in their original form. I did get the steam deck more recently to play Forza 4 which is set in the UK when I was about to pull the trigger on the latest Xbox also because I read you could play some of the classic titles on it. But now my next buy will be the PS5 around the time GTA cones out, I feel this is when the current gen consoles truly come alive.
