Sarfraz had to dive pretty much full length Lot more than dhoni had to he

Dhoni's one was better. I don't want to say anything bad about Sarfraz after his commendable captaincy and wicket-keeping yesterday, but there's no way he would have been able to reach that far to his right because he simply isn't as athletic as the Indian wicket-keeper.

Sarfraz's was better. Left arm bowler angle edged. Keeper is in blind spot almost as to where the ball pitches.

dhoni was moving left before diving to the right so that would make his catch slightly harder.

Dhoni's.

He had to move in the opposite direction since the ball was cutting in. That's a harder catch.

Can someone please take a screenshot of the start of the clip and show it to this guy?

Sarfraz is standing well on the left side of the screen when shahin is about to deliver the ball. So he is not in the blind-spot.

That according to this genius was him being in blind-spot.

Naw see where the ball is it was a blindspot fr sarfaraz , thats why imho as well Sfs ws better

Dhoni makes wicketkeeping look easy. He is one of the best wicketkeepers ever. No flash, just monstrously good craft.

He made his catch look easier than Sarfaraz, who himself is a good keeper.

If a WK is in a blindspot and doesn;t know where the ball pitched, it is poor keeping. Sarfraz was not in a blind spot. he was at an angle watching the ball and figured where it was going after the nick.

This is a tough one it looked like dhoni didn’t really had to dive he was in two he could have easily stood and caught it with both hands but sarafraz catch was going away from his body so he needed to do a full stretch I would say safaraz by a little bit but both are equally good

Dhoni could see where the ball was pitched and he can anticipate in his mind better than Sarfaraz. It was a difficult angle for Sarfraz comparatively to Dhoni.

MSD - that ball was an in coming one that took outside edge on a shot on back foot and batsman covering the line. On WKeeper’s instinct MS moved to his left then last moment had to dive against body movement. Sarfraz is slow in reflex, bottom heavy and flat foot, hence he had to dive to gather it. Otherwise for standard WK, left arm over the wicket ball on its natural course reaches close to 1st slip and WK gathers it by both gloves. In terms of deviation, MS’s ball moved lot more angles than Sarfraz’s one and it actually changed its normal course after edge; Sarfraz’s one just deflected a little more on the same path.

This ^ 💯

Sarfraz
The pressure of catching that after all the veil abusing by some fans.

It’s a iconic and memorable catch, he finally stood up as a captain and delivered. This catch might inspire the whole team.

Sarfraz had just risen from the squat position and then dove to his right. Dhoni had actually shuffled towards leg, before changing directions and diving to his right or the off. This makes Dhoni's catch a response to the delivery, Sarfraz's felt more like a natural movement. Thus, Dhoni's takes the cake.

Honestly both are regulation catches. Any decent wk is expected to catch that.

Anyway dhoni's catch looked better.

I just find it amazing how similar both the catches are! Kudos to both the keepers. Regardless of which of the two was harder to catch and which one took more effort, what we cannot deny is that, given the match situation and the value of the batsman dismissed, Sarfaraz´s catch proved to be the one which mattered more in the end. Either way, well done MS on such a stretch! Keep them coming, sir!

Did Moin Khan take anything similar in World Cup 1992? Because that´s all what matters here. :yk

Sarfaraz continuing to work on his catching....

Sarfaraz or Dhoni ? Whose better ?

Just for gags , since 2 off days without cricket now !!

Whose better overall as a wicketkeeper - batsman - captain - leader - smarter !!!

Dhoni brings yawns. Sarfraz doesn't leave such risks. He does that also himself.

Let’s change the game.

Who will get a better farewell once he retires?

Who will have his team members and most of countrymen literally crying on retirement?

Who will have a top national award for asking as soon as he retires?

Who will make 100x more money than others on retirement?

Who will rarely badmouth his successors on retirement?

Who will create an army of good budding captains and wicketkeepers on retirement.

Who will never have to beg his board for a job, rather board will chase him to do a favour (for a hefty price of course)

And who will get a super hit movie made on him. Sorry the last one is already decided. LOL

Dhoni is a cheetah while running between the wickets. Sarfaraz thinks he is a cheetah.

And who has a potential chance to become country’s PM? This may have a different answer and worth more than everything else.
