Fawad’s thigh pad could be used for presidential bullet proof security

I think he has the perfect skillset for that enforcer’s role like Archer or Wagner. Why doesn’t he?
We need to find a #3 man.
I guess Azhar can be used for another year or so until Haider Ali or Zeeshan Malik are ready. Or try Usman who just made a double ton at #3.
For the next series, Pak can play: Imam, Butt, Azhar, Babar, Fawad, Rizwan as the top 6.
And if Fawad fails then Saud can come in.
In that case I would play Usman Salahuddin at #3Thing is if Azhar does not go after this series, he's not going until the end of 2022.
SAF at home means he is likely to score. Feel like it may be easier to hand a debut to someone in familiar conditions and see how that pans out.
Last thing I would want is Asad Shafiq's return. Don't think he can come in for Fawad as things stand. Unless Haris streaks his way to a fifty or a hundred in the next game, his slot is most likely to be filled if PAK think about a 6-4 combination vs SAF.
He doesn’t have their height and thus the bounce. You need that for such a role.
He doesn’t have Jofra’s pace over course of series. Even in England series he outpaced Jofra initially but then wilted away. May be to do with age. I think there’s a stamina issue
Doesn’t hit the seam regularly enough.
Is not disciplined. Fails to maintain a good line. Strays too often and hence is carted around.
All these aren’t big problem and May be can improved. But together they are huge problems and why his numbers are the way they are. But most importantly, international cricket ISN’T the place to fix these issues.

Disgusting bowling frm the kiwis. Once they seen Pak batsmen are playing positive and going for it. They have resorted to short pitched bowling. Bouncer after bouncer. Loser mentality
He outpaced Jofra consistently no?
Also, his action provides him more bounce than most bowlers - just watch his bowling in Australia to Warner, but also his bowling against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Hitting the seam regularly - experience issue, but something he can quickly learn, surely? He also has pace to back it up. Obviously if he keeps bowling 135kph like he is right now then there’s no point, I would just go with Hassan Ali. Which I have suggested for the SA series. But once he’s back up on pace, he’s a very good addition to the attack I feel, adds variety and exploits cracks in the pitch well in the second innings especially to nip the ball around.
Agreed, absolutely shameful. If this was Pakistan, we’d be blasting our “defensive captaincy” about this.
He needs experience at domestic level to learn all that and experiment what works for him. International cricket isn’t the place for that. You don’t draft a youngster into the Test team after him playing half a season of FC cricket.
Very baised commentary...
Watched all 14 Pakistan wickets in this match so far.
I would say at least 9 or 10 could have been avoided.

This is not defensive, per say. NZD have shown 100% conviction in each tactic they have orchestrated. If Wagner is to bowl short, around the wicket et cetera, they will not half-*** the job with just one or two fielders on the leg side. They will pack that field and put their better fielders there.
Let's look at a few examples:
When Ashwin is bowling at Smith's legs, being an off-spinner, there is a limited number of places/shots Smith can play the ball to, if he plays orthodox cricket shots, right? No difference to any other orthodox batsman who will (naturally) glance the ball off their pads with it turn into them from that length and line. However, the conviction in the plan comes into the picture when you also position a square leg, a fine leg inside the circle, a midwicket etc. to ensure that not only does the person remain susceptible to the glance, but can also not nudge the ball for a single. Or if the batsman tries to go for a brazen pull, there is doubt in their mind about getting caught out etc.
Not like Rahat Ali standing at deep fine leg when the plan was so obviously to bounce out Watson (despite the fluke catch Rahat had taken earlier). Sorry - still have not gotten over this.

Cmon Fadi get a 100
You’re right, but notice how they didn’t even bring the spinner on until just now. Commentators were talking about this too - you want them to get into rhythm. Now there’s not much time left until the second new ball. So what are they trying to do?

Completely agree. Bowling plans need to be precise and well orchestrated. This level of planning is missing in our management. You must have at least 2-3 plans for each batsman.
Surprisingly Fawad not sweeping the spinner. Usually batsmen from KHI play the sweep shot well.
My word
We took this game into day 5 lunch
We are going to win the next World Test Championship!!!
For the first time in a long while, all of India are praying for Pakistan
Poppy.
Faadi is on 47*
You know I’ve waited 11 years for this day... nerves so high!
What is the equation for test championship?
What is the equation for test championship?
No?mate u were against him
I can see Pakistan press on their self-destruction button in the second session.
It’s happened way too many times![]()
