Pakistan cricket Team players were seen at a meet-and-greet dinner held in Dallas.

My question is whether the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sanctioned it.

Shouldn't they be focusing on the game itself because they have to meet the USA tomorrow on June 6?

Why would you arrange such events? you are on a national duty, not on some picnic.

Sad to see "champion" players with "elite" mindset partaking in this event.

Last time when Amir was cutting a cake and became part of the cake crew his fans said he cut it sarcastically ( yes that's what they said).

I wonder how they will rationalise it now that he is a leading member of the social media and roti club.

I repeat:

Theyv zero interest in cricket & this World Cup they just want to go from house to house eat & eat. They earn at least $15000 per month but still hungry for free food from restaurants. They have zero fitness a rhino for a keeper all nepotism.as a nation run by crooks everyone’s after food khai jao

Feel sorry for the fans that go & watch this sham of a team.

What is this with Pakistani team ? Should have sole focus only on WC and winning it rather than these business and restaurant meets, for just 25$.

I think in Sydney too few players along with wasim, shahid afridi have done it. But it's atleast 35 usd 🤣

Don’t understand the criticism.

Just because you have a match it doesn’t mean you have to think about it 24/7.

Some people have no idea how things work and just want to moan. These media duties and other events are part and parcel of sporting tournaments.

Well said.
this is really pathetic stuff.

No hope for this sorry bunch.

$25 per attendee. If each player met with a fan and gave autograph within a minute.

Considering the event was for 2 overs. 120 Minutes x $25 = $3,000.

$3,000 for 2 hours split lets say equally between Shadab, Haris, Amir, Imad, Usman and Organizers. Then that's $500 per player for a 2 hours shift.

$250 per hour. Not bad.

Nice Calculations but the reality is, they should focus on games and should be winning otherwise people are gonna bring this thing up that they were busy earning easy money etc etc,

That's the thing. They can do whatever the want off the pitch. Frankly I don't care too much. But it's when they don't perform on the pitch is when people start to question and bash their off field antics as well.

These are media duties, plus this a better way of doing a meet and greet instead of walking in a public where everyone tries to jump on you.

Remember, there is a huge dispora of pakistani fans in North America, and this a once in a life time oppurtunity to meet these guys for them.

Good stuff from pcb

It should be better organised. Looks quite cheap and tacky.

For example they can invite fans to view a training sessions and have qna afterwards.

Time for pleasantries over now. They must deliver now or suffer the consequences

Lol

As per a report saying, Pakistan team was missing good quality doodh pattern chai which they couldn't find, so some Pakistan locals got together and fulfilled their wish

Only $25? I would have visited to meet these Pak players if they were close to where I live.

Heck, I would have paid $100 to meet some international cricketers and take a picture with them.

People don’t realise how cheap 25$ is , that’s less than the parking one pays for Diljit’s concern that happened a week ago lol.

Naw it’s overrated, I live in the area.
LA and Jersey have way better Indian food.
South Indian food in Dallas is great though.
I visited Dallas Last year September. A lot of restaurants there and food is much better than the ones I ate in other cities in US. A lot of options and variety.

You are just spoilt brat that does not appreciate what you have :ashwin

Maybe South Indian, we get cheap damn morning buffet. But all other Indian cuisines leave so much to be desired.

Pakistanis Cricketers behave less like Cricketers and more like International Food Bloggers when they go to play in an ICC tournament.
They also love going to every Hookah place, this is also one.

Dallas has some of the best sport hosting places even cricket net games and these guys chose a hookah place (decent food)for 25$

Unprofessional

Their sole job is being a cricketer that means they have no excuse not to be in shape or be in the gym or nets

They don't have a nine to 5 job or juggling huge responsibilities

No excuse to be so fat and unfit

They get a decent salary to eat natural foods

But still eating shadi type meals and junk.

if you play for any club in India you can visit the stadium previous day if the match when the players are practicing. Most Indian players are happy to sign few autographs and take photos.

lol i have lived in all three cities for considerable time and Dallas Desi food is way way better. More options, better quality and much better taste and closer to home. These days with cloud kitchen there are way too many options. Just in my local neighborhood WhatsApp group there are two excellent restaurant owners and six cloud kitchen owners providing very good food.

Maybe I’m spoilt lol

I don't care if it's for media duties; they should be glued to the India vs. Ireland game, observing how the pitch is playing, and analyzing how the Indian bowlers and batters are performing. They should look for weaknesses to exploit on Sunday, listen to the commentary, and take notes, because they'll be playing on the same pitch and against same players sunday

This Meet and Greet is going to bite them bad if India bosses them on June 9

Fury was in a similar jovial mood before the Ngannu fight, did a lot of meet and greets in Saudi just a day before the match and did an unusual amount of press for them. There are small margins for error in Boxing, and while Cricket is a different sport, the same point applies in that you ought to take any competition seriously. This is a World Event though and it’s a shame Pakistan are in such a relaxed mood, it’s what I’d want if I was facing them as a low ranked team

This is all well and good but it interferers with the short period they have to go sight seeing between games and enjoying the American food, they wont ever get the chance to visit the US again so need to make the most of taking selfies in front of the statue of liberty among other landmarks the few chances they get

To be honest, the Pakistani team has been on a demoralizing losing streak since the 2023 Asia Cup, our bowling attack has not clicked at all and when you consistently keep losing, eventually the team moral and belief no longer exists. Maybe they are indulging in all this to de-stress and make a bigger problem look small.

Naw bro its not American food, it’s mediterranean-Turkish food atleast this place.

Which other teams have done something like this in this tournament so far ?

Seriously man? How shameless and hungry are these guys. They have an unquenchable thirst for food and free food tbh. They have embarrassed us everywhere, in India they were munching on biryani like they have never seen it before and in my own experience Pakistani biryani is actually better than Indian. These players are weird. Bhookay. You can easily go to a Tim Hortons and get a steeped tea, 2 cream, 2 sugar. You have your doodh patti.

25$ is less than the entry ticket to a club in toronto..

You ask most people about the Pakistani players after experiencing them and they will all unanimously agree that their biggest weakness is food. Heck, Bookies in various interviews said more than money, it was easy to win over Pakistani players and get close to them by offering to continuously pay for their lunches, dinners.

You just have to look at the pot bellies of the players to see the disasterous consequences when the PCB, Team Management ends mandatory fitness tests and trusts the players to their own devices. A classic recipe for disaster. The only system which works for the Pakistani players is the head master approach which Mickey Arthur implemented early on in his tenure from 2017 and everyone was told, these are the bare minimum basic fitness and fat levels, if you can't meet it then you will have no place in the side and he implemented this by sending Umar Akmal home from the 2017 CT squad regardless of his talent and big name at the time.

This team is like on another paid vacation. Seems like PCB has allowed them to do all this outing and meet and greet stuff.

Now they’re at Yasir Hameed’s house for dinner. It’s like Eid where they’re going from place to place for dawats and shugal.View attachment 144258
Lol now they can't even eat dinner? Why do Pakistani fans think that just because they are cricketers they are supposed to be training 24/7 or be locked in their rooms, completely cut off from the outside world.

I don't have a problem with them doing media appearances/meet and greets, but this one in particular looks kinda low-rent. It's not just about making money, its about getting some exposure too. And any kind of media attention on the local news or a PR event would have been great.

South Africa are doing promotional stuff with the NY Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Our players are doing a doing a low-rent meet and greet organized by Pakistani diasporas.

Its wrong on so many levels. When you lose games 24/7 it does not seem right to be posting such stuff. Also it seems like its a daily routine. They arw there for the WC not for meet and greets.

The team has a pathetic mindset and it shows in the results.

Doesn't seem too bad visiting a friend for dinner.

But it's unlikely that they have any control over what is being served and what they are eating.

Seems odd going into a big tournament

Lose 24/7? You may care about bilateral T20 series but I assure you, no one else does.

I think its another case of Pakistani fans overblowing yet another minor thing out of proportion. Who cares if they are going out to eat? This is not a high school exam lol. I'm more concerned with how they do on the pitch.

Also, you train for a specified period on specified days that are assigned to you by the tournament organizers. The rest of the time is yours. This is true for practically every team.

Pakistani fans are way too concerned about optics and what kind of message is being sent. To whom exactly? The same fans making these comments? Its always the meaningless, unimportant minor stuff that somehow offends y'all the most.

Who exactly is so fat and unfit in this team? Besides Azam Khan and Imad Wasim?

Who on earth holds a Meet & Greet at 11:30 PM to 01:00 AM ?

I think the Meet & Greet is part of the "promoting Cricket in Amreeka" agenda.

Still I would expect the Pakistan team to be in their official kit/uniforms.

That's not the point, look at how Australia is preparing, and how our players are preparing.

Their not on vacation, their job aka what their getting paid for is to prepare and play a tournament. No one is stopping them from visiting and meeting and having fun once the tournament is over.

Indian players have fun and sponsor all the time, so does every team, but not during a tournament. You'll never see kohli just go to some old boy's House for a meet and greet and food a day or 2 days before he's scheduled for a match. He'll be in training consistently and doing his usual routine.

I wouldn't normally care. I only care because the Pakistan team and think tank takes it seriously. They refuse to experiment or rotate instead try the same players no matter the opposition. Yet we still lose to Kiwi C or Ireland.

If they treated T20 cricket like England do then it wouldn't matter.

You answered your own question. We're fully aware of their performance on the pitch, which is why it's an issue.

Has it ever bitten them?

Naw bro its not American food, it’s mediterranean-Turkish food atleast this place.

Turkish food in New York? there are not as many halal places for the proper American food though are they, will take the boys more time to find

Precisely. This sums up the importance of education but sadly all these players come from uneducated backgrounds so they don't understand the importance of work ethic and analysis.

It is more of a job of the analyst to do but yeah, they should have been watching their arch-rivals instead of drinking tea outside.

Big US cities has more Halal food than the UK. Apart from maybe London.
They are gonna be chilling.

All the boys said they loved the Hyderabadi biryani when they were here. They say travel broadens a person's perspective. Good to see them enjoying their food in Dallas. Hope Pakistani/Desi Muslims in New York follow up from Dallas and host them and ply them with food and sheesha as well.

They train for like 2 hours a day, tops. You want them to be locked away in their hotel room for the remaining 22 of the day?

The issue is that PCT is more interested in vacationing and hob knobbing than performance on the cricket pitch.

This is Dallas..It’s halal bro, there are lot of Halal places in US..many Arabs here as well.

American food which is Halal is probably less..

While no one is saying our players shouldn't eat dinner, it's crucial to understand the importance of focus during a major tournament like the World Cup. Our cricketers, like anyone else, need sustenance to survive and perform. However, constantly posting pictures of themselves dining out sends the wrong message.

During such a high-stakes competition, the best teams and athletes are known for their laser focus. They meticulously optimize their sleep patterns and carefully monitor their nutrition to ensure peak performance on the field. This singular focus is what often separates champions from the rest.

The time for relaxation and enjoyment should come after securing victory, not before. While it's natural to want to explore and enjoy new places, it's essential to prioritize the tournament. The PCT has shown a tendency to prioritize maximizing their off-field experiences over their on-field performance, and this has been observed on multiple occasions. The results are for everyone to see.

We need our players to be fully committed to their training, strategies, and recovery processes. Every decision they make off the field can impact their performance on it. The PCT, clearly, have not struck the right balance and only talk about their primary focus being winning the prize, their actions don’t show it. When it comes to the best of the best in any sport, the celebrations and enjoyment follows victory, truly savouring the success those teams worked so hard to achieve.

You deserve this lot and all the defeats. No one says you cant have fun or go out, but these guys have no balance.

All they do is act like clowns on a free holiday.

Getting invited to Yasir Hameed house is fine but charging 25dollors for meet and great is cheap and not a good idea

Dont understand the criticism.

We dont want them to be religious and we dont want them to live like a normal person either.

They are in USA, not Rawalpindi.

Obviously they will tour and do some sightseeing too.

As long as it doesnt interfere with their duties, it shouldnt be a problem.

There are so many Halal Turkish restaurants in New York. And there are many Halal American food places as well.

Just got trashed by Eng and lost a game vs Ireland, prior to that a draw at home vs kiwi kids. First win a few games.

They would be international food bloggers if they actually sampled various cuisines from wherever they went.

But it looks like they're only into desi khaana.

I actually remember hearing Travis Head say something around the lines of: "my preparation is pretty relaxed", the other day."

I think Pakistanis cannot mind their own business. They are too concerned with the lives of others. Like bro, who cares if they posted something on social media? It is such a meaningless and pointless thing. It has nothing to do with cricket.

I'm sure cricketers from other countries post similar things to social media. But their fans aren't obsessed with them and don't spend every waking second of their lives on social media.

Well Australia isn't fudging up against minnows like Pakistan atm. So yes fans will correlate an association between the social media and lack of preparation when this USA game is the result of it.

hope they liked the chicken burgers

Azam must have put a few in his pockets, he didn't want to hang around the batting crease too long, couldn't wait to get back to the dressing room to scoff a few more.
