Not sure if there was need for this - very basic stuff from Stoinis.

==

As Yashasvi Jaiswal’s walked back past Stoinis to the non-striker’s end after getting Ruturaj Gaikwad run out, Stoinis moved to stand directly in Jaiswal’s path, despite the opener having his head turned away from Stoinis towards the unfolding run out. As he turned back around, Stonis laughed loudly in his face, making sure Jaiswal knew exactly who was to blame for the wicket.

That was unnecessary from Stoinis.

Jaiswal is a gentleman. No need to sledge him.

Bang average cricket like stonis is laughing at others first of all go and check your performance

Please forgive, Stoinis was controlling his laughter since Sunday finally got a moment to release it

Some would say we need a bit of 'argy-bargy' on the field...

Let's see if the Indians can cancel Stoinis IPL contract to teach him a lesson.
People overread Indian players power into IPL team pickings. A very average player like Naveen can have a tiff with the biggest Indian star Kohli and be in the IPL for full season. Franchise are business, they don't give a damn.

I dont see any issue here. Stonis wasnt in his face, he happened to be nearby and found it funny, like most of us watching would have.

Using abusive langue, gestures and pointing is far worse.

This is what happens when you are ‘that guy’. The opposition have a natural dislike towards you knowing how dangerous you are

Not hugging and kissing you, or appreciating your lovely shots.

Jaiswal is THAT GUY.

Absolute gun batter!

I think it’s alright as long as he didn’t mouth a personal curse. We need a little edge in a competitive game.

'argy-bargy' - thats what it is . Jeez if players nowadays are so sensitive - they should have played the 96-03 Aus teams.. They would file a court case for mental turmoil.. Cmon guys toughen up - its an international game.. Game needs more sledging aggression verbal banter - this goody goody stuff is cringey

Nothing to see there. Cricket needs a bit of masala to make it more interesting. Players are not robots.

Stonis was not laughing at the overrated batsman, but the fact the Wicketkeeper fumbled the ball, dropped the ball, and STILL had time to run out the batsman.

This is indeed hillarious!

Simon Doul during the WC was very critical of Stoinos i.e. the guy was not even averaging 20 with the bat for Australia in his last 15-20 games and it was suprising that Australia were still persisting with him.

It was brilliant tactics from stones to get under the skin of Jaiswal. Any mental midget will crumble under that insult.

No kid needs to grow his cojones. Nothing wrong with this. Need more aggression again In cricket.

Jaiswal is extremely talented and honestly should have played for India in 2023 world cuo. Being a leftie and can bowl spin. No brainer. India are a bit silly with selections.

Correct otherwise we will stuck with goody two shoes everywhere.

Like imagine seeing nice guy babar and pujara everywhere.

He has to replace Rohit only.Dravid only plays safe.if not for Rohit place,Jaiswal must have been there.

Man the bromance between the pak and ind players is so cringey 🙂 lol ! If I was a pak player - I would be like I am not playing ipl anyway, so no point in being nice to the ind players and be on their good side! On the other hand more than any other team- performing against ind gives you the most views and recognition. So go ahead be aggressive , sledge the ind players and shake things up with the argy bargy stuff!

I read that in one of the First Class matches, he was absuing the opponent batsman so much that his captain Ajinkya Rahane had to send him out of ground. So that may not be true.

On the topic, I think Stoinis was a bit angry that he was hit for 4 and 6. So he was letting it out when his side got a wicket.

I think Stoinis was more so laughing at the fact that Wade fumbled and still ran out the batsman by a mile.

Ipl teams give zero importance to sledging by foreigners or aggressive behaviour against their precious Indians. Infact it's the opposite. Luke you said, performsnc egainst india gets big contracts. Simple logic. There is a reason why many Aussie get huge ipl contracts.

No problem with him laughing or sledging but dude has a habit of getting unnecessarily physical with opponents. Sure, he's built like a gorrilla but probably has less batting skill and intelligence than the primate - something he seems to forget all too often

What I meant was pak players could be more aggressive and dont need to be friendly. Dont see the reason to be overly friendly like say rizwan Shadab are.. maybe that puts ind players out of their comfort zone who knows..verbal banter , some needle in the contest..less goody goody stuff and more argy bargy stuff I guess!

Yea miss the golden times of shoaib, Waqar etc sledging the Indians and giving them a hard time. In tests it was close post 90s and India had the edge in 2000 era.

In odi we dominated Indians in 80s and 90s. We dont need to be nice whatsoever but we lack that aggressive mentality these days. None barring rizwan has a tinge of gritty, dirty and aggressive attitude. Too many nice guys coming through. Naseem is another one that attempts to snarl and sledge at times but he too is on the quieter side in general.

I think attitude comes with talent , confidence and skill.you can take Aus 2001 vs Aus 2023 team as an example.Ambrose never abused but intimidated everyone. Pak should try atleast that.Pak can't have Harris rauf type of sledger's where they go missing against big boys.

He didn't laugh at Jaiswal's face. He was laughing and it jaiswal just happened to come across.

I see nothing wrong with it. Cricket has become so professional that these kind of run outs have become "novice" error.

People have become too soft now a days.

I can't stand shadab laughing on the field all the time. We are too soft.

That is typical Stoinis behaviour. Still remember when he was mocking Hasnain with a bent elbow / throwing action, a kid who doesn't know english, has no idea that his action is off by a few degrees on some deliveries was being openly mocked during the game in a pre planned maneuver.
