Pk716 Where did I say Manish Pandey is better than Shreyas Iyer?![]()

I obviously couldn't find as I am not expert in digging old posts. Atleast the troll part is right. What do you say about it.

From sheep to real talent. It didn't take much time![]()

Lol what? I clearly wrote there 'last time' Shreyas Iyer played for India he did look like a sheep and couldn't even catch properly. I am not making that up like you are doing with that Manish Pandey thing.
I never claimed that Iyer will remain like that? In Pant's case I am clearly asking you guys to bookmark my post that he will end his career as a below 30 averaging batsman in tests. That's a prediction. You can take a screenshot of this post.![]()
That is the reason I added 'If I remember correctly' why would I make it up by tagging you. Regarding that pant's 30 avg claim he will atleast play for 10yrs do you want us to save it and show you after 10yrs? Make a reasonable claim.

How are you so sure that he will play for 10 years? Aren't you making your own little prediction there now? Or do you have no confidence in Indian cricket system that we can't unearth another wicket keeper batsman who can average more than Pant?
People were saying the same thing about Saha few years ago that he will play for 6-7 years. Now look at him he is not even in the picture. Same can happen with Pant once another guy starts knocking on the door.
We don't have to play a tullaybaaz at an important position of number 4.![]()
I predicted the same way you said he will avg less than 30. Why no. 4 is brought up here when I am talking about tests where he bats at no. 7?

Why did you guys bring tests into discussion when we were discussing his current LOI performances in West Indies where he is batting at number 4?![]()
Lol what a despo. Now you have once again brought tests into LOI discussions. Pant will be found out in tests as well. His average will come down to below 30.![]()

He is a hack.Should be restricted to tests only.
ODIs and T20s aren't made for him.

I am curious to know why do you think so?![]()
So, you failed to understand a simple sarcasm here.
I am saying here that as per some people logic, he is a hack and should play tests only and not T20s/ODIs.
Oh man, u couldn't even understand this. Really!

Yeah now its sarcasm lol? Try again. I am sure you will come up with a better excuse next time.![]()
I am curious to know why do you think so?![]()

Iyer should bat at 4. Pant should bat at 5 or 6. He needs to give himself a chance rather than look to swing from ball 1. Maybe Shastri and Kohli have given him that licence to go from ball 1.
And this is based on what? His first series in SA? Even Kohli failed in his first series in England. No Iyer is a terrible batsmen, put him in a pitch where the ball bounces above knee level and he is a shooting duck... Keep this guy far far away from the team..

Saha has set some high standards for batting on Windies pitches. Batting avgs of some of the wicket keepers that represented India :
Saha - 51
N Mongia - 28
Ratra - 26
Dhoni - 22
It will be a shame if Pant ends up averaging less than the likes of Mongia and Ratra![]()

Sharam karo yaar, Dhoni has won
India three ICC throphies.
ICC T20 WC
ICC ODI WC
ICC CT 2013
Let that sink in.
Yes he is old now and he can’t produce those match winning innings nowadays, but still you have to respect him for what he has done.
I admit he needs to hang his boots up and call it a day.
However Dhoni is a legend and LO ATG and to replace him would be a huge task for Risabh Pant.

We should just rename this thread to MS Dhoni vs Rishabh Pant![]()

One great thing about Pant is he never plays for himself. Yesterday even when pitch is becoming hard to hit sixes he still tried for it for the team not caring about his avg. He may not be a Dhoni but if he works hard he can be a better version of raina, who selflessly plays for the team.

Sorry but thats a silly excuse for a player who gifts his wicket away. We can say the same about Umar Akmal or even Afridi as well. They were also not selfish cricketers but still cost Pakistan many matches due to their brainless batting.![]()

India was in total control when he did that. Rahane, Vihari, Pant all gifted their wickets. Atleast watch the match before commenting.

You should look at the thread title first before posting. Why will I talk about Vihari and Rahane in a thread that is dedicated to the next big thing in Indian cricket?![]()
Rahane who was averaging 50 now averaging 40 lol was also hyped to be next best thing.

Did I hype him? I am not into this game of overhyping a player, jumping on the bandwagon and then abusing the same player after sometime. I saw the exact same thing happening to poor KL Rahul too. He was hyped to be better than Kohli and some fans even went to an extent of saying Kohli is jealous of KL Rahul lol.![]()
In his very first season in Tests became the ICC XI keeper. Broke keeping record. Scored the highest runs in Australia in his very first tour for a keeper. Averaging 53 in first classwith good strike rate. Pretty much all commies are as excited as fans to see him play. He is just 21. Just like you advise others not to hype him up you have to advise yourself not to run him down. This thread title ends with a Question mark just in case you didn't notice. He didn't conclusively say he is the next best thing. So far he is going in the right direction. At the start of your career you are bound to have up and down. Just to remind you Kohli was dropped after his first stint in Tests. He had to go through the same criticism.

Keep this hypocritic wisdom to yourself. You guys use these lines for your favorite players only but forget this when a player like Vijay Shankar or Pandey comes to play for India. You will want them out because in your opinion they are not that special. You won't even give them same number of chances as your favorite player is getting.
Some people even wanted Ambati Rayudu out when he was averaging 50. I wonder why? That's why its tough to take fans like you seriously. You guys change your colors too often.![]()
Shankar at the age of 28 should have been a far better batsman than he is. Not even the best for his own state. Only reason he was even in the reckoning because he could be used as a bowler. Once you decide not to use him as a bowler he has no place in the side. I would back guys like Iyer, Subhman Gill over them. These are pedigree batsmen. Not utility all rounders. Pandey didn't do anything to be recalled back. His IPL failure sealed his fate. Fact that you rate Rayudu as a batsman is laughable lol. Did you watch how much clueless against pace bowler. He was so bad that they had to pick Shankar in place of Rayudu. India has far better potentials than these dead woods. DK another mental midget should have never been the back up keeper. Pant should have been the back up keeper. They realized the mistake only later. Once Dhoni leaves it will be Pant. You have to analyze the game much much deeper than you do. I am not really a fan of pant as you keep suggesting. I back any player who is likely to do well. I look forward to giving chances to youngsters even if Pant fails. You sound like kohli. Bringing the deadwoods back into the side. Raina, Yuvraj singh, pandey, Rayudu.

Pant has 'a lot to learn', Saha deserves to play second Test: Syed Kirmani
One of India‘s greatest wicketkeeper, Syed Kirmani, feels that Bengal veteran Wriddhiman Saha deserves to play the second Test against the West Indies instead of Rishabh Pant, who still has a “lot to learn”.
Pant’s short career has been inconsistent at best especially his indiscreet shot selection during World Cup and the ongoing West Indies tour that has left everyone disappointed.
Kirmani, who played 88 Tests for India, feels that Saha was injured and he deserves equal opportunity just like the burly Delhi keeper.
“Yeh abhi jhule main hai (He is still in his infancy). But he is God gifted but needs to learn a lot,” Kirmani told PTI on the sidelines of the launch of six outlets of Hearing Solutions here.
“It’s the most difficult position on the field. Not everyone can do keeping by just wearing a pair of gloves,” said the member of the 1983 World Cup winning side.
Kirmani, a former chairman of selectors wants Saha to play the next Test in Jamaica.
“Saha unfortunately had some injury problems. He has to be given equal opportunity. What’s the point of keeping him in the side, if you do not give him chance,” Kirmani questioned.
“We have to judge on pure performance. Saha came to Indian side following his consistency at domestic level. But when you’re out of picture, somebody else takes over your place, so the likes of Karthik and Pant came into the picture.
“Now we have to see who’s is more consistent on the field — be it in batting, wicketkeeping or in terms of all-round abilities,” Kirmani said.
The 69-year-old also seemed a trifle irritated with constant speculation over Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s future.
“Leave him alone. There will be a time when he will retire, but we must stop talking about his retirement now.”
Kirmani however wants Dhoni to groom the youngsters in the side before calling it quits.

Lol at 'yeh abhi jhule mein hai'.![]()
you missed the next sentence "HE is god gifted" . Everyone sees a spark in him. That is why irrelevant people like Vaughan who would get nothing out of hyping Pant rate him high. It is a matter of him getting his shot selection right.

I knew you will bring this up that is why I didn't say much in that post. This is the reason why I think he is going to be like Umar Akmal who was another god gifted player.
Also I don't know how many times I have commented about his shot selection, inconsistency and his poor game awareness. It seems it all went above your head because you guys were too busy hyping him up.
That's the problem with you *******. When other players fail you want them out immediately but when one of your favorite player performs badly you try to look for excuses.
You think he will get his shot selection right and start put a price tag on his wicket within a couple of weeks? That's not how it works. Ask Maxwell or Umar Akmal. Those two are god gifted players as well.![]()
Even if a 21 yr old Umar akmal is playing for India I would back him . What if this Umar akmal gets right this time ?He can be a match winner. We have to give enough chances to know what he will become into. For me it's worth taking the risk.

Unfortunately "your players" are mediocre players whose age is on the wrong side of 20s or early 30s. His only competition is Saha. Pant is above him. When Parthiv patel failed they didn't go back to Samir Dighe or Ratra. They moved on. They used Karthik. When he flunked they used Dhoni. At this point there is no new keeper that is competing with Pant. He deserves a solid run. Quit whining after every innings of Pant.

So now they have become my players? FYI they are also indian players or may be you only worship some special players and forget about other players? And you are calling them mediocre? If Rayudu averaging 47 in ODIs is a mediocre player then what will you call Pant?
Sir Naveen, I am not whinning here infact its guys like you who are trying pretty hard to force your opinion on me. Lol at 'he deserves a solid run'. Shows pretty clearly you are a pant f@nboy who can't take criticism of his favorite boy. I prefer players who perform even if they are 30 year olds.
Anyway you have no leg to stand on now that you have called Rayudu a mediocre player because your favorite boy Pant averages just 22 in both ODI's and T20's. His test average will also come below 30 and fans like will you run away from this thread just like KL Rahul fans did in his dedicated thread. That's both my opinion and prediction. Deal with it.![]()
My only favorite batsman overall in the Indian side is Kohli. In Tests Pujara. Nobody else. I will show some bias towards them. But rest of the guys are not my guys. You seriously attack pant just for the sack of attacking him because he is associated with IPL. You have no real sound logic to back or discount a player. Rayudu came into the side without playing any list A games. How? Purely through one good IPL season. Nothing else.

To put Bhaag Viru Bhaag's infantile obsession with Rishabh Pant in perspective, he has made 100 posts out of the 700 in this thread, with the next highest poster having 30 posts. This is not even including the tiresome tirades on every Indian match thread.

Another brogue kick on the face awaits for the hater of the "chosen one".
Even if he fails he"ll avg more than the ftb wkt batsman.

We should just rename this thread to MS Dhoni vs Rishabh Pant![]()

"Am I There Only To Play Tabla?": Ravi Shastri Reacts On "Rap On The Knuckles" Remark On Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant has been heavily criticised by fans and cricket pundits for his shot selection and inability to finish off games for India in the limited overs format. Even team head coach Ravi Shastri had said that if Rishabh Pant keeps on playing rash shots, he will receive a "rap on the knuckles". Speaking to Hindustan Times on Thursday, Ravi Shastri defended his statement and said that if someone goofed up, he would pull them up.
Ravi Shastri was asked if different views from the team management added pressure on Pant. Shastri replied that Pant was getting all the support he needed and he is a world class player.
"Don't say team management, I spoke about 'the rap on the knuckles'. If someone goofs up, I have to pull them up. Am I there only to play tabla? But this guy is world class, this guy can be destructive, can be a destroyer. And we will give him all the support that he needs to prosper in international cricket," Ravi Shastri said.
Speaking on the criticism Pant has faced for his poor shot selection and inability to finish off games for the country, Shastri said that experts can speak but Pant is a special kid.
"Experts, they have a job, they can speak. Pant is a special kid and he has already done enough. And he is only going to learn. This team management will back him to the hilt," Shastri added.
Rishabh Pant has scored 229 runs in 10 innings in One-day Internationals and in the shortest format, Pant has 325 runs to his name in 19 innings.

Finally, the coach has declared that pant will be backed to the hilt.
He is a very special player its good that both kohli and ravi believe in him.
So for all the haters:
Pant will be backed until he becomes consistent, it might take 30 or 40 or 80 matches, doesn't matter. He is the chosen one.

Pant will have failures but he should be backed. He is the future. We have to look at WC 2023.
Losing some bilaterals these days is not a big deal as long as you don't want a repeat of WC '19 semi final.
He should also be batting at 5, and not 4. I am not sure but I feel that we will have MS back in the side so they are trying Pant at 4, which is wrong. MS is not our future, so we should not be forcing Pant to make him a no.4.
Iyer and Gill to fight it at 4 and Pant should bat at 5.

I wonder why Pak management didnt back Umer Akmal to the hilt.![]()

Pant will have failures? When did he succeed in LOI's to start with? And you want him to bat at 5? Not even Dhoni used to bat there in LOI's. Losing bilaterals is not a big deal? Well that's the only thing we are winning these days and you don't mind us losing those as well?
It shows pretty clearly that you are Pant f@nboys and wouldn't mind India losing the match as long as your favorite boy is playing. Fans like you should stay away from national teams and restrict themselves to that Popcorn League.![]()
Lol, man, who exactly is Pant that I will be his f@nboy?? He has done nothing special till now which will make me his fan.
Let me tell you, he is the best we have for that position, will be keeping gloves and is our future. Accept and wish he does well, or else the middle order issue will never be sorted.

Time to try someone else now. He has an average of 20 in 32 LOI matches and he has been playing mostly at 4-6 position. So there should be no excuses for his failures. Not even Dhoni used to bat that higher in LOI's. You can't say that he is the best we have without giving as many chances as he got to other players like Samson who was dropped after just 1 T20 match. Can you see the hypocrisy? Pant deserves 80 matches while others do not even deserve 8 matches?![]()
No, there hasn't been any hypocrisy. He has fared well in Tests and T20s till now. He is unproven in ODIs only where he has played 12 games. I will give him one more complete ODI series to prove himself.
India don't need pant. They can keep playing Dhoni, he's still a good player who should be at no 4. Pant is just too much of a hack dude has no patience.
