Kamran Ghulam?

Zafar is much much better.

Kamran Ghulam-That's the lad whose name I couldn't remember. He is also very talented and probably the better batsman but as far as bowling goes Zafar is the much better bowler at this stage of their careers.

Failed in the WC big time.
I have more hopes from Zafar. He's a MUCH better bowler and batting-wise I think with a little hard work he can be a very good No. 7 or 8 batsman.

PAK doesn't groom all-rounders properly. To me, for a Test quality all-rounder one has to qualify the team as a bowler.

Zafar Gohar is a perfect All-round foil - very good bowler at under 19 level (Now as it looks in FC as well) with the fundamentals of batting & a very cool head. He can be groomed into a top quality all-round in Sakib mold. But for that he has to work twice hard & also need his FC team to support him. In developed FC System, central selection Board often instructs the FC Teams to invest on particular player. ACB instructed Tasmania to make Ponting Captain at 21, so did Smith - Captained domestic side at 20. I think, PCB should made sure that Gohar bats at 5 & bowls at least 45 overs in a 4 Day match. In fact I would made sure that he fields at gully as well.

I actually agree with this, Zafar Gohar is marginally better with the ball but Kamran Ghulam is >>>>>> with the bat.

A bowling all-rounder against a batting all-rounder (and strangely they both look alike), but Ghulam has some serious power and for a small guy can really tonk the ball hard.

I don't care who it is but one of these youngsters should be taken to the WC. Would bring an unknown X-factor to the team.

He's the most exciting spin bowling prospect in Pakistan atm. What I like about him is that he turns the ball and uses flight and changes of pace and has an excellent temperament.I think he will no doubt play for Pakistan and will have a successful career.A classical spinner and one for the future.

Kamran Ghulam is a batting all-rounder. Zafar Gohar is a bowling all-rounder. Overall, Zafar looks a better prospect.

Kamran is a good young bowler but his bowling is a little too slow for the higher levels, Zafar on the other hand is a little faster, which is more suitable for the higher levels.

Maybe he can take the reigns from Afridi after the WC in a year or 2, maybe even more. How's his batting? Didnt bat today iirc, but I hear he can hit it big.

Suicidal to take him to this WC. Certain players will get the boot after a poor WC, and it would be a pity if he is made the scapegoat as well. Needs time to develop.

Loved how he took on the challenge of bowling the last over.

Very high hopes of this lad.

If the selectors have any sense he'll play for Pakistan for many years.

4-37 today for Zafar.

Another fine performance from the youngster.

best turner of the ball amoung all our left arm spinners.

was turning it much more then shah, babar and azhar.

This guy is really a top spinner. I'll have him in the team straight away.

Is averaging under 20 with the ball in ALL three formats.

Averaging above 14 with the bat in ALL formats.

Superb young talent.

a natural replacement for Shahid Afridi, will surely come into the team after the WC.

AZ is spot on.

When I saw this lad in England with the Under 19s it was clear that he had all the basics to become a very fine cricketer. Only a matter of time before he makes his way into the Pakistan senior team where I feel he will play for a number of years.

I watched him in recent ODI Tournament, his strength is the classic left-arm spin which drifts in air & then spins away from right handers. If he can master this ball, 'll enjoy a long, long International career.

Yes, he could be a natural replacement of SKA, with a much better head.

Brilliant fielder too. Most upcoming cricketers even in our U-19 team are poor fielders so his athletic dives in the A-game were a breath of fresh air. Its only a matter of time when he is called up to the national team !

Personally, both shouldn't be in the same lineup unless the conditions allow. They should be rotated depending on how well our batsman our doing.

Zafar is a genuine spinner who can bat decently..

Kamran is a genuinely good batting prospect who is better than part timer with ball

There is a great chance of Ghulam turning into a bits and pieces cricketer.

Agree, Zafar looks really good in his primary job i-e bowling, where has Kamran is yet to prove himself, he didnt even fare well in U19 WC, yes potential is there but not by any means a finished product, Zafar on the other hand should be able to break into the team in an year or so

ZAfar looks beter bowler than Raza hasan atm to me, Good thing is that Raza has himself shown potential to become a bowling AR

Another good performance...btw where is Kamran Gulam?? Why isnt he playing??

Terrific talent! Confident spinner! I thought Raza Hasan was the only upcoming spinning talent but i was wrong! He along with Shahzaib Ahmed are the finest new talents!

Hat-trick for Zafar Gohar!

41.6 Zafar Gohar to Mir Hamza, OUT

43.1 Zafar Gohar to Shahzaib Ahmed, OUT

43.2 Zafar Gohar to Khurram Shahzad, OUT

was bowling too quick for my liking he should spend some time with Zulfiqar Babar and get some tips.

Babar can indeed be an excellent guiding hand for someone like Gohar. Needs to retire and help these young kids, because he's past his prime as a bowler himself.

What I like about him is that he tries to get the wickets.A classical spinner who spins the ball and tries to deceive batsman in flight.

Zafar is a good bowler and a promising all rounder for future. but i noticed he does not have a surprise delivery he is very orthodox. he is still very young and should try to learn a top delivery like Herath does with the arm and it goes in. it will give him a huge edge over other competing spinners for the same spot. there are quite a few left arm spinners in domestic circuit and then there are players like Haris sohail and Fawad alam who can make it difficult for him to make his place in the national team.

if Saeed Ajmal can learn to bowl new deliveries at his age why cant the young ones.

I really hope he is picked for Bangladesh tour, common Haroon Rashid please select him.

One of my favourites. Let's see how he goes about in his upcoming challenge against Sri Lanka A.

Along with Shahzaib Ahmed, he's the finest young prospect in the country. I hope both of them have good tours as they have a much higher ceiling than the pair of Zulfi/Yasir.

pretty excited about this guy. Yea it sucks to lose Raza Hasan and his economical bowling as he has gone down the path of the Asifoon but I think Zafar Gohar will make it much easier to deal with it and I think he's a better batsman as well.

I don't think he has been dropped from ssgc team in the name of rotation policy.

There can be three scenarios :

A. He is unfit.

B. Dropped for disciplinary reasons.

C. He has been called to NCA for training and fitness test. (ODI squad)

Can any sports journalist here at Pp can confirm why he did not play today ?

ODI selection might be a possibility.

Third reason sounds legit, Imad is injured so he can be replacement, i will try to confirm it.

High quality spell by Zafar Gohar today.

# Headache for selectors.

He has had a lot of cushion of runs in this match and some cheap wickets in the end.

Asghar ahead of him.

I really thought Zafar would be a part of the Pakistan team right now. He had good amount potential. A good left arm off spinner whose handy with the bat.

What little I saw of him I thought he was a fine cricketer but don’t know why he’s ignored while mediocrity festers.

Isn’t he amongst the wickets in this ongoing regional cup? Seems a shame that so many decent left handed spinners have all turned up at the same time. But then competition is no bad thing let’s see who rises to the top.

We'll probably end up selecting and investing in the ONE with the least potential.

This guy is a test quality spinner .
The amount of turn he gets for a left arm finger spinner is amazing .
Prone to getting hit in limited overs at times . Hope that dont judge him for that.

If Inzi had an eye for talent he'd get this guy in as the 2nd Test spinner.
