[VIDEOS] Azam Khan - Performance Watch

When you are fat and try to become lean that is very difficult and not as easy people think. I think dieticians or posters who are into fitness can maybe better explain this here.

The reason i choose those 5 is because those are the 5 cricketers who were fat but never toned down their body...

If there was a cricketer who was fat and became lean do tell us.

I'm no dietician but even i understand calories is vs calories out. If you consume less calories than you burn over a prolonged period of time you will lose weight. It's no more complicated than that.

Azam Khan has had years at this point to show consistency towards a reasonable diet/gym program but he can't do it and we know why. It takes discipline, sacrifice and effort to lose weight. This is something Azam has never practiced in his life thanks to his upbringing. Weight loss is not achievable for him.

To say 'none of these 5 average cricketers have lost weight therefore it cannot be done' is pretty hilarious though so thanks for that. The reason the sample size might be so small is that the Azam Khan's are usually weeded out well before domestic level... unless you have extraordinary talent or a famous father.

He'd be a better cricketer in all facets if he lost weight.

Surely he and those advising him must realise that.

If you listen to his interviews, you will get an idea that someone has put it in his head that if he drastically loses weight, he will lose all power and strength which will negatively impact his power hitting abilities

Can we be sure that the reason he has not lost weight is because of lack of training? From what he we know, he does train very hard. It could even be a medical condition with the guy and we should be sympathetic to it.

Azam could have a health condition which makes it difficult for him to lose the weight, and we don’t know what his life looks like away from the field, but all that said his size is still a problem for him.

I was watching the chap in the highlights from last night and he isn’t just overweight (which is very common) — he is a really, really big guy, and he looks especially large in his unflattering team uniform.

For an elite sportsman/athlete I found him a bit uncomfortable to watch at times.

bhai, those 5 mentioned cricketers are fat and couldn't become lean. If there are cricketers who were fat and turned lean than plz mention them here.

You are bashing his upbringing without even knowing him, again that is personal.

The sample size you complain about, well there are 5 fat cricketers that currently play around

Inzy set this trend. He's to blame because he made "fire in the belly" fashionable.

Difference between being lean and maintaining that and being fat and trying to get lean.

I never said azam should be gicen pass, i basically saying that it is very difficukt as we havent seen any cricketer turn from fat to lean. The odds are against him ...

In domestix him being fat i dont care, yes to play international he would have to get lean but i doubt he can do that. Very difficult.

Misbah would disagree with this and rightly so.

You may love the sight of bellies bouncing up and down on a cricket fielld but as a Pakistan fan, we want to see health and fitness.

Plz do bother to read all the posts before jumping in and making a comment.

I never talked about him playing for pakistan

2 fifties out of 11 innings for someone batting number 4 or 5 isn't good enough really.

He has work to do on his batting and his fitness and I still maintain that this lad is not a wicket-keeper.

How many 50's are you looking for in T20 matches with a batsmen coming it at 4-5 in mostly slogging situations? His SR was pretty great and had a solid average to go along with it.

Fitness remains an issue but he could be the middle order power hitter Pakistan needs if he can figure that out.

Its not about runs but the mostly ugly runs which concerns me.
