Why do I feel that the speeds were a bit exaggerated today? Heck even abbot was bowling around 146kph

Lol. Saini has bowled 150ks in international cricket. What are you on about?
I understand this is hard to digest for you.
yep wont be surprised if Nortje hits 155+ too today
Bowled fast but 52 runs and no wickets to show for that.
Can anyone upload a clip of that 157 kph delivery plz?

Who Tait was bowling to?care to tellGot smashed to the boundary.

Go check Shaun Taits over and see what 157kph actually is.

Farhat of all in t20s
Powell is Viv Richards?
Nothing to do with batsmen but at that pace every batsmen will struggle.
It's that quick.

Was quick but went quicker to the boundary it seems

It'll be interesting to see if he can sustain this level of pace over an extended period of time or whether this is one of those bowlers who bowls quick and then suffers serious injuries and returns as a 135kph bowler.
I hope he does well, sustains his pace and does well in international cricket, as modern day cricket needs such bowlers.
If he is consistently bowling at this speed currently then surely he is wasting his energy in useless IPL matches lol. He should save it for internationals because IPL will kill his career within next 2-3 years. He will remain unfit for the real cricket matches.![]()
He's doing it for the money and more glory to him. Someone with his background needs to play as many IPLs as possible and make as much money as he can. His priority should be to make quick money, short IPL career of bowling quick is probably better than a long international career of being a trundler.

IPL is good in a way of giving financial benefits and giving them recognition but it's a bitter reality that many Indian in players will play less international cricket because of IPL, even Kohli has been affected, Bumrah , Eth second coming of kapil and many more.
If you have ever read my opinions regarding IPL here, you would have noticed that I always talked about Kohli and Bumrah skipping IPL to prolong their international career. I said this few years ago and I will say it again that Bumrah should skip playing in useless Pyjama Leagues otherwise he will be burned out sooner than expected.![]()
He might be the most consistently fastest bowler of all time. Even better, he has the cleanest bowling action. Hope he remains injury free and breaks the 165-170 km/hr barrier
People are doubting umran maliks quickness just because he will break Akhtar's record any day and plus because he is indian and not pakistan. Had he been pakistani, the same posters would had been very positive.
Also before doubting, do take a look at the way lockie ferguson bowls. He doesnt seem quick yet he bowls really fast deliveries
Relax SRK. He is some distance away from Akhtar's record.
But yes he is express.
perhaps the fastest bowler in the world currently. May be this is unacceptable to some.

Unless he gets injured, akhtars record is a goner.
Than we will be celebrating that akhtar was fastest in international......
I thought pakistanis would be supporting this guy knowing hes from jammu
Only 3 people have bowled at 100mph in the 150 years of cricket. Its not an easy thing, esp for a 22 year old playing his 1st season.
Tbh i would be happy if he is consistently 95 mph and above.
His being a muslim or from Jammu should not matter.
To be honest Akhtar is history - and not many care about what he did in the past.
Lets concentrate on Umran
His origin (and probably his religion) should not be a concern.
From where did players like Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly, Zak, Sehwag, Dhoni, Yuvi, Gambhir, Kohli, Raina come? Where were they showcasing their skills lol? They talk about Pandya as if he is the best all-rounder in the world lol.Mumbai: Over the years, IPL has given a chance to raw talent to shine. Players like Jasprit Bumraha nd Hardik Pandya owe everything to the cash-rich league. Had the IPL not been there, so many players in the domestic circuit would never have got a chance to showcase their skills.

Origin for good cause? Can you explain what does that mean?
Being the fastest has its aura. Yes, akhtars personality also played a part in that build up.
Im hoping Umran breaks the record and than gets the same hype. After which he can use his origin for a good cause if he ends up getting celebrity power
Umran has to break Akhtar's record in International Cricket not in some Lallu Panju League.![]()
They have unearthed a gem here. Exciting to watch this lad, easily the fastest bowler in the world at the moment.kid is quick..no doubt..looks like a really good prospect for India..
The key is to look after him now. T20 will hurt a fast bowler. has he played any first class cricket? I worry about him on Indian wickets in first class cricket.
Action is slingy so should get reverse with a red ball. Doesnt matter if he is bowlinf 147 or 154 as long as its above 145-146 he will cause trouble..especially in england and new zealand. Australia will be a challenge so they should get him into the A team as soon as possible..let him tour a bit..wrap him in cotton wool..shami and co are looking a bit long in the tooth and Bumrah could use the support..
Oh please, stop hyping them again on the basis of some Lallu Panju League performances. Khaleel was nothing special when he last played for India. Bawa and Hangargekar will be wasted just like Mavi and Nagarkotti. Umran hasn't played a single international match yet. Even Siraj didn't impress in LOIs either. It seems he didn't learn anything in IPL. He is in the test team because of his performances in domestic cricket. So you should thank domestic cricket for that.No lie, for a while I did fear what happens when Shami and Umesh bow out together leaving Bumrah on his own and overworked as a result.
But look at us now - Siraj, Prasidh, Kartik, Umran, Kuldeep, Arshdeep, Khaleel and Mohsin have come along without much of a fuss.
Couple of U19 stars like Bawa and hangargekar have not got game time yet but they'll be ready in time.
#ThankYouIPL
Time for bcci to get into the act. Umran deserves the best facilities Money can buy.
Take him to NCA. Select him for LoIs.
For heaven's sake, he is going to be more productive than 33 year old Bhuvi or 29 year old Chahar that we keep selecting.
Despite all his pace , Umran is far from being a ODI-Test ready. He needs to develops movement and a good slower one so that he can be a deadly prospect. Personally i rather him play T20 only for rest of this year. By 2023 he should be given chance in ODI. Tests should be still far away.

Fact is we keep hearing about these names from IPL fans, but when the time comes to give a performance in the most important matches of the international tourney, these guys fail very badly. I will keep my expectations low regarding Umran Malik. If he is good then I hope he stays fit after playing useless IPL every year.![]()
I mean you just compare IPL with world T20. 70 percent of the matches in world T20 are Bang vs netherlands or AUS vs Ireland or SL vs Zimbabwe etc - low quality waste of time. And played before empty stands.
Compare that to IPL with no freebie matches. And Wankhede today is packed after hosting matches daily for a month now - no dip in viewer enthusiasm.
IPL is pretty much the highest quality of cricket in limited overs one can possibly watch.
If a player hasn't proved himself in IPL, then he has not proved himself at all. Simple as that.
But that guy is just spreading false news.Thread topic is Umran Malik.
Stick to it.
Generic Benefits of IPL for mankind etc can go in other threads.
So what is stopping India from winning ICC LOI tournaments now? A guy like Krunal Pandya who I think has proved himself in IPL was struggling to middle the ball in international cricket. That's the quality of IPL.![]()
Extraordinary talent showcasing his blistering speed once again today. He’s a must in the Indian squad. Will easily become too 5 bowlers in the world.
He’s cranking it up again today
Does he have a fitness to last in a test match? It is one thing to bowl 4 overs with real pace and another to bowl that fast in a test match regularly especially in subcontinent conditions.![]()
Not sure if you are being serious or not?
What matches have you been watching of late.
The guy is a glorified Sami/Wahab.
Stop hating lad the whole world is raving about this special kid. And he’s bowling at 96 mph and 155kph consistently which is no joke.
I’ve been following him very closely and he’s bowled some lethal deliveries. Guys here to stay weather you like it or not. He’s in the Brett Lee Shoaib AKHTAR category.
Krunal Pandya, AVG 24, SR 130
Ravindra Jadeja AVg 21, SR 126
Krunal is better than Jadeja in t20s but obviously since nobody hyped Jadeja on your face, so he should play for India I guess that's your logic here lol.![]()
He has played just 1 ListA match and 3 FC matches. So he has the some stamina.
However in a 50 over match vs Bengal, he went for 98 runs in 10 overs with 1 wicket.
In test matches he will operate in mid 140's for most part with occasional 150+ balls.
He is just too inexperienced to be drafted into national side.
As long as he can avoid major injury , he will remain pretty quick.
