Mubashir is playing with an "SS" bat, is it an Indian bat, can anyone shed some light on it?
I think there is a sports brand of this name in sialkot that make cricket equipment.
And 150. Brilliant knock especially considering the context. This should have been an easy victory for Sindh after they had Northern 4 down with 200 odd runs to go still.
Second highest first class score on debut by any Pakistani ever.
12th youngest Pakistani to make a century on debut, and I hear that he’s a genuine 18 year old too.
What a fantastic young talent!
He, Abdullah Shafique and Rohail Nazir really need to be fast-tracked like Shaheen Shah Afridi was.
Definitely!Do you rate Saud Shakeel and Haider Ali?
Definitely!
Pakistan already can’t reach the 2021 World Test Championship Final so they should already build for 2023 by dropping Abid Ali, Azhar Ali, Haris Sohail and Fawad Alam, replacing them with Abdullah Shafique, Haider Ali and Saud Shakeel in the Test team now.
With Mubasir Khan added now!

From PCB report for Round 8. QeA20:
Valiant centuries by debutant Mubasir Khan and Hammad Azam helped Northern remain on the second spot in the six-team points table as their eighth round first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy fixture against Sindh ended in a draw at the National Stadium.
Mubasir, playing his maiden first-class match after a fantastic run with Northern U19 and Northern Second XI sides, smashed a magnificent 164. Over the course of his 241-ball knock, the 18-year-old right-handed batsman crunched 24 boundaries in front of the broadcast cameras.

End your fascination with Sajid Khan. That guy is 35+.
Looked good on the back foot as well as front foot against both pace and spin. Not to forget that his bowling stats were even better than his batting in domestic U19 tournaments he played recently. If he can keep working hard and his head down, he should have a decent future.
Videos of his bowling?
He should play for Pakistan Shaheens
Very classy innings.
Unless I missed something,He is a guy that will bowl 8 overs a day at the higher level. Just needs to concentrate on his batting, looks a genuine 5 and maybe a future 4, if he keeps developing
He averaged 11 in the U19 tournament, and took a 9-fer in the second XI game. Was unsuccessful in this current game but don’t write his bowling off yet.
For me his bowling will get in the way of a potentially good batsman. We need good young batsman and as history shows his bowling average will be higher than batting. If I was the coach, I would tell to concentrate on his batting.

He is a natural with cricketing skills some people just are if he has good commitment and discipline why not focus on both. A Shakib Al hassan level cricketer will dowonders for our combination. For me his bowling will get in the way of a potentially good batsman. Definitely agree that we need batting talent, but suddenly we have an entire crop of good batsmen emerging. Ali Zaryab, Omair bin Yousuf, Abdullah Shafique, Haider Ali, Saim Ayub, Muhammad Huraira, Abdul Faseeh. This kid has something none of those other batsmen do — logic-defying bowling numbers in age group and grade 2 cricket, that too as an offie.
If anything, his bowling is what might elevate him as a player — we’ve been sorely missing out on good all rounders, and he just might fill that gap.
You will probably not make for a good coach then I guess. Anyone who some him bowl in the last game can tell that he was the pick of the bowlers in Northern. Didn't get any wickets but was inducing edges and was regularly getting batsmen to stretch their front feet out of the crease. Somehow he was being respected by the Sindh Batsmen as they didn't take him on and he bowled more than 20 overs with a very good economy rate and kept the pressure from one end. With clean action and good confidence, there is no reason why he can not become a World Class all-rounder.
As I explained above, all rounders are a rarity, good all rounders are nearly as rare as hens teeth. In over a 100 years we have seen around 10 genuine all rounders.
Why limit our expectations though? Your assumption is that if he focuses on developing one skill, he will regress in the other. That doesn’t necessarily have to be true.
But one thing is for certain, 2-3 years developing all facets of his game until the age of 21 will do him a world of good. It’s when people like this are fast tracked to the PSL and then the national team, that their development stalls.
Finally, even assuming you are right about focusing on one skill, I will have him focus on bowling. The batting potential will always be there, but the hundreds of overs spent bowling will never come otherwise.

96* now. I take credit for being the first person on PP to spot him![]()
Omg what a pull shot off the front foot right after his hundred
Definitely!

Okay so got around to watching his innings and he looks a real talent.
With Northern battling to save the match - you can either try to bat normally or completely shut up shop. Mubasir and Hammad played positively producing an incredible partnership on a typical NSK wicket where it starts off providing a bit of assistance for seamers before becoming more easy paced for the batters.
Mubasir never looked rushed, his head is nice and still and the boundaries he scored were not slogs but proper cricket shots on both sides of the wicket. Sindh tried to test him repeatedly with the short stuff but he pulled the ball so well.
The next step is to push him higher up the order and see how he fares on a surface doing a bit more. He needs another season of QEA and an overseas trip with Pak Shaheens before we think about the national team.
What little I saw of his spin bowling from the highlights seemed okay, nice clean action but pitch was flat. Hopefully he'll get a chance to bowl more overs on more supportive wickets.
Defonitely saud should play as for mubasir needs a full season in domestic before playing internationals
Ofcourse, other than skills what you want in your players is consistency and ability to play in different match situations and conditions. During next couple of seasons mubashir must prove himself in these aspects before being introduced to highest level

I have to give credit to Bullet Drive and Thunderbolt14 for spotting this talent and showing us why he is the next big thing.
Bullet Drive seen this kid before u19 days and marked both Mubasir Khan and Abdul Faseeh as the next big thing. I actually had a chat with him and we talked and he sent me there pictures, as many people didnt know who they were.
I have to also give credit to Thunderbolt14 for showing us videos of his batting and bowling. The way he analyzed his game was exceptional. I dont even think Pak team analyst can analyze someones game like you did bro
Keep it up my brothers.
man, some awesome strokes there. Looks like Kohli.

Eighteen-year-old Mubasir, who scored a century on his first-class debut in the eighth round, was unbeaten on 57.
Lol. Not sure what to trust these days
