They did have Shaheen with them last year. The issue here is the auction. I think the highest base price you could place is $80k (I’m not sure about this), and DV get any Pakistani player on base price because no other team will bid for them.

So if you match whatever Shaheen is making at Brisbane, it’s most likely way more than the $80k he would make playing for DV.

BBL Platinum picks make anywhere between $360,000 to $420,000 AUD. Babar I think is getting the highest. Shaheen still should be getting the lower end at a minimum.

Pakistani players getting exposed in BBL so far. Only Shadab played note worthy inning but his batting slow down the tempo of the inning ..players around him played lot better than him and he was clearly struggling to hit big. Another selfish inning by Pakistani imo
 
I don’t think he was getting booed but this myth about him being some sort of extreme crowd puller needs to be questioned.

I can only see 20% stadium capacity full. Clearly my guy is no crowd puller!

Percentage of capacity matters less as SCG capacity is like 50,000 while Pindi has something like 15,000.

I don’t think it’s about getting exposed. But more the fact they can’t handle the pressure. Too much of attention and expectations same as in international cricket. As the tournament will progress I feel they will settle down a bit.
 
Shaheen will come good, so will Haris Rauf. They have the ability to run through teams and bowl fast yorkers. They can deliver a few spells for sure. Haris in particular, if he quit Pakistan cricket he would be picked for every league in the world. He just has brain fades in pressure international games but his pace means he is better than 90% of franchise cricketers.

Hassan Ali will be dependable. He's the type of player that would be a good player if he was a local, but the jury is out if he is a suitable player for overseas pick in a league like this.

Shadab I am eager to see how he does, I am looking forward to seeing how his bowling progresses.

Rizwan, will do enough to not be disgraced, but wont do enough to reselected.

I think this spell could burst Babar's balloon, though. He ain't cut out for these big boundaries and fast-paced cricket. Man needs to really dig deep and step it up, throw caution to the wind and see how he fares. If he plays his natural game he is cooked even if he scores.

Regardless I really do hope they all somehow do well. It will open up the doors for our next gen, Saim, Maaz etc to get into BBL next season.

Babar will not need to just survive but also thrive. He has to play faster Cricket. That's simply the nature in BBL. You don't see 200+ there in every game because boundaries are big. But that also means that you need to play a positively to reach those 160-180 scores.

I dunno about Hasan. He has been mostly terrible in LOIs since his injury. He will only be remembered for his Champions 🏆 outing. He suffers from brain fade as well, and as Rauf, loses plot.

Cricket doesn't work solely on stats like that. He bowled important overs. One in power surge (special two-over batting powerplay where only two fielders are allowed outside the circle) and one is death. Plus 9 an over is normal in T20 Cricket these days.
 
Like Deadly Venom said, I also don't see Babar Azam performing in the BBL at all. Sydney Sixers looked more at the PR around Babar rather than the player himself.

But I actually don't see Rizwan performing at all but Shadab, Shaheen, Rauf & potentially Hasan could do well. Specially with the variation they possess.

Kind of surprised M.Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, Saim Ayub, Faheem Ashraf & maybe Usman Tariq, Sufiyaan Muqeem weren't looked at for this season's BBL.

okay one surge over would have an impact… but still “nice outing” is a massive reach if you have the worst economy out of all bowlers who bowled more than an over and have zero wickets to your name.

Who was the other bowler who bowled in the surge overs? I’m sure someone else also bowled at the death.

9 an over is fine if other bowlers around the same economy.

Very weak characters. I’m assuming the bowlers won’t have a problem staying on it’s just the others (mentioning no names 🤐)

Hopefully Naqvi makes them fulfil their obligations.

There could also be another reason whereby they have realised they ain't getting Aussies for PSL anyway so may just pull players out for the sake of it. Never know with PCB man.

Either way whatever the reasons if the players leave it is bad for us

So it is sheenu and babar who are speculated to opt out of bbl as only these 2 are in contention for wc26.
Rizwan rauf hassan are not in wc plans as far as i know

These franchises gave into the propaganda on social media, but ultimately you need to deliver results & does performing like a pair of bare bums in the shower - justify the few extra ticket sales because Pakistan fans are the most delusional group these days outside Indians, I come from a region where we would happily throw bricks at this lot though.

People getting frustrated with how Shaheen being utilised…

You need to remember, Heat have signed him as their premier overseas seamer. In their mind, they have signed a Rabada/Cummins level bowler. They won’t use him for what’s easy for him. They expect him to deliver where they are struggling in.

It’s Shaheen who needs to justify the hype and price tag.
 
The onus is on SSA to prove himself as a marquee signing , because unlike RizBar who are available for all formats SSA focus is always on white ball format

But he is right to say that to you when you constantly and unjustifiably shove Rizwan and Babar into the T20 side by using Agha as the scapegoat

Why can’t you simply admit those two laanats have no place in T20?

But then the players contact Pakistan selectors…

Surely that’s enough grounds for Cricket Australia to take the players to court for breach of contract if they do run away?

Apart from shaheen and babar rest of them don't even in team so they will play full league....

After seeing Pak players performances in BBL, Todd will change his mind to let them play full BBL and release all of them mid-season.

Todd cares about the viewership

He’s getting that.

A lot of people around the world don’t bother to watch the entire match once Babar or Rizwan get out. If Todd feels that the viewership is not as he anticipated, he will change his stance I guess.
