3 umpires in thr afghanistan vs sri lanka game and all three messing up.

The first one gave a wrong decision against fazalhaq who reviewed got his wicket.

The second umpire wrongfully gave an edge decision against the sri lankan batsmen. There was no noise.

Gets reviewed, no major spike on ultra edge, data was inconclusive, third umpire gave it out.

Naveen-ul-Haq to Nissanka, out Caught by Gurbaz!! 129kph, Afghanistan appeal, up goes umpire Anil Kumar Chaudhary's finger. Nissanka is shocked, has a word with his batting partner and signals 'T'.

Nissanka walked forward and moved slightly leg-side for an ambitious heave across the line. Was there a faint outside edge? "I see a spike as the ball passes the bat. Satisified bat involved," says the TV umpire. Wow! It was just a murmur on UltraEdge, not a spike.

Controversial moment, perhaps. The Sri Lankan fans are stunned and so are a couple of members in their dressing room.

Afghanistan, meanwhile, celebrate. It was a fullish delivery that went away from the right-hander. It might have been the leg-cutter from Naveen-ul-Haq. Nissanka was late to review as well. 5/3 - Sri Lanka in trouble! Nissanka c Gurbaz b Naveen-ul-Haq 3(7)

Surprising, only been 3 overs and already 3 wrong calls. Drs had to be used already 2 x within 3 overs.

As the Asia Cup 2022 kicked off with Afghanistan taking on Sri Lanka, it did not take long for controversy to strike. After Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi won the toss and opted to field, there was an instant adrenaline rush as pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi struck with the final two deliveries of the first over of the match. Rocked by the early wickets, Sri Lanka would have banked on the reliable Pathum Nissanka to steady the ship. But off the final delivery of the next over, Nissanka was given out caught behind off Naveen-ul-Haq.

However, the right-hander immediately asked for a review and replays showed there was barely a murmur on the snicko. A very minor disturbance could be seen, but it seemed like Nissanka had got a reprieve.

The third umpire, however, decided that the faint spike on the snicko was enough to stick to the original decision and much to his dismay and that of Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka and head coach Chris Silverwood in the dugout, Nissanka had to walk back.

The decision also sparked anger on Twitter.

"Never saw any spike on the ultra edge re Pathum Nissanka's review. Horrible decision by the 3rd Umpire Jayaraman," tweeted Sri Lankan commentator and former club cricketer Roshan Abeysinghe.

"Would be interested to see what the explanation for that Nissanka decision is. No way you can say ultra edge gave any evidence to suggest there was a nick," wrote a user.

"How come this is not out and Nissanka review is out. Umpires are having a off day," another user tweeted.

3rd umpire said on screen that he felt there was a small spike and so he gave it out.

To be honest, there was indeed a tremor. So, I can see why umpire gave it out.

On-field umpiring was poor though.

I support afg crickrt, and wont critisize onfield umpires, but when a third umpire makes a mistake with technology than it gets ridiculous.

Waseem said that the tremor existed there even when the ball was not even making contact. It was a school boy error.

After that error, everyone felt scared when afg would later in the match make another review of an edge delivery.

Their was also tremor before it hit the bat.

Looked nervous and incompetent the Sri Lankan umpire.

Gave Rizwan out when it was too high.

Even the Fakhar dismissal I don't think the umpire had any clue that he had hit it.

The umpire only raised the finger after Fakhar started walking.

Umpring standards at ASIA CUP

...i dont need to say more, but well below standard

missing easy calls.

overall conduct seems like its a domestic tournament

clear LBW missed by the umpire right now against SKY

yes, the umpires seem like theyre under pressure and easily making calls based on players' appeals and actions

not impressed at all.
