Rabada is the biggest failure in this world cup. Such pathetic performances!

He even said something to Faf Du Plesis. The f word I think.![]()
He had a below par World Cup and has looked very unthreatening in the current test v India. Before that, even in the series against Pakistan he wasnt at his best. His pace also seems to be down.
Is it a case of being overworked? A temporary dip in form? Or is he a bowler that needs assistance of the pitch to aid him?
his stats need correction he is a good bowler but his stats are inflated like Jadeja or Ashwin due to bowling on some over supporting tracks against batsmen who are clueless for those conditions.
I believe since readmission I would put DOnald and Steyn above his class and maybe even Young Pollock.
This is my rating
Steyn
Donald
Pollock=Rabada
Philander
Nitini
Morne Morkel shoud be above Philander and Ntini in my opinion.
He needs to be more aggressive on asian pitches. Bowl him in short bursts, bowl yorkers and bouncers, set a different field and be patient, wait for the reverse swing.
Having Steyn with him would have helped hi, Steyn mastered bowling in Asia and his record in Asia is on par with Wasim, Waqar, Imran and Shoaib.
Being aggressive won't matter when you're not talented enough. Steyn is the only modern pacer who adapted to all conditions. Rabada, Anderson etc are great bowlers but not as good.
Steyn might as well be the greatest test bowler of all time, absolutely dominated ATG batsmen in 2000s and early 2010s (the worst period ever in test history for bowlers)

Rabada is not talented enough?Do you know what talent is? There isn't a skill he doesn't have in his armoury.
By that logic every asian spinner is rubbish, they never had to play their teammates who are the best batsmen of spin.Steyn is one of the greats in Test cricket but his record is a bit inflated as well. Wasn’t special against Australia and England and has the luxury to not face South African batsmen who were phenomenal in Test cricket. Among the best batting lineups of his era, he only dominated India.
His record is very good in Asia but Faf was caught tampering twice in UAE and Sri Lanka, and he took a lot of wickets in those Tests. He also benefited greatly by having his workload managed in ODIs.
He is probably in the top 10 Test pacers of all time but putting him right at the top is overrating him.

if you put it that way then waqar isn't the greatest either. he averaged 30 plus against india in India. Not sure about wasim. might be wrong actually. Not really. Pakistan is crap against spin, Sri Lanka have been poor after Sangakkara and Mahela and Bangladesh don’t know how to play Test cricket. Collectively, India is the only team that is masterful against spin right now.
If all the Asian teams are great against spin and if a particular spinner struggles against them while feasting on English, Australian, South African and New Zealand players, his record would be clearly inflated.
The four best batting lineups of Steyn’s peak (2008-2013) were South Africa, India, England and Australia (in no particular order). Yes these teams had their ups and downs at different periods, but generally speaking, during these 6 years where Steyn was at the peak of his powers, these aforementioned lineups were superior to Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies and of course Bangladesh.
Steyn averages 31 vs England and 28 vs Australia. He didn’t face South Africa but his record against India is wonderful. However, an underwhelming record against two of the three best lineups of his era (since he cannot play South Africa) clearly indicates that he is not the greatest fast bowler of all time as some suggest.
Nonetheless, he is undoubtedly one of the best and putting him in the top 10 of all time seems quite reasonable to me. Had he dominated England and Australia like he dominated India, there would have been little doubt over his status as the best ever.
no rabada is just overrated just like many other bowlers. He isn't good enough in subcontinent pitches. he averages 55.
There is only one great bowler from Australia who had a great average everywhere. That's mcgrath.
Can't bowl on anything other than a greentop. Wicket-less so far.
The Ashwin of South Africa.

he is so overrated. it's hilarious. one of best of the second tier group but not top tier.
