Virat Kohli's Test form - A cause for concern?

Well a lot of people rate Bradman as the best batsmen ever despite him playing in an amateur era.. Bradman of that time will average less than 10 today but still he is considered as the greatest by many..

I too like kohli wrt cricket skills. You might not even know Don never had a batting coach and he is self-taught in his own backyard, initially. And he learnt and made all those runs on uncovered pitches without helmet and knowledge of post match analysis. Everything was intuitional. You might argue different teams, countries were not in his time and no video analysis. The former points uncoveer pitches, no helmets etc nullify them. And he lost 7 years of hid prime career due to world war 2 and came back into side in early 40s of his age and still continued the same.

No comparison, different times, differrnt people. If 100 years from now people outsmart you will that make you lesser, I do not think so. Everyone has his own identity. And near perfect people more so.

To me and many fans, DON is #1-5 of all time.
Let us leave him out of this. And btw, I am an Indian.

It’s not right to compare the current batsmen with Bradman who I personally believe is highly overrated. He played 90% of his games against same opponent, same bowlers and scored those 10000 runs in Australia and England.

That’s what I said mate If you rate Bradman highly without considering the era he played in then Kohli playing in today’s era should not go against him.

I have nothing but respect for Sir Don and I know about his struggles and how he practised with golf balls etc.. My post was that if Bradman is rated highly despite the era he played in similarly Kohli should not be dismissed just because he plays in current era..

Regarding the point you made about uncovered pitches and all the bowlers in that era were slower than robin Singh just watch whatever clips there are available on YouTube and you will see yourself.. Nothing against Bradman he was ahead of his time and was a consistent run scoring machine but it was an amateur era and whether he could have repeated his records in a professional era or not is pure speculation and can never be proven..

Second best test batsmen of his era and should also end up as the second best test batsmen among 2000s post debutant.
