West Indies won the toss and elected to field.

West Indies: 1 Kraigg Brathwaite, 2 Devon Smith, 3 Kieran Powell, 4 Shai Hope, 5 Roston Chase, 6 Shane Dowrich (wk), 7 Jason Holder (capt), 8 Devendra Bishoo, 9 Kemar Roach, 10 Miguel Cummins, 11 Shannon Gabriel

Bangladesh: 1 Tamim Iqbal, 2 Liton Das, 3 Mominul Haque, 4 Mushfiqur Rahim, 5 Shakib Al Hasan (capt), 6 Mahmudullah, 7 Nurul Hasan (wk), 8 Mehidy Hasan Miraz, 9 Rubel Hossain, 10 Abu Jayed, 11 Kamrul Islam

Bangladesh are 18-5 after 8.5 overs

Roach on fire taking all the 5 wickets.

Bangladesh really have regressed in the last couple of years. Giving Roach a fifer in his very first spell? That's disappointing.

Tamim- 4
Mominul - 1
Rahim,Sakib Mahmadullah - 0 each

Lol kemar roach fiery spell.

Watching this live - pure carnage. Bangladesh batsmen need to stop poking outside off with hard hands and no feet movement.

Asking for trouble on this grassy wicket.

Roach has bowled accurately.

And their fans think Bangladesh as best of the best teams. Time to remove test status.

35-9 after 16.2 overs

Bangladesh are welcomed to windies in hostile manner

What??
Is this for real??
Didn't even knew there was a test match. And when I saw it on cricinfo I was like

What 35-9???

Surely Bangladesh shouldn't be hosted for Tests, especially outside Asia. They are a disgrace to Test cricket.

Holy crap 39 for 9 .... is garner,Marshall, Holding and Ambrose back in west indies team?

HAHAHAHAHA. At least Afghanistan got destroyed in India, this match could be over in two days.

Great first innings by second best Asian side. 43 all out ..only Luton das managed to reach double digit figures of 25 runs.

Bangladesh were trolling Sri Lanka with their Nagin dance few months ago. SL never became this crap.

I am enjoying this humiliation. Arrogance is never a good thing.

Lol.. 10 single digits in there.

Where are my Bangla bros today?

THIS THREAD DIDN'T REACH 10 POSTS, AND 10 BATSMEN WENT BACK TO THE PAVILION. IS THIS SOME KIND OF RECORD ON PP??

the credit goes to Roach, he was brutal. Good to see him back, I remember watching him WC11 he was the only bowler from Windies who was a threat, generating good pace on batting wickets.

West Indies have done well getting rid of prima donnas like Gayle and Bravo and rallying the team around Holder. They have got some good pacers like Gabriel, Roach and Cummins (Joseph is promising too). Their spin is not bad with Warrican and Bishoo. Holder himself is a better batsman than most think and is a good third bowler. Their batting with Brathwaite, Hope and Dowrich looks promising. They even managed to win tests in UAE and England after a long time. If they keep going like this, they should become a solid 5th-6th ranked team in a couple of years.

I agree with most of that but Bishoo is bang average. Unacceptable for a spinner averaging nearly 40 despite playing at home on generally spin friendly Caribbean wickets. Cannot remember the last time he made a matchwinning contribution.

8-49 against Pakistan in 2016.

Im assuming Bishoo is only there in case something incredible happens and Bangladesh are batting on days 4/5.

What happened to Darren Bravo?

We slogged our wickets that day looking to get quick runs. We won that Test match.

Bishoo lacks the pace through the air like a Yasir Shah and is prone to bowling one loose delivery per over. WI need to upgrade on him as he will not trouble good players of spin.

What happened to Darren Bravo?

Had a dispute with the WICB Chairman which began when Bravo called him a "big idiot" on Twitter after being demoted in the Central Contracts.

Selectors have ignored him ever since.

He is still young (by spinner standards) and most leggies hit their peak in the 30s. He still has shown talent and if persisted, he can get better. He also can bat a bit so that does not hurt as opposed to Benn and Shillingford who were duds with the bat.

What an incredible collapse by Bangladesh yesterday, on one hand I want to laugh at them, on one hand I'm upset as you want more teams to be doing well in cricket, Bangladesh had recently improved and people had accepted they were no longer minnows but recent results suggest that was just a good phase for them

271 . 3

lead already 228 runs . Bongs looking down the barrel now. Very tough for them to make a comeback.

Bangladesh will have to look to trigger a collapse here , so that they can restrict the lead to around 300

297 runs lead so far , Bangladesh would want to get rid of last three wickets quickly.

Lead is now past 300 , big lead . WI would like to bat on here , and grind Bangladesh bowling further as much as possible.

Anyone watching this? More entertaining than T20s.

Bangladesh can have TWO more innings after this one ..... they will still loose !!!!!

Shakib gone

BD should stop playing outside home. This is seriously embarrassing.

I am sure BD fans will have an explanation. If only they had played x,y, z instead of a,b,c they would have thumped West Indies :) Second explanation would be if only they had sent x ahead of a, y ahead of b, z ahead of c they would have crushed West Indies.

It's going to be cruel to ask Bangladesh to come back tomorrow. WI knock off the last 4 tonight please.

Whitewashed by Afganistan in T20s, humiliated by WI in Test...I think Bangladesh deserve that minnow tag again.

Really disappointing that BANG have played like they've time traveled back to the early 2000s. A strong BANG team makes the cricketing world richer.

We should remember the Windies have to bat last on this pitch. Still anyone's game here I reckon.

Agree. Shakib alone could be a lot for the WI batsmen. A world class all rounder like him can turn around a test match.

This is also a great experience for the young stars of Bangladesh cricket who’ve already proved their mettle in the shorter formats.

The tip of the arrow definitely points north.

Bangladesh needs to just play ireland and Afghans in tests, this is shameful.
