West Indies beat Pakistan by 1 wicket in the 1st Test match at Kingston

Pakistan should win from here. Just need to avoid big overs.
 
I wish Hasan had the consistency of Abbas in terms of line and length. Whenever he gets it pitched right he extracts something from the wicket.

Been glancing at this forum in the last few days and saw a lot of people praising Imran Butt's catching.
Is he also the guy who did an impressive cartwheel when going for an edge a few overs ago?
If so very impressive.
Great finish here, been a really enjoyable test up to now.
 
Pakistan needed that wicket badly.

Surely they can win this now.
 
Yasir is useless at gully. Have seen the guy diving around all test match with absolutely nothing stopped. What has this guy's contribution been in the entire match.
 
Dont let the foot of the gas. Attack attack and attack. These 2 are front line batsmen. Need these gone and then roach is ok aswell. Need wkts frm both sides. Shaheen needs to be brought on frm other side

Yes same guy. Brilliant slip fielder but, his batting as opener has been ordinary toll now.
 
Thankfully Abbas is continuing. Abbas has more chances of getting a wicket than Shaheen I feel at the moment.

If we had picked Nauman, he would’ve probably bowled better. Even if he didn’t, we would’ve definitely had more runs on the board. Yasir hasn’t even played a match in 5 months. Clueless decision to pick him.

Great, our one of the best slip catchers had to be one of the worst openers...
 
I still think windies are favourites as they bat till number 9 and the current 2 are no mugs with the bat. Holder cud get a quick 20 and seal it. Thats why pak need to continue to get wkts. If they had a target of 100 more then it would be different. But with only 50 runs knock of 20 risk free runs and suddenly the game is finished. Hence why we need to get holder out in next 2 overs
 
50+ runs for the last 4 wickets is a stiff target here.
 
The pitch is assisting provided Hasan sticks to bowling good length. I hope he can fizzle out another here.

Its a pity our pace bowling attack was much worse then otherwise a combination with him as a spinner would have been lethal across the formats. Yasir was top class as well couple of years ago in tests in assistive conditions
 
This will cost us ...to lose three pathetic reviews when the umpiring has beem awful in this match
 
Pakistan has been very poor with reviews. On a wicket with high bounce such appeals wouldn't have been fruitful. Something to work on in future as well.

Yes they should have been careful but, bounce has been inconsistent with some rising and some remaining low
 
The silver lining in the last half hour or so is that we are not leaking runs. Its not a coincidence that Yasir is not bowling and we are not leaking runs.
 
Keeping it tight will bring wickets. If WI wins without freebies, then it will be a fine effort.
 
Perfect. Need to keep these two operating after tea break as well. They are not leaking runs and it results in wickets.
 
Need to keep Da Silva in check now and ideally get him just after tea

Absolutely. It was angling in and after pitching just straightened, a dream delivery for any right arm pacer against right handed batsmen.
 
Bowling maidens is the key to getting wickets these days. White ball cricket has removed every ounce of patience in batsmen. Even in Test cricket, you bowl 5 maidens on a trot, you're almost guaranteed a wicket in the 6th over.
 
Match not won. Roach and Warrican can hang around and support Joshua. The key is to stick to the same line and length that Abbas and Hasan has been bowling for last half hour after tea.
 
It'll be a gut wrenching loss if Pakistan manages to let WI win here.
 
Hasan is fast turning out to be a valuable player in Test cricket, he can slog and when in rhythm he is a beast.

Incredible stuff from Hasan. They still need to get Silva out to win and the match is in their favour to do it.

Can Pakistan do it? Thrilling session to come.
 
Hasan delivery to Holder looks like it slightly angled when it was angling in and that's what Holder played for. Only slightly did it change and that was all that was needed. Game of inches.
 
I will start again with Hassan and maybe Abbas who is yet to create an impact and might be hungry to perform (Also he took Roach in first innings). 2nd set should be Shaheen and Faheem if required.

Or if they want Shaheen to go for a fifer than that’s an option

It should be Shaheen and Hassan with the ball. Abbas has been ineffectual, and high pace T20 bowling is usually more effective in cleaning up a tail.

Hasan ali is a very good bowler , pakistan was very unlucky to not have him on tours to NZ , aus and england. He is always trying to make things happen for pakistan.
 
Why not start with Shaheen alongside Hasan? Would be dangerous with his fuller length at pace at their Tail Enders.
