Windies playing well.

They are all on the "other board" no doubt waiting for you to congratulate them!

DAMN! Sarwan gone, Windies chances maybe gone with him.

I fully expect Tupac to magically return to this thread now. :)))

yup, 2morrow will be national holiday in India :P

:)) :)) :)) They did beat Zimbos recently in Zim but that doesnt count as they are minnows. If windies are 8th are they considered minnows as well?

What do you do there (if you dont mind me asking)

work in settlements department for stock trades. I basically liase with brokers to ensure transactions are settled on time.

W.I 149/7

Samuels given lbw to kumble despite been hit outside of legstump!

disgraceful stuff!

That was a poor decision that gave Samuel out.

169-7, Ramdin timing the ball sweetly.

176 for 7

If only we had another wicket or two in hand......we may well have done it.

Kumble to Taylor, OUT, but isnt revenge so, so sweet? This is a master bowler we're talking about, he gave him a slower one to cut, and this time he sends in a quicker one, here deal with that, says Kumble, forces Taylor on the backfoot, caught plumb in front of the stumps, all go up in appeal, they know theyve got their man, and yes, says umpire Jerling. Taylor's enterprising innings come to an end, India on the verge of victory at Sabina Park...

:))) :)))

You can just imagine the kut kut vat vat that must have been going on amongst the cricinfo commentary team while Taylor was taking Kumble and co apart! :)))

214 for 8

55 runs to win!

Just ONE more wicket in hand and we would have won.

69.2 Kumble to Collins, OUT, got em, nine down! Kumble strikes, tossed up, a straight one, pitched in line, goes for a sweep of some sorts, struck in front, a big appeal and the man in the hat and shades say yep, thats out, India can breathe a big sigh of relief, fifth wicket for Kumble, who says he cant win matches for India outside the subcontinent??

:))) :))) :))) :)) :)) :))
how biased, this is disgraceful, i thought cricinfo was meant for everybody, not just indians :20:

Are u kidding me?
It was a crap tour, a crap series and a very very poor opposition. If you had beaten Zimbabwe overseas after 35 years of searching for victory would u celebrate? Obviously not because that wouldnt count. So technically my boy India didnt win anything. Whateverr they did win should be discounted but im guessing their media will shovel it down everyone's throats.
Didnt England and SA cleansweep the windies when they came down there

Cheers brozzzz, I have got nothing more to add as you have given ur props to the true pak_passioners and sour ones :19:.. Hoping for the best against SA for us and also goodluck to Pak in the current series against ENG you guys are gonna demolish them :11: ...

Buss yaar Sachin ka naam na lo - that will start another mammoth thread !

Well done India.

They played very well to be honest in this last test match.

Dravid played really well. If not for him it would have been curtains for the Indians.

After the first 3 tests, it was something else to see the bowlers having the final say, but that pitch was a doozy.

Can't remember the last time I watched so many balls keeping so low and almost creeping through to the keeper. Nice to see the batsman having to apply their skills and technique for a change....

Good win by India and congrats to all the Indian fans.

No

It was'nt a crap tour, India could have won the first 3 tests, agaisnt a average oppisition.

Pakistan has never won in the WI, this WI side has improved vastly when your team last came to the WI, which they could'ent pull off a series win.

Playa, the test which we lost to the WI, we were missing Inzi, Mohammad Yousaf, Shoaib, Sami.

If India were missing, Dravid, Sehwag, Sreesanth, and Munaf, they might struggle as well. :21:

England beat West Indies 3-0, South Africa won 2-0.

Missing players such as Inzi, Moyo, Sami, Akhtar, Malik does play a part and not to mention it was only a 2 test series. If it was a 3 test series it could have been different.

It is an achievement for a subcontinnent team to win at windies more than England or South Africa. They have better pace bowlers. I do not recall any subcontinent side has ever made any impact there until now for a long time. England just got walloped by Srilanka . Srilanka was defeated by India. You can argue any number of ways to put down a team. Fact is India dominated the series with a very inexperienced pace bowling line up. india did not have harmison, flintoff, pollock. But for Rain India could have very well been 2 nothing. Give credit where it is due.

Because you cannot structure your sentences properly.

Yet when England are missing their best players, saying so gets laughed off as a lame excuse...

I'm not really making excuses here in Pakistan's case. I was just pointing out to Playa that missing those players did play a part in us losing the test and maybe if there were 3 tests it could have been different.

In England's case the excuses are always the same and constant especially from Fletcher. Its no wonder why it gets laughed off as a lame excuse.

I agree.........it would have been different if Pak played 3-4 tests and those players was in the starting line up.

Pak came really close to winning in Wi in the 1980s, but again they was missin a few players, and the outcme could have been different aswell.

This is what England fans do! Ive noticed when it's an England fan it is an excuse, but when it is most others they say they are 'stating facts' - its 2 sets of standards, nothing else!

Fletcher has little to do with this particular issue, we are talking about the fans.

But the English fans bring up the same so called facts whenever the team doesn't perform. I guess thats why its branded as a lame excuse then.

oh it's double standards with some people. With the English though it's an exception because we must be made fun of and this is the easiest way to do it. Best to leave it Whippy.

yeah, perhaps if your players had slept on the street and not in a five star hotel while in Pakistan you wouldn't have received the battering that you did ;-)

Rob, where do you live in Sutton Coldfield? I have a pair of grandparents on Halton Road...

what is so funny about that ?

it's test match cricket , played over 5 days...has 4 innings , nothing wrong in him saying that, you never know india could get windies out for less then a 100(NOT)...who knows ?

come on india! ! ! ! i hope each one n every indian bowler scores a century atleast :D
how right was i, yet again. ;)

Pak should have won 3-0 actually had there been any sane umpiring. We demolished them by 10 wickets in the first Test at Georgetown, one Test Windies got there by the tiniest of margins and the last was a nailbiter drawn. Some horrendous umpiring prevented Paks from steamrolling the WI team - those were the days of home umpires. If you think Doctrove is shocking, you know nothing of the ones officiating in the '87 Series.

And which players were missing from WI team that you talk about? I can't think of any.

Maybe there are a tiny bit of double standards by some. However, when it comes to losing and making excuses the English are world champions at that and nobody comes even close. The English are so good at it that I can list you series lost from the 1990's onwards with an excuse for each: from umpiring, ball tampering, having the runs in India. i.e diorrhea etc.

just a tiny bit! I've made no secret of my view in the past that it is always a laugh to see 'when the shoe is on the other foot', for the sake of the same people that have condemned Team England's 'moaning' (this also goes for football) saying exactly the same as England fans did at the time of their own loss!

I agree there have been some lame excuses from people connected with the England side but dismissing them as the sole whingers in world sport is obviously so much fun (!) that everyone forgets that the rest of the world do it to some extent as well.
