If we somehow manage to get a lead of 250+ we can win. Need 2 of these 3 to score big.

Everyone in the team can bat, need all of them to contribute to get out of this one.

Now Benn can attack that rough outside the left-hand batsman's off stump. Goes over the wicket

That horrid display by the lower order in the first innings is going to really mess it up.

Had they put on 100 runs we'd be in the drivers seat looking to push for a win on the Final day.

Wow what a catch by Benn, some really good test match bowling putting NZ batters under pressure

121-4 deficit still 118

That may have done it.

If we ever needed the tail to wag, this is the time.

Taylor, Watling and Rutherford left, it's all on them.

Sodhi, Southee, Craig and Boult can hold a bat, but we can't leave too much to them.

New Zealand trail by 110 runs with 6 wickets remaining

That is the end of the session .....

At best you will get a 100 lead IMO won't be enough and plenty time left in test.
Just need one of the batsmen to score 100 and a few cameos. They're capable, whether it happens or not is another story.

There is a massive cotton-ball of a cloud hanging over the ground.. It's grey.. it could be threatening.. Lots of bright areas around though..

Doesn't look like they will cross the deficit at this rate.

WI to wrap this up pretty quickly with next new ball around the corner.

West Indies probably won't win by an innings but won't be chasing more than 100 so they should win this game fair and square but it will be unlucky if it rains

I hope this is the last of Rutherford, he's done nothing since debut. #BringbackRyder

Congrats to the WI on the good win :)

Should have an interesting deciding third Test.

Good comeback from Windies. I guess Rutherford seems like a one-hit wonder. Really needs to work on his application. :(

I don't how he became an opener, we might as well have Ryder open if he's going to play like that. At least he can score some runs.

leatherface58 spaceCat both Fulton and Rutherford should be dropped, who do we have to replace them in the domestic circuit? How are Redmond and Macintosh these days?

Both are old. McIntosh is a suspect against left arm bowling of any level. Redmond is a hack. I suppose we can try Guptill who is a better hack but really I don't see anyone as an opening option. Maybe we can also try an experiment like Williamson and Latham to open and Brownlie gets into the side.

Isn't Brownlie rubbish against spin? If Williamson is going to open, we could have Watling at 3 and Ryder at 6.

leatherface58 Williamson has practically been opening for us for a while now, it won't be much of a difference for him :))

:))) Yeah but no harm in making it official. Brownlie is good against pace though. Showed some spunk against Aussies and Proteas in tough conditions. Guptill seems the last man standing now though.

Yeah he does play pace well, our next series is in the UAE so I think we should go with Ryder.

Fulton, Guptil and Rutherford should be written off for the time being they're all suspect against the new ball.

Thrilled we didn't lose by an innings, keeping my mouth shut so I don't jinx anything :))

I've heard good things about Tom Latham

71 run pship, 44 run lead - last day! Could there be a sting in the tail here?

Foxtel showed the first four days live but it's showing day 5 at all :13:

Also interesting to see Craig get dropped two balls in a row. Windies need to win this.

Two tests going on foxtel aren't showing either but we can watch two lots of no name tennis players.

Wasn't Rutherford supposed to be the next big thing? absolute cack.
