West Indies v Pakistan | 2nd Test | Bridgetown, Barbados | Apr 30-May 4, 2017 | Day 4

Shabaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Shah ji... Love hai tu larkay

If the Ball goes out of shape .... why does the Fielding side complains .... does it not make more difficult for the batsman ??????? Hmmmm ..... !!!!!

An out of shape ball does not swing.

The amount of hate Yasir gets in these parts is amazing even though he has always been the one who gets Pakistan out of a spot of bother. Without Yasir we won't be winning even half the matches we do atm.

He is another leggie. Better would be to try Babar who bowls handy off-spin, but probably Misbah doesn't even know Babar can bowl.

I m pretty sure Misbah doesn't have a clue about Babar's bowling , Azhar can be handy with googly.

All down to this session I think. If Windies dont lose wickets and score another 100 runs, they could make things almost impossible for Pakistan.

For my money, give Amir and Abbas 7 overs each, attack with the field, multiple slips etc and see what happens. I'm sure they'd get a wicket or 2. Then give the ball to Shah and a short spell from Shadab then rotate the pacers from one end.

Pitch like this doesn't call for a packed slip cordon, it's a waste.

The bowlers need to try and get the batsmen driving, because that's extremely difficult on this pitch. Azhar scored a hundred, I'd be surprised if he scored 20-25 runs with drives. Batsmen are sitting on the back foot, nudging it off their hips or cutting.

Pitch it up and get guys in at short cover, short midwicket, square leg for the mistimed flick off a leg stump half-volley, that kind of thing.

Will those no balls not given will be the margin of defeat for Pakistan?

My goodness, I wouldn't like to be in the trenches with some of you.

Look, another run scored. We should just pack it in, leave the field and take the next flight home.

Pakistan is effectively playing with three bowlers ,shadab is coming in because the others are tired. A major handicap.

He's either too full or too short. Don't understand how hard it can be to bowl on a good length? Fair enough you can experiment with the line a bit but length is crucial.

His delivery release point is not high enough , if he bowls on good length it sets up nicely for the batsman.

Picking him in a 4 man atack was crimnal especially when you had a leg spinner already.

I appreciate its a tricky surface to bat on but against this windies attack i think this talk of 150 being very tough to chase is pessimistic to say the least.

This windies attack does have potential going forward but theyre pretty raw and got a lot of improving to do going forward.

Anything under 200 i expect us to chase fairly comfortably. Not easily but in the end fairly comfortably.

Come on pakistan

I can understand everything that is being said by the Pakistani players. There really seems to be no difference between Hindi and Urdu as colloquially spoken.

Leg-spin is bloody hard.

jabardast

Absolutely ridiculous field for Shadab!! By having every single person back on the leg side, you have killed shadab's googly! Give the guy some confidence . . ridiculous!!

Awful selection. Why play a leg spinner when you have the best already.

Might cost us history.

Lack of a 5th bowler hurting Pakistan at the moment.

Also too many lose deliveries.

WI may actually bat out the day. Never thought that would be possible when play began this morning.

but it does reverse and Abbas was reversing it nicely. Poor decision probably inflicted by Amir.

I don't think it reverses either. For all kinds of swing (including reverse) a layer of air must stick to the rotating ball to generate the pressure differential. If the rotating ball is not round, a layer of air will not stick to it. What helps swing is having the layer of air stick more to one side than the other (if one side is rougher that may cause this to happen). But a not round ball is not going to have any layer stick on any side.

It may , as long as its spherish. One side needs to be smoother than the other though.

No one said pack the slip cordon, I said multiple slips and plenty of balls are pushed wide past the right hander by the left handed Amir. The batsman have stretch at those deliveries, if one knicks and goes past first slip, what then? Have 2 slips, a gulle yfor that wider ricochet and yes, closer fielders in for the ball that rips off the pitch.

Alas, the field setting have been atrocious.

West indies should bat till lunch tomorrow , pakistan might be able to churn out a draw somehow.

well Waqar did say the replaced ball would have reversed more and they should not have gone for a change..

I have a feeling WI would attack as soon as they cross 200. anything above 200 will be extra runs on this pitch.

Disappointing day

Shadab is NOT PREPARED

one of the main mode of dismissal for yasir shah is lbw and this line has killed that mode.

8 overs to the new ball.. hope it brings plenty of wickets.

I've stopped watching, is he still bowling THAT line? I just do not understand this. He was just as negative against the Aussies, said it was his fault which means he understands why the line is wrong and yet...he is bowling like it again. Can't Misbah have a word? Or another so called senior?

So everyone was raving about Shadab's ability to spin the ball much much more than Yasir . . How is it that on a 4th day pitch, Yasir is spinning the ball so much more than Shadab?
