What's new

West Indies v Pakistan | 3rd Test | Roseau, Dominica | May 10-14, 2017 | Day 2

ooo Misbah what the ,,, 1 on 39 balls. no buddy can justify this

I can definitely think that the school kids in the crowd thinking they are being punished and making a resolve to never go to a Test match again

Bad advertisement for test cricket

Goodness Gracious Me! This is tuk-tuk festival at a whole new level, nearly two hours since the play has started and they've only scored 23 runs so far, the is beyond embarrassing, if the bowling was decent or the pitch played a few tricks, then the circumspection would've been understandable but nothing so far to suggest either of that, its the same old safety first ultra-defensive approach with tuk-tuk blockatorn that Misbah's team is notorious for, eating up deliveries unnecessarily and digging a ditch for themselves to fall in sooner or later with nothing on board and an utter wastage of time. They should've shown some urgency first thing in the morning and press on the accelerator to put some quick runs on scoreboard before the rain arrives keeping in mind we won't get 5 full days of Test cricket due to bad weather and it'll require ample amount of time to take 20 wickets.

No wonder test match cricket is dying. Who wants to watch a guy score 1 run in 40 balls?

So Azhar is practically having the same SR that Misbah used to have by playing the same way and somehow Azhar is a legend and Misbah is not. Logic!!! :salute

Yep I cant get the hype Azhar is getting after this innings.
He has been a solid opener but this innings he is at best ok till now.

110 off 290 balls. Unless WI play pathetically this is a draw innings.

Is Misbah the highest run-scorer in Test cricket over the past year?

Has he made a triple-hundred and double-hundred (in Australia) recently?

:salute

azhar is not batting with strike rate of 2....

Feel bad for the kids forcibly brought in

1 run of 43 balls.

Will he get a second run before 50 balls?

:salute

azhar is not batting with strike rate of 2....

I am sorry but dont rate Azhar's batting till now in this match.
We will score 400 by today end if we go like this.
It will be difficult getting 20 WI wickets in ~150 overs.
It will be a victory for WI and a big chance missed for us.

Azhar's innings wouldn't be a problem if we had some stroke makers in the order. The issue is the snails that bat around him who can't make use of his good work of blunting the new ball.

I cant figure out if youre being sarcastic or not but in case you're not, then that's extremely stupid.

Azhar is clearly having a purple patch in his career and long may it continue. There were years when Misbah was our highest scorer in ODI's and Tests. This year it's been Azhar and all credit to him. But people need to have the same measuring yardstick. You can't give Misbah torture over a 38 SR while praising Azhar who has a similar SR.

Misbah averages 29 overseas

sorry i mean ~200 overs as I saw that there are high chances of rain.

doesnt mean that u are right..azhar is the backbone of this team..

I wonder if we can score 300 by the end of the day playing like this

moot point because the grief PakPassion posters give to Misbah is of his Strike Rate, not his average. I wouldn't be surprised if Azhar's SR is actually less than Misbah in Tests this past year.

bhai I am not denying he is the best test batsman now but his innings in this match isnt helping us much either.
WI has to play pathetically otherwise its a draw. I expected us to go for win.

Fitting farewell for Misbah, having one last hurrah before leaving Test cricket for good, this is why no one should mourn his loss (its not a loss tbh but rather getting rid of an absolute liability). Can't believe we gave him another series to torture us to death instead of sacking him immediately after his lackluster performance in Australia which resulted in a humiliating whitewash. PCB, being a collective representation of our spineless cricketers, will never take a bold decision in nation's interests.

but he makes it up with batting on most defficult number with more than 67..what does misbah have..?

Maybe Misbah just wants to make Azhar's 38.48 S/R look phenomenally good :)

No wonder many Pakistanis are celebrating Misbah's retirement. Horrible batting.

Misbah is trolling I feel

He just wants to give the haters one more reason to celebrate before he retires, too many PPers will have lost their raison d'etre once he is gone.

What a selfless gesture :salute

An epitome of MISBAH mindset is in display. When the captain plays to avoid the risk of losing the match from day 2, no wonder he get criticised. Good that this is his final knock.

1 in 49... Misbah just one more tuk pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

:salute

Misbah does it 1 run of 50 balls.

Misbah you absolute legend.

Special shoutout to his biggest cheerleader Big Mac

:salute

Ok this has gone a bit too far. Is he trying to break the record for the slowest hundred?

Misbah is waiting for the new ball effect to wear off, then he will be smashing Bishoo.

Is this the lowest strike ever for someone who has played at least 50 balls? Possibly if we go back far enough someone may have had a zero in the first 50.

I have no problems with people lambasting Misbah here because it has truly been a pathetic innings so far. But who's stopping Azhar to score runs? His approach today has been equally pathetic.

Exactly why there needs to be a limit on overs in the 1st innings. Cutoff should be 130-140 overs so if you want to score 500, you are forced to score at 3.5+.

Selfish and mediocre batting. WI should keep on bowling fast bowlers to expose the legend that Misbah is.

His selfishness was exposed after the Mohali match but yet, he commanded great support from fans in the limited over format years after the blunder. A seriously limited player. In ODIs, he was as absolute garbage.

Misbah calling for a new bat like Uncle Phil calling for Lucille.

Misbah 1 (51)
This must be some sort of record in Test cricket, have never seen anything like this ever since I started watching Test cricket.

The noballs are scoring at a faster rate than Misbah :)))

I have to credit Misbah here that he doesn't give a damn what people think about him.
