The games is drifting towards a draw like first Test ......... but something might happen :)

Now WI on top. Looks like another cracker is on the cards.

The pitch is very good surface ..... hopefully we will get to see some turn from day 3 so that bowlers come into play.

End of Day II

West Indies trail by 146 runs with 8 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

Would it hurt to make the pitch spin friendly? This kind of pitches will even make bowlers like murali have a bradmanisque average. Absolutely no assistance for the spinners. If we are to win test matches we need conditions that suit us, not such flat tracks

Samuels gets a ton. West Indies will look to get a healthy first innings lead.

this is the best WI team in the last 10-12 years or so. Very good batting line-up and though nothing great about bowling but still a decent bowling lineup. And Bdesh, well how do you compare teams of the last 10 years when all of them have consistently lost matches. Bdesh is test cricket shame.

on flat tracks your team manages to be 193/8, imagine what would narine do to those guys on a turning track.

the match is getting out of hand, now I blame the batsman to not able to get run under the belt. On this kind of pitch 500 was a respectable score.

WI have been batting for almost 4 innings and lost only 2 wickets. I want our batsman to at least bat for long time. There is no excuse for not being able to bat for long time.

WI batted well, started slowly and later got aggressive unlike BD who are aggressive from the beginning.

The way we bat in the test, match, if we batted like that in ODI matches we should be winning 70% OF ODI matches. But BD players are always clueless about the format. They start playing tuk tuk in ODIs.

Samuels said before the series he wants to score three hundreds in this series.
He already as 2 (200)! Congratulations to one my favorite cricketer!

Shakib Al Hasan- What happened to him? He always brought alongside him a lot of energy into the cricket field with batting, bowling or fielding. But now his batting and bowling both looks negative, and in the field he is no longer the livewire he used to be.

I know he is not doing well but this kind of pathetic attitude is not for a player of his calibre, really needs to step up and start playing properly.

You know you're in trouble when Chanderpaul comes in at 3-363

Put as much spin you want, Bdesh lacks quality and talent of an international side and they are playing international cricket largely bcoz of BCCI's largess. BCCI wanted a cheap vote, and they got Bdesh test status.

its not about the talent, its about the mindset of the players. Our players seem as if they are made to cross the Sahara desert, when they have some success, esp. the batsman, they behave as if they have conquered the world and they need not to do anything more and their place in the side is settled for the next 10 years. Our captain on the other hand has been rubbish and his low IQ would make you feel that afridi was a very smart person.

Agree that BCCI had a role in getting BD into the test arena and that BD has not fully cashed on the oppurtunities it received. I have nothing to defend here but sometimes you just cannot figure out why the team turns out like a bunch of idiots every other day.

I think we are missing a character like Arjuna ranatunga and Imran Khan. These two captains would motivate their teammates to do well even at situations where it would seem that Winning is not possible. We need someone like that, whoever he is, he is nowhere around or probably isnt born

Abul Hasan becomes 2nd player to score and concede 100 runs in a debut Match. 1st player to concede and score 100 in debut innings

MMW this guy will be a bradman with both ball and bat. Something orange hurlers like steyn ca only dream off

he was very disappointed with the team after t20 wc where his effort was wasted...may be he is still carrying some disappointment,,,,,

agree that this guy has given a lot but has got very few in return. But this is a test of shakib's patience and character. A true sportsman must never give up and will continue to work hard no matter the circumstances. One must look at the legend named Chanderpaul, he has 88 50+ scores in test cricket goes to show what a hard working player he is!

BD needs shakib more than shakib needs bangladesh. If he can play the way he did in Asia Cup, we would have been in the front foot in this test series. But i know that he is sakib and he will do something sooner or later. Once I said: "shakib will never be a great t20 player", not 6 months later he scored a magnificent innings against pakistan in the t20 WC

Lol Bangladeshis staring at an innings defeat. :jf Hope they can achieve a test victory against a good team in our lifetimes.

Batting records being broken here too eh.

Trail by 148 runs, with 5 wickets in hand, playing in their home turf, such a disgrace to cricket. These cricketers are a shameless bunch. Even by losing matches and making it a norm these idiots are earning a lot. Disgraceful

Its a matter of time before BD fold away here. They have been very inconsistent at International level so far.

it seems ashrafull_rox words have fired them up......i am going to do same to our bowlers

wow nice to see shakib finally doing well, 4 wickets and closing up on a century. Felt that he was average in the test match but ended up gettng 6 wickets and more than 200 runs in the series.

what a waste shakib  needed just 3 runs to score a century and slogs...gets out

he has gotten out on such scores: 97, 96, 96 and once was not out n 96*

He couldve had 5-6 centuries right now, what a waste of a wicket

That shot from Shakib just shows why Bangladesh don't save or win test matches, that was not a shot for the team, that was a shot for himself, he wanted to get to that hundred today. How does it matter if you are playing for your team and trying so hard to save the game wheather you end the day on 97* or 101*???

Pathetic from Shakib, esp considering the fact that these two could have come back and frustrated WI tomorrow, Mahmudullah is still to ome and remember the deficit is only 35 now so all the runs BAN score, WI will need time to score those as well, some how to get to that personal milestone Shakib has thrown it all away!!!:facepalm::facepalm:

Abul Hasan will have to do something special this innings as well by the looks of it. WI well on top.

there didnt seem like a good chance of saving the test match when we were 4/5 wickets down but nasir and shakib changed the scenarios. At the end of the day it looked that BD were in a good position to draw the match with nasir and shakib looking good and the batsman coming in next where no mugs with the bat and easily could have saved the match.

shakib has none but himself to blame.

Don't really understand the mindset of the Bangladeshi batsmen. They get themselves out.

Team selection is terrible too,for example selecting Nazmuddin.

This guy is seriously bad at batting, don't understand how on earth is he an opener.
Abul Hasan can bat better than him.

Tamim tries to do too many things. He can do good if he plays a bit carefully and also if he makes the bowlers work hard to take his wicket.

Shakib has played well but couldn't control himself in the end and got out for 97. He must be swearing at himself for doing that.

If a lower order batsman can get a hundred then why can't the top order try to get a hundred and make some runs?

Why can't the BD batsmen learn batting from their opposition, for example how the opposition batsmen play so patiently?
