They are well on the way to becoming an ATG pair. Run so aggressively too.
Kohli will go down as a great. Rahane has runs overseas just needs to improve in India. And it's a shame he's struggled in LO formats.
India are so lucky straight after Sachin and Dravid retired they found players like this.
Yeah they just picked them off the street.

They groomed them properly.
What I meant was that they just came straight after them. Obviously credit goes to India for the hardwork and the good system they have come up in.
Look Australia, they haven't replaced Magrath and Warne after how many years. South Africa haven't replaced Kallis and Greame Smith. So sometimes you need a bit of luck.
Australia have Starc, Hazlewood, Pattinson.
Kallis and Graeme retired recently.

Need lead of at least 300.
Why? How much do you think WI would score in the next innings?
Its not luck. All of those batsman has mentioned how Sachin, Dravid etc groomed them in international cricket and made them ready for the big scene. People give them a lot of flak saying they retired late. However the youngsters swear that playing with them on the other side giving them tips and confidence eased them into international cricket and made them ready to face the big stage. This is something Lara and Sangakara failed to do by retiring on "top" instead of staying on to groom youngsters which caused an immediate decline in batting quality in their team
There is a reason we replaced batsmen but our bowlers lose their way even after promising starts because of lack of role models and mentors. There is a reason Pakistan was producing amazing bowlers when Imran, etc where in the team to groom them. Today Amir looks lost without a role model and we all know how Asif, Akhtar lost their way.
So no, its not all about luck. The young batsmen really respected the older ones, they learnt a lot from them both on and off the field and used that experience to transition from domestic to international, something our bowlers have failed to do
