Not necessarily. I equally enjoyed Seema Biswas in "Bandit Queen".

I have no idea what that is but wasn't talking about you specifically, just a general observation on female action heroes being outrageously good looking a la Tomb Raider, Aeon Flux, Kill Bill, Lucy, Jean Grey and Storm in Xmen etc etc

A very good and unpredictable thriller about an ordinary man who shoots an intruder in his house and has the intruder's father come looking for revenge. Of course this is what you think the plot is until it changes significantly. Michael C. Hall drops the predatory aspect of his Dexter persona and dons a more normal, human persona which works well. Sam Shepard is fantastic as the hotheaded father who comes looking for revenge but gets more than he bargained for. The scene stealer would be Don Johnson who is hilarious as the private detective. The film is surprisingly humorous though it's not a comedy. One of the better films of the year.

8/10

Deliver Us From Evil. Expected big things from this. What I got was a watered down blockbuster horror with not enough exploration of horror themes and an over emphasis on crime fighting and police work.

Didn't touch the heights of Sinister.

That said the final scene in the interrogation room was a positive.

Kick

Pure time pass and should only be watched once otherwise you deserve to be "Kick"ed in the back.

The Uninvited (2009) - 7/10

Anna Rydell returns home to her sister (and best friend) Alex after a stint in a mental hospital, though her recovery is jeopardized thanks to her cruel stepmother, aloof father, and the presence of a ghost in their home.

A psychological thriller worth seeing..Great twist in the ending..It's actually an American remake of the Korean film "A Tale of Two Sisters".....didn't see the original film but this movie could stand its own..

Out of the furnace. Could have been so much better. Acting was top notch by Bale, infact by everybody. 6.5/10

Got hoodwinked by yet another review from you. First half was similar to Blue Ruin. The second half went totally weird, about snuff movies. I don't call it a thriller when there is only anticipation, but no action. Real waste of time.

Lol maybe you will like Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4. I gave it a 1. :))

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes

This is The Terminator 2 of sequels- bigger, better, riveting story & action, top notch performances. What WETA have achieved here is outstanding. Not just a great apes movie, a great sci-fi movie that will be remembered.

10/10

'Chasme Baddoor' (2013)

Not any great story or script but it was still enjoyable for me as long as it contained quite a few funny scenes.

The star of the film was the poet friend of the hero and his poetry was hilarious right from the start to the end:)).

Yes great movie. Watched it this evening. I guess they left the ending bit confusing may be because they will make the sequel?

main hoon shahid afridi. so many good films at cinema now including planet of apes and guardians of galaxy they all look so good

9/10 Fantastic

Yeah I agree. Could've easily been a perfect film had the story been a bit better but both Samuel and Kevin performance was beyond exceptional. You can easily realise the great chemistry between the 2 negotiators in this film :)

Underrated no doubt.

Just watched "The Human centipede" (friend recommended it and i fell for it)

0.1/10

Aww!! The trailer was sufficient enough for me to puke... There was one scene in the trailer where they are all stiched together. It took me months to get that image out of my head!!! How did the director come up with this rubbish!

Try Human Centipede Part 2. Will need a brain bleacher :yk

Lol. You mean the movie the director himself couldn't re watch in colour so he decided to make it a B&W feature?

Tried it as a challenge.

Life has never been the same.

Divergent - A story about society being divided into different factions - Warriors, Smart ones, farmers, faction-less etc etc. Movie revolves around a girl who faces a bit of identity crisis. This is something most Indians would relate to. Decent movie. 7/10

Enemy - Watched this with a lot of fast-forwards.. couldn't get the slightest of idea about this movie. Checked the reviews for this, and they suggest attention to details. Gonna give it another go. Wouldn't give up unless I get it. :20:

Meh.. what are movies when you can get the same on liveleak. There is something in humans that they want to see things that disgusts them.

Locke

It was tagged under "thriller", so I downloaded it. Found that the actor had a british accent. First turn off. I can stand the british accent only in harry potter movies. After 15 minutes, I got a clue that not much is going to happen in this movie. So dragged the seeker over the entire length, and found the movie is set in a car. No other scenes. Not even flashbacks (in case I did not miss it). Promptly deleted the video. Watch it only if you can enjoy a movie in which one man is talking to various people on the phone, while driving a car at night. For the entire length of the movie.

Maybe you should of had more patience and let things unfold. A film like this means all events help build up with suspense slowly.

Maybe if it was from a renowned director, I could have mustered some patience. Hitchcock was a master of keeping you interested in single set movies.

Maybe I did not want it watch it because of the British accent..my dislike is due to the bad experience I have had with British call centers.

You shouldn't let a British call centre come in the way of you enjoying a movie :))) It just sounds ridiculous

I remember watching human centipede :(

Having read the comments above, I think I might watch this to test my nerves. Gonna be a tough one, since I am yet to finish 127 hours even after numerous attempts. Always turn it off whenever the amputation scene is about to start :(

just to warn you ,It has a mouth to a** scene in it

Human Centipede is nothing against that french movie with Monica Bellucci.

Edit: Irreversible. I dare anyone to watch it in full without closing your eyes or putting hands on ears.

I am bored recommend a movie like Day After Tomorrow or where plane crash incident happened.

I have watched all such kind of movies though.

Why on earth will anyone close their eyes, or put their hands on ears in a Monica Bellucci movie?

But it is only paid actors faking actions. It is not like some video on liveleak where actual things happen.
Maybe it's you then but rape really bothers me. I don't hate many things in life but I despise rapists and I despise folks who blame the victim even more.

That's a good thing. But then you can enjoy slasher movies and all sorts of gore. Don't you despise murderers too?

I do. But in movies, particularly horror, the victims are such jerks and so underdeveloped that you can't help but back the killer. However in real life, there are always accidental murders and killers who have truly tragic lives which still doesn't justify their bloodlust. There is never an accidental rape. It's just that sickening a crime.

So you would back the killer if the victim is a dumb blonde, like the singing telegram, but would be disgusted was she raped?

Well when she is being brutally raped for 8 minutes while her character is pregnant, one tends to feel a wee bit awkward.

I agree. Haven't seen Human Centipede 1 or 2 and don't plan to but did watch "Irreversible". The most horrifying and mentally traumatizing 10 mins (seemed much longer than that) on a movie screen ever. Afterwards I wonder why the director had to show the whole rape why didn't he just cut after a few mins but I guess the intent was to horrify viewers and show what rape actually looks like. And on top of it to see this happening in a public space and not in someone's house, a few people pass by and not intervene when the victim herself got into trouble for trying to help another woman, it just makes one lose faith in humanity and the randomness of the act makes it even more difficult to explain.

Depends on the way the director tells his story. It isn't always that way. But slashers like Jason are the ones you back if not like as the movie shows him as a sort of an anti-hero. Freddy Krueger though has been always a despicable scumbag for me as he is a child molester which most of his fans tend to forget or conveniently ignore.

CricketCartoon knew what's horrific about the movie before posting in this thread. He just asked the question to trap someone. Should have been a lawyer.

Is he though? Or was he wrongfully blamed by his community and mob mentality ended up killing him? If he actually was a child molester it wouldn't make sense that he takes revenge. The revenge angle only makes sense if he was wrongfully accused of it and killed for it.

Well in the original continuity, he was shown in his human form licking a 10 year old girl's photograph in a disgusting way. Wes Craven the original director downplayed the pedophile section of Freddy's crimes as during the movie's release, there was a pedophile case going on and folks would have accused him of cashing in on it. But there was never any doubt that he was the most monstrous of all the slasher villains.

Michael was pure evil too but Freddy actually enjoyed it. Jason was just nuts. Leatherface was the least malicious of all and consequently the most realistic.

guardians of the galaxy- good film want to watch dawn of the planet of the apes next.

Side Doesn't Exist In The Center(Title isn't supposed to make sense). Tamil Film :murali

Small budget film, based on a true story. A guy plays cricket with his friends a day before his wedding to get away from all the wedding stress. Tries to catch a ball, hits his back of the head. He basically forgets everything that has happened in the last year(including his fiance that he is about to get married the next day) and he keeps repeating "What happened ?" every 1hr or so. Rest is mystery :murali. Good funny film

The Machinist - 9/10

An industrial worker who hasn't slept in a year begins to doubt his own sanity.

lol I was about to give up because all the weired events weren't making sense but in the last 30 minutes everything was making sense..great build up to a very good ending. You've to be patient not a typical popcorn thriller but a very good movie.

Dead snow: Red vs Dead

8/10

Demented horror comedy from Norway featuring Nazi zombies. Insanely gory but with a lot of humour and great action. This is a bucketful of joy!

Heard See No Evil 2 is coming out later this year which is weird considering Kane died in the first 1 didn't he???

Very much so. It's politically incorrect, EXTREMELY violent and hilarious. It's everything the overrated Hatchet series should have been and then some.

The horror comedy genre is pretty interesting as in two opposing genres came together to make a distinct genre. Not sure how and why it got started or why it became so popular. When did watching blood spraying out of a chopped arm become funny from gory. I cannot even attempt to guess the psyche of people who enjoy such movies or find them amusing enough to watch. Maybe I don't get it since I'm not a horror movie fan in the first place. I guess it might be explained as an extreme form of Tom & Jerry cartoon or the three stooges shtick. i.e. physical humor taken to the extreme.

Yes you have to be a little nuts to like the genre. But horror comedy is not really that different from dark comedy which many folks enjoy. Plus, it doesn't take much to transform a horror scene into a funny scene. Watching a finger nail pulled off makes me sick. Watching a whole hand come off with a jet of blood is so over-the-top it's ridiculous.

It's worth noting that Evil Dead II is an open homage to The three stooges albeit a violent, not for kids homage. I mean how can you not laugh at a guy being flipped off by his possessed, chopped off hand lol? And did I mention the man trying to cover the hand with a bucket and on top of the bucket is a book titled 'A farewell to arms'?

Is Ocean 11 and 12 worth watching?

Any good haunted films? ones that aren't too gory - not that I'm scared or anything :)

Is Zombie Island any good?

Worst films I have ever seen recently:-

Striking Distance
Batman and Robin
Universal Soldier: Return
On Deadly Ground
Sharknado 2 (released this week on sci-fi channel)

Watched a couple movies this weekend...

Non Stop...quite good to start off with...Neeson was good...but the 2nd half was terribly weak...very average movie frankly...

Loft...A belgian thriller and an excellent one...one of the best thrillers I've seen in a long while...certainly recommended...

Lol, haven't seen Evil Dead II but that sounds like a skit from Monty Python.

I'm not into horror comedies but have a pretty morbid sense of humor otherwise and often get into trouble for finding humor into the most serious stuff, usually directed at myself.
