More an actioner but Leon was a class film of the 90's. Another one that slips under the radar somewhat is True Romance.

The Fault in Our Stars- great movie, would definitely recommend everyone to give it a watch (also have a box of tissues ready if you're really emotional, the wife definitely needed them). Will give the movie 9/10.

Anyone recommend any great/amazing thrillers? Preferably from 1990 onwards.

Scream (Horror/Thriller)
Crimson Tide (Action/Thriller)
Pulp Fiction (Crime/Comedy/Thriller)
Fight Club (Crime/Thriller)
Leon (Action/Thriller)
Lost Highway (Horror/Thriller/Mindbleep)

The Fault in our Stars was something to watch on weekends!

Definitely my type (an emotional fool that I am), at least the storyline suggests so. I am watching this, and not even Raheel Sharif can stop me. Luckily, it contains no nudity either if the IMDB report is anything to go by.

Wait for my "10 out of 10" review!

I am yet to fulfill my promise to saadibaba of watching 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' (2014) though. Given how strict I am to my words, this is a shame! I will do that soon, too.

My girlfriend made me watch this. Donal Cozzie is still waiting for a review. I can't quite write what I want to say. :danish

DHONI183 - If you are an emotional person then you really need to see Korean melodrama A Moment to Remember.

Movie was extremely touching and really well directed. Now coming to your comment about it containing "no nudity" well sir, that depends what do you consider to be nudity? There is one scene in the movie where I would consider it being nudity.

Really good reboot and sort of a sequel to the 1954 Japanese movie. The Godzilla was really cool and the fights with MUTOs were great and thankfully not overdone. Bryan Cranston gave the best performance and was sadly underused. Don't know why this one's getting so much hate cause the atomic breath scene was top class and there was genuine suspense. In many ways, this was an old fashioned disaster movie.

8/10

The final death scene and the jump scene from the plane was just cinematic perfection.

Watched The Possession of Michael King.
leatherface58 and other horror fans - this is a must watch.

This is the best possession film I've seen since The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

It documents the stages of Michael Kings possession so well. Very well progressed, and very little plot holes for a horror film.

The guy who plays Michael King nails it. Overall a very solid horror film to watch with the boys. 7.5/10

"Emotional fool" is the term actually, but I can understand your stance to be polite. I was once at a theatre watching an extremely sad film, and used the dupatta of the girl seated next to me to wipe my tears and my nose. She didn´t notice much in the dark, luckily.

Anyway, thanks. Name noted, added to my list.

Hmmm,.... but, one scene will do.

Thanks for addressing me as "sir". Felt special.

Don't be too hard on yourself, you are probably just a sensitive and a caring person which is a blessed characteristic to possess - I tip my hat off to people like you. By the way, did she not notice her dupatta was wet :inti

I wasn't too keen on Godzilla - felt it was a tedious and dull. A shame really, I was really looking forward to it but I just could not get into it and I think they might as well have named it something else he was that scarcely in it.

Along came a spider - Thriller film and the plot caught me by surprise. Surprised it got negative reviews because it looked pretty decent to me.

the exorcism of emily rose was not scary at all.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. Very encouraging words indeed.

She was as well too lost in the film to have noticed during it, but afterwards I heard her inquiring who sat next to her. I left immediately.

'Dawn of the Planet of Apes' (2014)

Wow, a stunningly brilliant film! Watched at theatre today some two and a half hours ago. The most heart-touching aspect for me was the way the emotions were captured.

saadibaba Thank you for your review which convinced me into watching this film.

Anchorman 2.

One of the funniest films I've seen for years. Absolutely hilarious - 9/10

Spiderman 2.

Absolute garbage. Fell asleep during it - 3/10

BD(Bloody-Disgusting not Bullet Drive) gave it a good review. The reviewer mentioned how it was unique to see a man going through the torment of possession on screen though we had seen it in Exorcist I and III.

True. The man element was a welcome breath of fresh air since Exorcism 3 - but it was the way this was documented and progressed which truly made it stand out

Caeser deserves an Oscar.

Got negative reviews because the book it was based on was far superior.

Y

I enjoyed it and I'm sure the majority did too.

Enjoyed it. Thought it was very well executed. Don't need a multi layered plot for a film to be interesting. It was a decent plot regardless, but visually was amazing. Might have become a classic if the ending was to my liking though.

You're welcome. I would go so far as to say that this is the best movie I've seen this year after Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Guardians of the Galaxy

My friends decided at the last minute to see this so I tagged along. I've seen some of these major Marvel films e.g.Avengers,Iron Man and Superman. I'm not the biggest fan of these films and this one did little to change my opinion.

Great visuals and special effects and an interesting enough world, but I was disappointed that the actual planets and cultures werent explored a little more. Also, why did Starlord never return to Earth even once when he was grown up?? Maybe this was explained but I just missed it. Found it odd.

Back to the point, the characters themselves were very good, with the Raccoon and Groot stealing the show and being very enjoyable to watch, but the film's plot lets it down. After the first 20 minutes you can see the ending from a mile away, there are zero twists or unexpected turns, everything plays out as you expect. As a result of this the action sequences, while being well done, feel completely hollow. What use are explosions if you know they pose absolutely no threat to any major characters?? As a result I felt that I was just watching a procession towards the ending, and not an actual story.

The soundtrack and the way they incorporate 80s music into the films is fantastic and definitely one of the highlights for me. Definitely a good film, but in no way is it anything above good. Maybe these films just arent for me, although I thoroughly enjoyed Iron Man 1 and others.

7/10

Her dying would've made the ending far more felt to the viewer.

A deranged horror movie from the mind of Lucio Fulci. If it's a Fulci movie, three things are guaranteed- some truly creepy set pieces, absolute lack of attention to a story or plot structure and GORE. This movie has some of the most disgusting scenes I have ever seen which includes a man's head getting up close and personal with a drill. Fulci likes to nauseate his audience much like Stephanie Meyer.

That said, there is some really good suspense here. The use of lighting, fog and unnerving music (by Fabio Frizzi) makes for truly compelling viewing. It's not so much a zombie film as much as an apocalyptic film in the vein of HP Lovecraft. The film is quite slow, has ridiculous plot holes despite not having much of a plot and the gore admittedly gets truly sickening after a point but as a horror film, this movie does an admirable job.

7/10

The irony of the planet/home she so desperately wants to return to killing her (through the key element being water) would have made it a classic imo.

What was the last film you watched? -'Dawn of the Planet of Apes' (2014)

Caeser deserves an Oscar.

Yeah, it does. It was a bit like me. Erm, I don´t mean to say that I am ape, rather just that I would make for a good leader. Trust me.

The Dinosaur Project

Found footage movie featuring Dinos. You can guess the plot. Good pass time I guess. 5/10

X men movie storyline especially with Days of Future Past has just messed up my mind. Heard that film just cancels out the third one???

Recent film I saw was Mission Impossible.

I recently watched Guardians of The Galaxy - I give it 9.6/10

One of the best Marvel films I've seen! Story ties in well with the other movies, and more surfaces about Thanos, who seems to be the mega villian of these movies. Marvel are slowly building up to him. Movie was enjoyable with lots of humour. 80s soundtrack was definately a highlight! Great visuals and effects. A real enjoyable experience!

What made you think that?
Well I thought the cinematography was of a high standard and the plot refreshingly original. However, I thought it was rather tedious and the story made little sense. it was supposed to be about the classes but there was hardly any story about the classes.

It should have been so much better, I was hyped up for this having heard about it a year before its release date. Maybe that didn't help but honestly I felt bored and struggled to finish it although I did.

The story wasn't about class though. Not entirely at least. Of course there is interpretation and everyone is entiteled to it, but I took the class story as a side story. It was about capitalism.

The last 5-10 minutes, with the exceptional monologue, and the kid as the piece of the train and the other one simply following commands explains it to me.

If you take it too literally then I see how one would be disappointed, but the devil is in the details.

To each their own though. I honestly couldn't stop watching and the dialogue to me was masterful.

Binding the value of nature and hiding it within class and trying to create a man made world trying to be self sustaining when it is impossible was a cool allegory for capitalism.

Obviously it isn't plausable, but it's a sci fi film so obviously that's what is expected, but the intricacies of how it was put together was fantastic, IMO of course.

3/10

A dull slasher which begins promisingly and ends well but middle 1 hour drags and is dull as hell. It doesn't help that despite watching it on a BRRip, the movie had near pitch black darkness in some scenes making it impossible to figure out what was happening. It's a disadvantage that the killer is possibly one of the most pitiable characters ever conceived. You actually feel sad for the poor sod than our leads among whom there is a guy whom you actually wish painful death upon.

Singham Returns..
Comedy 9/10
but too preachy and revolutionary

overall good family entertainer 7/10

The bag man 3/10
Absolute shocker lopsided script and disjointed scenes along with a disturbing lady constantly diverting your attention

Raja Natwarlal 6/10

AN average movie a story of a fraudia :91: Emran Hashmi the epitome of mediocrity same old style n rhetorics whereas Hummaima had a sh!t of a role

The Expendables 3 was amazing...loved the inclusion of antonio and ronda

Edge of Tomorrow (2014)
Best tom cruise film after mi4 :13:
