So there are 'watchable' copies of Legend, Spectre, Creed, The Hateful Eight and The Revenant online.

Just watched Bridge Of Spies and The Revenant. Wow, both are fantastic films.

BOS is a really enjoyable storytelling 8/10.

Revenant is a great movie. In fact I think I witnessed the best bear scene in movie history. No spoilers ;) 8/10.

Spectre just got released a few hours ago.... Good copy but cropped a little from top and bottom to avoid identifying the culprit who leaked the film.

All are good copy DVDScrs so no need to moan with the quality tbh.

How did you watch it? it's not released in the UK or Ireland yet and maybe there are a few online.....out there but the quality must be really bad.

I been looking forward to that movie more then any other for a long time, am not surprised you gave it a positive review

Shhh. Google it :)

The thought is tempting, but my eyes can no longer forgive me for treating them to anything less than 1080p. I will - unfortunately - have to wait till the blurays come out.:(

:))) does Donal Cozzie even realise why the quality was so good hahahaha

Yeah...Revenant also "released" too, and I'm not talking about at the Cinema :)

Spectre got released in the Morning and is a good quality release by CM8.

Watch Revenant just for the Bear scene...:O

Is DVDSCR AC3 xVid the format which is the one of decent quality bro

The best and new quality ones are x265 but may not work on older televisions. The best quality ones atm are the x264 ones but if not then search for CM8 releases as they have good quality DVDScrs.

AC3 is for the audio....XVID is the video format. DVDscr normally come in XVID formats for a lower file size but decent enough picture quality, but many are trying other formats to get a better quality but at higher file size.

I would've given you a private site but you'd have to register with them and that's a long thing :))

thanks mate, there's a CM8 out there other then the standard DVDScr for Hateful eight

Private sites are useless anyways, they have the same files as everywhere else but you have to seed them forever as everyone else is seeding too so you can only upload a few kbps even if you have good internet. Sure, it's slightly faster on download and maybe safer but still a lot of hastle. For example on torrent leech, even movies like need to be seeded for weeks to get a good ratio.

You do realise there's a thing called "Ratio Master"....right?

You don't seed but make the site think you are :)

Private sites weed out the poor uploads and have quicker servers to process downloads. Public sites like PB and KA are getting there though.

Ratio master will get you banned on most private trackers.

Not saying private sites are entirely useless. The request system can get you rare files found nowhere else too, and you will rarely find unseeded files. But I usually just go with PB although I have accounts on TL and What.cd. Not because I don't want to upload but on PB there are more people downloading so a 1.00 ratio is easier to reach.

It'll get you banned if you use it ridiculously. I've been using it for 3 years now :P

What trackers? Maybe it depends on the website. I guess it can be easily cross-checked that you have uploaded something nobody downloaded but, at the same time, they can't check that for everybody, only people with outrageous uploads.

As the film is pretty long... 2hrs47mins or so CM8 have done the best job out of all thus far to get the best quality. Get the one with the most seeds/leechers though, others are just copies and trying to make a name for themselves.

I was with TorrentDamage Torrentleech and Super Torrent before they went south. Also with TorrentShak and IPT but haven't been there for a long time, thus don't know if they're still online or not. I'm with another one atm but can't say for ratio reasons :))

Sure ;)

I feel that torrents are becoming less popular. The one good thing about private trackers is for rare content. For example the indian tracker Karagarga, you can find lots of foreign films that are nowhere else. But for popular movies I just use Genesis on my tv. There was also popcorntime. Basically there are lots of kodi extensions that replaced torrents for me.

The CM8 one doesn't have as much seed/leech as the standard one on torrentz.eu

Yeah, I know what you mean. There'll always be replacements and substitutes. Regarding Kodi... Genesis is about to go down soon as the provider suggested it. Popcorn time is good and they've replaced the SE version with The Community version as well as the IO version.

Stremio is a good sub for desktop too.

It hasn't released in the UK yet, have you seen Southpaw? hopefully it was better then that as well and does creed do the Rocky franchise justice?

Southpaw was good. This is better though. And yes. It is worthy of the Rocky franchise. Young Michael Jordan kills it. And the fight scenes were on another level, even better than Southpaw.

Just saw Spotlight.

Absolutely amazing. Follows the Boston globe reporters who uncovered the Catholic Church scandal in early 2000s. Keaton and Ruffalo kill it and it is a very well crafted film, follows the style of some other great investigative films such as All the Presidents men.

Deals with a very harrowing and haunting topic, so not a film you can take lightly. One of those that will get you thinking and rile you up at how the system generally works.

In the Heart of the Sea.

A solid film, not great but certainly worth a look IMO. Enjoyed it. Dont let its metacritic score of 47 scare you off, nowhere near that bad.

Anyone else feels Helen Mirren is an over-actor?

I find many of her movies she plays a character that have the same facets as the previous ones she's done and in majority cases, I cannot stand her OTT acting.

SPOILERS for those that haven't seen The Revenant yet....This is the Bear scene below :)

Meryl Streep of the poor.

The hateful eight

Good interesting movie, reminded me of Mafia game Red Devil Muhammed Ismaeel

Inside Out

Screw all you miserable sons of guns who say these are kids films. SCREW ALL OF YOU.

Outstanding again Pixar. Outbloodystanding. Had me choking up a bit at the end :((

And Amy Phoeler from Parks and Rec being the lead is just the icing on an already delicious cake. Great actress/voice actress.

I knew you'd love it :)) couldn't agree more with every word. There will be sequels to!

Donal, out of the Lego movie, Inside Out and the 1st How to Train your dragon, which movie is your favourite

These animated movies always have such a beautiful narrative and they are so witty in their execution, the movies are generally really clever to and I like how they don't go full retardd just because they know the little kids will be watching the movie with their parents....baring the likes of myself and Donal who are probably the only big dudes who watch such movies in the cinema :))) because we don't give a damn what people think

Well the Lego movie is definitely last of the 3, it was fine but nothing special IMO.

Ahh the other two though, impossible to pick man, maybe IO because it got me more emotional but HTTYD made me so damn happy its indescribable.

As an only child, that family hug at the end :(

Some good movies in the cinemas atm, need to watch Big Short, Joy and Concussion

and then Khuda ke liye for some desi touch :inzi :mc

If you loved Inside Out and are looking for other animated masterpieces that appeal equally to adults, try:

Up
Song of the Sea
Mary and Max

I'd slide Wreck-it Ralph in for originality and soundtrack, but it's still predominantly for kids.

The Martian.

Impressed with the details on the science side. Most of it made sense - though no idea how accurate. You could tell someone at NASA did cross the Ts and dot the Is before letting it out.

Terrible screenwriting, however. So mediocre/hackneyed the dialogue was that pretty much everyone had to overact to get anything out of it. There is little, if any, tension in this move, and the most tense moment of the movie is followed by an "assuming everything goes right" sentence. Didn't expect it coming from Ridley Scott.

Once you have seen the first 20 minutes of the movie, do the following. Pause it, take out a piece of paper, and write your best guess of what is going to happen at the end. Chances are, you have probably got it right.

They should have cut out the earth side of the movie entirely from the middle. Cast Away (Tom Hanks) had a powerful ending for that specific reason. They should have left Watney's struggles to themselves - as it is, the loneliness tone vanishes by the time you hit the 40-minute mark.

Unbreakable

This suspense thriller unfolds as the audience is introduced to David Dunn. Not only is he the sole survivor of a horrific train-crash that killed 131 people he doesn't have a scratch on him. Elijah Price is an obscure character who approaches Dunn with a seemingly far fetched theory behind it all.

Stop posting spoiler guys....not many have watched the movies you mention. Also don't use the "N" word even if it's used openly in the movie.

You should know better than this

Need to see UP, I remember it being so well received when it came out. Any of you seen HUGO? it has amazing reviews but absolutely flopped at the box office, I like the premise of the movie

yeah please have the courtesy to say it's a spoiler if you are going to post something about the plot of the film

What 10 movies are the most likely to get nominated for the Oscars' best picture?

My guesses:

Spotlight
The Revenant
Room
The Big Short
The Martian
Mad Max: Fury Road
The Hateful Eight
Straight Outta Compton
Creed
Brooklyn

Other possibilities:
Carol
Inside Out (will most likely win the best animated movie award)
Star Wars
Steve Jobs
The Bridge of Spies

It's the usual superficial plot that he tries to make seem deeper with lots of posing and monologues. Add in lots of cool music and hyperviolence to reel in the viewers who won't feel too bad about it as the violence is against the bad guys, the confederates and the racists (so the perfect revenge fantasy for wannabe-blacks like Tarantino).

I have not seen the movie but reading your criticism, its safe to say that you are not a Tarantino fan which is quite understandable. His stuff has become more polarizing lately. I think Pulp Fiction is still the best movie he ever made but to deny him greatness just because his dialogues seem to run longer than others or because he is unapologetic about the use of profanity and violence in his movies, seems a tad too harsh. Same goes for his criticism of being a wanna-be black. Its as silly as criticizing a black director for making a movie about surfing. Wonder why an Italian like Sergio Leone never got criticized for making movies about the wild wild west.

I think most people nowadays, especially of the millennial generation watch movies the same way they watch a TV show or a YouTube video. Its all content, being absorbed on one's phone, iPad, Laptop etc. often times while multi-tasking like texting with friends or posting on a blog or taking a dump. The appreciation of the aesthetic quality of movies is been replaced with the importance of the script and the freshness of the plot. Not surprisingly more and more movies nowadays other than the Marvel comic adaptations are looking like TV made movies because the consumption of content, any content for that matter is being treated the same way. Hence, ordinary two-bit made-for-TV movie like The Big Short about Wall Street abuses gets the critics raving for its socially conscious reveling in victimization theme.

Strange that this shift from aesthetically driven to writer-driven TV series style movies has bring Tarantino more grief than others as he is a brilliant screenplay writer (True Romance) and at times the writer in him takes over the director with the prologues and all. But above all, Tarantino believes in the visual medium. He is one of last remaining auteurs of American cinema in the league of PTA and Wes Anderson. In the visual sense he has a true Gen X rebel screw it all mentality as opposed to the the touchy feely conformity driven snowflake mindset, too afraid to hurt someones feelings or inflame the social warrior types. What if they start another twitter campaign against the movie for being harsh towards blacks or women or midgets. Its a sad reality of our inclusivity driven PC culture. So much for the anti-corporate mantra of the millennials when they have truly become part of this corporate "please all and offend no one" mentality. As a result, American cinema has suffered with only a handful of movies coming out each year even worth talking about.

Did not mean this to become a rant but in short, its all too fair to dislike Tarantino's style or aesthetic vision. But when the criticism is rooted in the garb of social sensibilities with words like "hyper-violence" than it really becomes more like a morality lecture than an actual critique.

Btw Mad Max was a horrible horrible film. So overrated and media driven, it's unreal.

Gonna watch the Big Short today. Watched Sicario yesterday and have to say my palms were sweaty from the scene at the end on the dinning table. Really good and tense film.

^ I thought Mad Max was actually the best action movie of the year. Choreographed action, as they call it. Should win a few awards.

No doubt the cinematography was good but the movie was utter tripe. Why even call it Mad Max when the film wasn't even about him.... Mind boggling really. Hell The Revenant had equally good cinematography too.

Utter tripe? Give it some credit. Overrated is A Force Awakens.

Yeah, utter tripe. I haven't seen Star Wars but I imagine JJ Abrams can do a more better job in keeping the public in his rear-view and also keeping their attention throughout than George Miller did with Fury Road.

At least I can say I'm not the only one that found it highly overrated :)

Looking forward to The Revenant & Hateful Eight.

Revenant is a terrific film and grips the viewer from the scene above....and never lets go.

Hat8ful 8ight will have it's detractors, as there always are with a QT movie, but if you can take in the first 1hr30mins than you'll get the rewards for it as the end with Samual L Jackson at his hilarious best.

The movie was utter tripe because it wasn't all about Max?

Anyways, it's all personal opinion - I just wanted to see what yours was. In aggregate, critics can't seem to get over it.

Agreed, generally despise the mainstream action movies which have been inspired by the transformers franchise but mad max was unique imo not going to be everyone's cup of tea but I enjoyed it and probably one of the best action movies I had seen in a long time.

Some people dismiss it as a 2-hour chase movie, but that's exactly what sets it apart. It tells you a story of a world gone wrong, humanity turned upside down, extremeties juxtaposed, youth brainwashed while on that truck. The weakest part was probably Hardy's acting - but Theron more than made up for it.

And that 'Brothers in Arms' track:

Best movie of the year by a long shot - MAD MAX FURY ROAD.

Also, I have to say that I finally fell to the hype and decided to watch STAR WARS. Since I had no introduction to the Star Wars universe, I decided to take the long route and go for all the Star War movies beginning from the chapter 1.

The person recommending me the franchise told me that I should watch it in the sequence of the Universe as it happened - so I watched the Star Wars Episode 1 (shot in the 90's having Liam Neeson and Natalie Portman). So far so good.

Well, I'd say, after seeing the first 4 episodes, I am not very keen on the franchise. Since I got a movie gift card, I will still use it to watch the latest episode but it isn't for me. It neither has the depth of Star Trek universe (TV shows only - notably Voyage and DS9) nor the graphic genius of an Avatar.

A very over rated franchise - for all the Star War fanboys, please don't bring your light sabers and go all sith on me but this is just my feeling.

Also my list of best movies released in 2015

1. Mad Max Fury Road

2. The Revenant

3. Creed

4. Inside Out

I never thought I'd like Mad Max Fury Road and went with a very closed mind for it. I thought it would be horrible, dull, and the usual holly wood crap but it simply blew me away.

Furiosa and Mad Max deliver and despite all its shortcomings and notable flaws, this movie stands out for me.

Non Stop action with brilliant graphics and a sense that keeps you on edge.

Definitely, my pick of the year.
