Just watched My Soul to Take.

I am disappoint Wes Craven.

Of Mice and Men..saw it in school the other day :))

Pretty good acting from the guy who played Lennie

Iron Man 2.

Baqwaas..sometime I wonder why they even bother making sequals to decent/great films.

'Bheja Fry 2' 2011 (Vinay Pathak, K.K. Menon, Minissha Lamba)

A below average film and an utter disgrace upon 'Bheja Fry' (2007), the 'original one'. It went fine till the two (Vinay Pathak and K.K. Menon) found that guy on island who was so obsessed with his radio set. From then on it was only headache, nothing else:boom:! What was the purpose to make such a sequel?

I am watching deepika in cc to china rite now on colors . its a terrible movie but i like deepika :)

'Khichdi - The movie' 2010 (hardly a star-cast that that I knew before)

It is low budget film without much publicity gained, but it broke hell out of me:)):)))!!! One of the best comedy films that Bollywood has ever produced:)).

Highly recommended:19:!!!

I saw Sin Nombre a Mexican movie which is about the trials and tribulations Central Americans face in trying to escape their homeland in order to get to the United States...its interlaced with a gangster theme covering MS13 which works really well...

Been watching quite a few documentaries lately...one of the better ones was called 'The Agronomist' which is about Jean Dominique who ran Radio Haiti for 40 years...the courage of this man is incredible...the documentary itself provides an extremely balanced view of what has happened in Haiti...truly tragic how that country has been abused by the US, Canada and France...

that was a great movie.

i saw transformers 2:revenge of the fallen

great effects. but camera is moved about too much. cant make much sense of what is going on.

also movie is overlong. although robotic actress megan fox is

i fell asleep 3/4th through the movie and woke up near the end .

average movie. nothing special.

5/10.

Watched transformers 2 again on hbo yesterday only for Meg da Fox & i love the scene where that little robot starts rubbing itself on meg's leg & she tells shia atleast he is loyal :))

Transformers 3

Way too long...really dragged in places and a lame/cheesy ending. The new chick is terrible.

It seems the makers tried too hard. The final result is a loud, mish mash of a movie.

Overall, as bad as Transformers 2.

Finally watched HANGOVER 2.

One word: Horrible. Dont expect a classic like Hangover 1. It wasnt funny at all..only had a few laughs and thats it. Tbh, they shouldnt have made this movie..Now people who didnt see the previous one probably wont bother watching it because of their HO2 experience...

with that said, Hangover 1 still remains one of my favorite comedies ever.

Has a bit of a Latin week movie wise...

Had Elite Squad 1 + 2 around for ages and finally got to watch both...really fascinating films and brilliant action...they both raise some extremely interesting ideological questions regarding the role of law enforcement and how to tackle crime...they are also both completely different in their ideological leaning in terms of their slant...

Voces De Inocentes is a movie on the Salvadoran war as told by a child...fantastic and truly moving...

Machuca is a Chilean movie again spoken from the perspective of children before and during the Pinochet regime...its a lot more subtle and less dramatic than Voces De Inocentes but is extremely powerful in terms of differentiating the experiences of both the rich and poor during this time period...

The Official Story is an Argentinian movie dealing with their period of dictatorship under Videla...this is probably the most powerful movie of all of these in dealing with class and experience under a dictatorship...its fascinating how the main character slowly develops conscience and questions her role...whats brilliant about these flicks is there are no one dimensional characters...and no clear lines of good and bad...

Great review! Exactly what I thought of the movie.

Heard a lot of good things about these two and they have recieved terrific reviews. I've been thinking of watching them myself but a review saying they are not for people who don't understand the Brazilian culture kind of put me off.

Agree..rubbish sequel.

'Double Dhamaal' 2011 (Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, Ashish Choudhary, Javed Jafery, Kangna Ranaut, Malika Sherawat)

There goes another one of those garbage comedy film from Bollywood and another rubbish sequel:boom:. It is nothing apart from mocking off of old films and mimicry of old and current film stars. I need to say it again, black people being made fun of in Bollywood has become very common nowadays which is simply pathetic to say the least:boom:.

I don't agree with that review...if anything the two movies will give you an insight into Brazilian culture in terms of their war on drugs from all angles...the essential message of both films can be applied to many societies other than Brazil...don't be put off if your a novice on Brazil...they are both excellent movies...

Fair enough and thanks for the feedback but i think it's more a documentary than an epic as such right? I love foreign movies and have seen more than most but The City Of God didn't do it for me and i was wondering if it was along them lines.

Invictus - I think it was quite popular back when it came out a couple of years ago. It was a little boring in the middle but I enjoyed it. I think it was a missed opportunity though as it focused too much on how they won the world cup and not enough on Mandela.

Have been recommended by a friend to watch Adjustment Bureau with Matt Damon I think. Has anyone seen it? Worth a watch?

Yeah it has a bit of a docudrama feel about it...it is examining the drug war in the barrios...its strengths are based on its story and the characters...and it does make you think...it is a political movie in many ways...it is stylistically shot and the action is good but I wouldnt class it as an action movie...if one liked infernal affairs then I can see them enjoying this...City of God was specifically about barrio life...this is about life on the other side...

Invictus was a good watch, for sure.

I enjoyed "Adjustment Bureau", but I am a Matt Damon fan. :D

Finally watched 'The Yellow Sea'...its taken nearly a year to find a copy with subtitles...from the director of 'The Chaser' and with much of the same cast...its decent but not as good as I hoped it would be...strong performances and some strong action scenes but some parts of the script were far fetched...still if you like your Korean action flicks then its worth viewing...

Thanks for elaborating and i think i'll give it a watch.

Ah...same director and lead actors from 'The Chaser' but nowhere near as good.

Go watch Delhi Belly - absolutely hilarious! Alternate cinema at its best.

Watched it today... TOI gave it 4 stars but i think is a 3 Star movie....

Lotsa galis and humour but is a tad overhyped....

Neverthls worth a watch

The Chaser did set a really high standard...you caught any Korean flicks released this year?...

Not many really this year i'm afraid other than 'I Saw The Devil' and 'The Man From Nowhere' which was probably released at the end of last year. I'm not sure if it counts (Japanese production) or if you've seen '13 Assassins' which was brutal but it is a and it was released this year.

Any foreign flicks you can recommend spanning over the last decade? They don't have to be East Asian as i've seen some brilliant French and Spanish movies.

Some of the best Korean flicks i've seen that i can think of are:

A Bitter Sweet Life
Memories of Murder
Brotherhood of War
Fighter In The Wind
OldBoy
Musa The Warrior
Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance
Mother
Failan
The Good, The Bad and The Weird
A Tale of 2 sisters

A Korean movie, My Sassy Girl (2001)
More into Japanese animes than Korean movies, but a friend really wanted me to watch it.

Saw The ghost writer!
good thriller 8/10

*Spoilers*

The film is a fiction but if it ever was a real story now way could have CIA had there own U.S president (well the wife of the president in film). It would have been the other was round U.K having there own US president.

Delhi Belly - underwhelming, too much time wasted on the fat dude and his diarrhea.

watched iron man 2 for the second time and i saw the 3rd transformers, so much breathtaking action!

Notice you didnt mention Sympathy for Lady Vengeance...I really disliked that movie especially in comparison to the other two...the big scene was quite impressive but I really disliked the main character...Mother I saw recently...that really impressed me...made a nice change from the action/thriller category...

For non-Korean movies I recommend anything by Takashii Miike...you have seen 13 assassins obviously...Dead or Alive and Fudoh are certified classics...Confessions is an incredible film which did really well...there are a lot of brilliant Japanese movies...

From Hong Kong I recommend anything by Johnny To...guy can sure make an action flick...Election and Running Out Of Time are some of his better flicks...

One Euro film I saw recently is Lilja 4 Ever which is really impressively done if human traficking is an interesting topic to you...much better than the American attempt with Mira Sorvino 'Human Trafficking'...movies and documentaries are an unhealthy addiction of mine lol...lots of good films I can think of...you got any specific French and Spanish recommendations?...

I wasn't too keen on Sympathy for Lady Vengeance either but note my list was barely scratching the surface of top Korean flicks.

I'm usually not too keen on Takashii Miike apart from '13 Assassins' because i find his movies a little too extreme in the violence department or that's the impression i got after watching 'Ichi the Killer'. However, the couple you mentioned are perhaps down my street.

I've seen Confessions and it was truly amazing - disturbing yes but i was enthralled and truly gobsmaked.

I've seen so many Hong Kong movies that if i listed them here we might encounter bandwidth issues!

I find Human Trafficking very fascinating but i've never seen anything of note on it so i appreciate your recommendations and also with your interest in documentaries it shows you have a more diverse interest of escapism than i have.

Some interesting French movies i've seen (you may have too lol):

Tell No One
Brotherhood of the wolf
A Prophet
Mr.73
Amelie
Nikita
Hidden (Caché)
Switchblade Romance
Wasabi
The Nest
District 13
Mesrine 1 & 2
36

Spanish: (not necessarily Spanish but Spanish language i think)

REC
Amores Perros
The Motorcycle Diaries
Pan's Labyrinth
Intacto

Other notable foreign movies i can think of are:

Let the Right One in
The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo
Troll Hunter

Transformers 3, rinse and repeat of the second one. Clearly, Michael Bay has run out of idea's

Troll hunter looks very interesting..

Is mother any good?

Yeah, very good mate. It is up there with the best Korean movies and directed by Bong Joon-ho who directed 'Memories of Murder'.

Troll Hunter is just an awesome, cool flick that has a documentary feel to it (one for Shaykh1985 lol) like 'The Blair Witch Project' but totally different of course and highly recommended.

Dead or Alive is extreme everything actually so you might not enjoy it...I liked Ichi the Killer for instance...Fudoh is just plain random with a lot of the comic book violence...

Lol Hong Kong cinema really is brilliant and would make a long list...

Confessions I have recommended to a lot of people...glad you liked it...check out Blue Spring for another top Japanese school flick...

Gonna check some of those movies on your list...I saw Hidden not to long ago...really interesting movie...Haneke's a unique director...check out Benny's video and Funny Games (the original) if you haven't seen them already for more of his brilliance...

You reminded me of 'Let The Right One In'...i have a copy of it which I've been meaning to see...

Thanks for the list...

I actually quite liked Ichi the Killer...it's just the violence was a little extreme lol and it's not the type of film i can stomach everyday.

Im going to check Blue Spring and may i suggest another Jap school flick although i think you may have seen it - Battle Royale!!!

Thanks for the recommendations...

Went to watch Delhi Belly last night - Was a good laugh! Something different which will not be something that everyone would like!

The best till the last - Aamir Khan as the "Disco Fighter" :))

SUPER 8 MOVIE, Took me back to the days of E.T

I really enjoyed the movie, I thought it was some gorilla, until the the thing was uncovered in one of the main scenes,

I also really loved super 8. it has a nice sweet story line and is far from a typical monster movie, bayformers 3 however was just explosions, only thing enjoyable was optimus prime killing stuff and to for a small time unlike super 8, Kung Fu panda 2 is good as well

Is it a family film? I heard negative things about it in this regard:13:....
