I liked it, it was comedy, emotional and almost all the songs were super hit.

Will consider watching it:19:.

Evenin Ramadhan Guys??

So far in Ramadhan I have watched only one film which addresses an amazingly important issue. There was no immorality involved and nothing sexual. Even there is anything such, one can always skip it even if it is no Ramadhan. Hope I am clear:).

Mother 2009 A korean drama/thriller about a mother who has no shadow of a doubt that her mentally challenged son is innocent of a schoolgirls murder and goes to any lengths to prove it

The film starts off a bit slow but then quickly unravels into an excellent thriller Great acting by the lead mother who plays the role of a loving n desperate mother brilliantly Another feather in the cap of korean cinema Expect the unexpected in mother

8.5/10

Good movie...first time I tried to watch it, I fell sleep (it was late)
Second time, I fell asleep again towards the end (late again )

The 48hr streaming limit has expired and I don't have enough minutes left for online streaming on LOVEFILM for PS3..I have to wait until Aug 11th until it is updated

Mother (2009 - Korean film)

Wow. One of the most gripping and intense films i've seen in a while. The movie doesnt achieve this with fight scenes, but the story and how the director executes the scenes are brilliant. Very tragic film.

Because of this film, i did some research on Korean films and saw this movie called ...... THE CHASER

Everyone needs to watch this right now! It was easily the best film that i've seen since the Dark Knight. I don't want to give a description of the film as this would spoil some of the surprises.

I've been catching up with semi-recent Bolly movies I missed.

Today, I saw "Wake Up Sid," starring Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma. Very cute movie! Although I'm usually not big on chic flicks, I liked this film. Both the lead actors did a great job, especially Konkona. Ranbir adds a nice comic touch. Overall, a nice, lighthearted film.

7.5/10

Its All Gone Pete Tong - lead actor was excellent.

The American - decent.

The new Planet of the Apes movie was awsome! I did not expect too much but very enjoyable 9/10

Watched 'Haute Tension' ...I thought it was brilliant...a lot of people disagree on it though...

Seen a couple of Korean movies from 2011...not easy to get ones hands on 2011 releases...

Children which unfortunately imo suffered from what I felt was a weak second half...its a shame cos the first half was brilliant...still worth seeing though...

I Am Father is a decent action flick but no that special...the Koreans set the bar really high on these types of flicks...

Limitless-Boring and timewaste...saw it because I couldnt sleep before sehri lol...skip this one.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

What a Movie!! best movie this year definitely

8.5/10

Watched quite alot of films during my Summer vacation in Pakistan, some films are...

Bol, Murder 2, The haunted, The ring 2 and Saw IV - enjoyed all of them, the last two are apparently horror films, but to me... They were nowhere near horror.

Yesterday I watched Salman's Khan film Ready - it's comedy, I enjoyed it alot... Despite it getting very complicated during the middle of the film, overall a good film, worth it.

Crazy, Stupid, Love - I thought it was very good. Steve Carell is a great actor.

Indeed, did not live up the hype.

made it unnecessarily complicated, and the ending was rubbish.

Ready was awful. Salman needs to stop taking the same roles like the one from Wanted. Dabang was kind of good..but he is getting really stale now. Bodyguard will be the same Salman Khan garbage we have seen before..

I watched Rec last night and was watching it with headphones...have to say that movie is intense...was slow starting but when it kicks off it kicks off...the camera works...you really do think your there...I'm not a particular fan of horror but I enjoyed this...

Agreed. I couldn't even finish the movie. Don't understand why people thought it was so great.

Haven't seen that one yet. I love horror movies so I will have to check it out!

Yeah, it's excellent! It's much better than Paranormal Activity, in my opinion. Also, Rec 2 wasn't bad either. You might want to check it out.

Yeah I've got Rec 2...will be giving it a watch soon enough...I haven't watched Quarantine which is the remake...you seen it?...

I watched X-men first class yesterday - thought it was very good, kept me entertained and linking the film with previous parts made it even more interesting. The scene of Wolverine is just brilliant, epic.

I'll be watching Hangover 2 tonight on DVD - looking forward to it, loved the first one.

Heard it's same as the first one, just a diff place

Rise of the Apes was sick! :D

I actually got legit scared afterwards that the events may happen in real life

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Rated at 6.4/10 on IMDB. Fair enough rating.

Ratatouille. Excellent film.

Conversations with My Gardener (Dialogue avec mon jardinier) only rated 7/10 on IMDB. I thought that it was worth a lot more than that. Daniel Auteuil and Jean-Pierre Darroussin were excellent.

Two excellent films amongst many from Korea and i think contemporary Korean cinema surpasses any other movie industry.

The other two slipped under my radar, is there a website/forum that you find these latest movies?

I've only seen a couple of Korean films, but each one was excellent :akhtar What do you think sets them apart from other film industries?

Would you happen to have any recommendations for other Korean films?

I've seen these two, the first 2 films from the Vengeance Trilogy and My Sassy Girl. Since i got into Korean films, i watch 1 every day :)

It's the realistic appeal that sets them apart for me, i suppose a good comparison would be the levels of violence and the methods used.

Take for example mainstream Hollywood movies, most use guns which allows for a greater physical distance from the camera.
The lack of proximity makes the violence less personal and less appealing to me.

Now take The Chaser, the killer uses a hammer and chisel to dispatch his victims, claw hammer and broken tooth brush in OldBoy, Mr. Vengeance hones his killing skills at the batting cage and so on...

All these weapons require the wielder to get up close and personal with his victim and by extension the audience is almost forced to be a witness to the savage violence as if they are in the room.

Some movies that i enjoyed are:

1. Memories of Murder
2. Bitter Sweet Life
3. OldBoy
4. I Saw the Devil
5. Brotherhood of War
6. Failan
7. Musa
8. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter ... and Spring
9. Fighter in the Wind
10. Windstruck
11. The Host
12. The Man from Nowhere
13. 3-Iron

^ Nice analysis and very true. The suspense in all these films kill me...

The acting is also very impressive. They put their heart into their jobs and this also adds to the realistic effect. Also, the fight scenes are more believable...

Try My Sassy Girl as well...its extremely funny and entertaining :)

Talladega Nights on cable..:))) :)))

Saw it for the 3rd time. Hilarious movie. that lunch scene still makes me :))) out loud

I've seen it, romantic comedy and it's simply brilliant...
Have you seen the brutal I Saw the Devil yet?

It's downloading as we speak :)

I loved My Sassy Girl...are there any other films similar to it? I heard of Windstruck, but i think i know what happens in the end :( Is it still worth a watch

SPOILER for Windstruck

I found out that she commits suicide

127 Hours - great film, tremendous performance by James Franco :iamlegend

Saw it a week ago. Absolutely disgusting movie. I don't enjoy these types of graphically violent movies; my stomach can't handle it! The plot was interesting though!

I know what you mean...these movies are designed for a certain set of audience i suppose. I've seen a lot worse so the violence didn't bother me at all, in fact it was all necessary in the film and ultimatley made it in to the best revenge movie i've seen in a long while...

Windstruck is absolutely worth a watch as is Failan but they are far more emotionally charged than My Sassy Girl].

Another excellent one if you can get hold of is The Classic.

All these take their the time but ultimately each unravels in to a masterpiece.

The Change Up

8.5/10

The Company Men

Ben Affleck, Tommy Lee Jones, Kevin Costner and Chris Cooper. It's about job loss and downsizing in the corporate world. One second these men are living in big mansions, driving Porsche and playing golf, living way beyond their means, thinking the ride is never going to get over and suddenly they lose their jobs and the whole world around them crumbles down. It screws up their marital lives, their self esteem and confidence. Have to say, losing one's job has to be one of the most depressing and earth shattering experience of one's life. The hopelessness, feelings of worthlessness and insecurity is enough to kill you. It's bad enough if you have to support yourself but if you have a family, that can be devastating.

Anyways, this movie captures that well. A lesson to all to live within their means and save for the rainy day.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes-

Not a big fan of James Franco, and my opinion remains after seeing this film. With that being said, the film itself was very good. The combination of an intriguing concept, some excellent special effects, and the eye-pleasing Freida Pinto made it an enjoyable experience for me. 8/10

watched hangover 2 recwntly and was really disappointed with it

would love to watch planet of the apes

12 rounds.

Dont ever watch this piece of crap. If someone gifts the DVD to you, dont accept it. Leave the room or change the channel if its being shown on tv. I would rather watch an indian drama than that.

I'm going to watch Double Dhamaal. Hope it doesn't turn out to be a disappointment.
