Really?

Well I didn't like it that much. Am I losing my sense of humor or what?

i thought it was pretty ordinary as well, but not a silly movie, good valueble lessons

District 9

A sci-fi movie about aliens who are stuck in Johannesburg. Produced by the guy who did Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson. There is a lot of symbolism in the movie (apartheid and xenophobia). At times it is like Transformer. It is an action-filled movie, but I think gives a bad impression at times (lots of swearing by one of the actors etc.). I would give it a 6 1/2.

From a South African viewpoint it is probably the one of best movies filmed in SA, but the post production was done overseas. etc.

District 9 was superb. Emotionally heart wrenching and a movie that provides an indepth look at the human psyche- it's humanity who are the monsters.

Inglorious was side splitting comedy at its best. Tarantino at his best and Pitt's southern American Jewish hillbilly character was profoundly insane. :)))

"Bonjourno."

District 9 wasn't that bad, and it wasn't that good either. It'd give it a solid 7.5 or even an 8. Wasn't that emotional nor was it action packed. The fist half was immensely boring but it picked up in the latter half. The story was good and it deserves a sequel.

saw quite a few this week, with the Eid break and all...here goes:

Bruno - absolutely pathetic and LAME

Wanted - :))) hilarious, although it was not supposed to be

Ghost of Girlfriend's Past - typical RomCom

Fighting - pathetic

Inglorious Basterds - good fun, enjoyed it

Last 2 weeks:
Clear and Present Danger - good
Karate Kid part 2 - OK
Doubt - good but at the end I felt there was something left or needed for the movie
Karate Kid: good
All the President's Men - good
Fast & Furious (the third one) - I watched half and went to sleep. Will see it again at sometime but didn't like much of the first half

Went to watch District 9 yesterday.

Really good movie.

Its without doubt the best movie I've seen at the cinema for a few months now.

Taking of Pelham 123

Action movie with John Travolta as the bad guy (leads a team of hijackers) and Denzel Washington as the good guy. I would rate it as best thriller movie of the year so far. 8/10. Not too shabby.

I don't know which wanted stars salman khan, i saw the hollywood version last week and it was really good for an action movie. 8/10

Bollywood probably copied it, they didn't even bother to change the name this time?

District 9 was good, i think they over did the making it realistic bit. The start was pretty boring but overall it was a really good movie with a good combination of action, humor and an original plot line. 8.5/10

Btw expect bollywood to now come up with an "original" movie based on aliens.. with an unexpected twist.

The Rebound. Catherina Zeta jones ( my girlfriend forced me to watch this 1 ) :)

Yeah I bet she did. ;-)

Just admit it. You like chick flicks. You like Catherine Zeta. :))

Taxi Driver. Merc started a thread on this one a year or so ago which arose my curiosity. I am not a movie person but this movie is said to be heavily influenced by Dostoevsky's Notes from the Underground, one of my favorite books by my favorite writer. I didn't like the ending of the movie. Apart from that it was OK. De Niro's acting was absolutely flawless as a socially maladjusted individual. I have a work colleague who does not say much and even walks and moves like De Niro in this movie.

The Fountain (2007)

loved it, based on tree of life...Hugh Jackman is class, and music score of the movie is awesome

8/10

Downloaded it a few weeks back through the Pirate Bay. All I can say is that I was most pleased - quality of the movie i'm speaking about.

:yk

Get Smart -- funny movie.

17 Again -- good comedy/romance. 8/10.

Mr Woodcock -- funny movie, 8/10.

District 9 -- good movie.

Drag Me To Hell -- some of the horror scenes looked funny. ok movie.

G.I.Joe.The.Rise.Of.Cobra -- Stopped watching after 15-20 mins. Actions scenes were shot in 1980s i guess.

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen -- Excellent movie. 9.99/10

Running the Sahara

quite an amazing documentary .. three men run 4000+ miles across the entire sahara in 100 days

Please rate out of 5 stars I will watch the winner tonight:

1) Whats your Rashee
2) Dil bole Hadippa
3) Wanted

Wanted was the best out of the three you listed.

Dil Bole Hadippa was just plain pathetic. Especially the game at the end.

What's your Rashee... I think the title tells you a lot about how boring this one is.

Wanted was so stupid, you just HAVE to watch it..."Don Ghani" :))) :)))

i dont even bother watching bollywood films these days most of them are just copies of each other and re-released in another format with different actors/actresses lol

i watched 'A Walk To Remember' (2002)..... at first i thought it was going to be a teen romance sort of high school based boy meets girl film but it turned out to be different, ive watched it 4 times now, it really is sad, and both shane and mandy moore (especially) acted really well and her plain look in the film is astonishing from how she is in real life (her voice is amazing) i would rate it 8/10 (i wouldnt say it's a chick flick but if anyone who has seen this would love to hear their comments)

someone told me that the Notebook is a good film to watch but ive yet to watch it any reviews???

Sky movies has been playing "Blindness" all week. A very intriguing film.

I watched....

Body of Lies a few days ago. I liked it a lot. It had good action scenes but the story was equally intriguing.

I finally watched Quantum of Solace and thought it could have been much much better. It was fine for a little while but then it became a little boring.

Well I dont remember the last movie I watched...

I dont watch many movies except for horror films and some action.Bollywood-big NO.Although I did like "99".:)

cinderally man is great watched it long ago.
I watched dark night.
Joker acting and batman voice,i love it.

Zombieland - 8.5/10 - pretty good action comedy about zombies. Definitely worth watching.

Vertical Limit - Probably 8-9-10 years old. Not a bad movie to watch. Good movie. It was about K-2 and adventures. It was not shot on location (maybe some parts to get the scenery) and I think some people playing Pakistani people were not Pakistani. Well they really cannot shoot on location as actors and camera crew cannot be 25+K feet above sea level

did it not drag on too long..

No it didn't. It only became more and more intense. It asks probing questions about choice, justice, guilt and responsibility. I watched it to wash Wolf Creek out of my system that I tried watching with my in-laws. I found it absolutely rubbish and could not watch for more than 15-20 minutes. The Reader, on the other hand, is a thoroughly thought-provoking film that I enjoyed a lot.

Zombieland, pretty good. 8/10

Not as funny as i expected however.

I watched it yesterday. I'm generally a huge fan of zombie flicks, but this one just didn't rate highly for me. I guess I was expecting more after watching a few teaser trailers. I'd probably give it 6.5/10.

The Bill Murray sequence was interesting. Also the zombie girl in the dorm room was quite freaky.

Zombieland

was pretty friggin good... Bill Murray haha Woody Harrelson bein a fan of BM cracked me up hehe

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY

This is definitely the scariest movie I've seen in a long long long time. Definitely i will rank it as the second most scariest movies of all times.

There was no special effect or anything, just plain camera and simple movie that plays with your mind

A lot of people have been telling me to watch it. They say it scared the living daylights out of them.

I am definitely going to give it a go. Hopefully I don't pee in my pants. :)))

Lakeview Terrace.

A better than average Samuel L. Jackson movie. I used to have a cop as a neighbour and I'm sure as heck glad it was nothing like having the character Jackson plays in this movie as a neighbour :) I rate this movie 6.5/10.

One film that I went to watch and really enjoyed was from Bollywood which is "WAKE UP SID" starring : Ranbir Kapoor, Konkona Sen and Anupam Kher. A really feel good movie! Its something which one can relate to easily! A nice movie you can watch with family, friends and really have a good time!

My rating for Wake Up Sid : 9/10

Also in recent times have seen "Do Knot Disturb" a comedy film starring : Govinda, Ritesh Deshmukh, Sushmita Sen, Lara Dutta and Sohail Khan. A fun film made by one of Bollywood's funniest director David Dhawan and a film you can enjoy as a time pass nothing more as most of these comedy flicks are! Not a bad one in recent times to come out of Bollywood.

My rating for Do Knot Disturb : 6/10

The more recent ones I've been to watch are "Blue" starring Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan and Lara Dutta with Katrina Kaif making a special appearance in it with singer Kylie Minogue, whose appearance is a mere marketing gimmick. One of Bollywood's biggest budget film to be made in recent times This one could turn out to be as big a disaster as the Titanic. By Titanic, I mean the actual ship that sank, not the film that soared to the sky. Industry reports say that Blue cost over Rs 120 crores to produce and it seems that none of that fancy moolah went into script development.

Blue is quite a boring movie and one looses interest in the movie soon after the initial start and nothing at all even the music of the film is not upto scratch especially that too from A.R. Rahman who is one of the best in their music industry. Overall its a crap movie basically! :P

My rating for Blue: 4/10

The last one I went to watch was Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sohail Khan starrer Main Aur Mrs Khanna, another boring film from Bollywood! Nothing new in the movie just like the 2 songs though one "Dont Say Alvida" and the other one is nice too "Rabba" by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

So if anyone from here is thinking of watching a Bollywood film out of these 2 then dont watch any of them as they are quite pathetic! :P

Rating for Main aur Mrs Khanna : 5/10

"Wake up sid" "Blue" "Do Knot Disturb"

Is this a new trend in bollywood? All english names for their movies?

After using English words in their songs this is the new way to go for Bollywood with English titles for their movies! :P

Especially the names Wake Up Sid and Blue!

Wake up Sid was good.. inspirational even though i friggin hate bollywood movies..

wanna watch Paranormal Activity

Yeah I saw wake up sid on Friday and I loved it. I have seen a lot of people that have similar stories to Sid and thus it was easy to follow and understand.

Watched Blue. First Day. First Show.

I have been a die-hard Akshay Kumar fan since my childhood so make it a point to watch all his movies. Blue was an alright film. Better than Akshay's last few movies atleast. However, the storyline was pretty shaky and for the most part it was a case of "all style.. no substance." Still, Akshay did pretty well and I would recommend it to any Akshay fan.

I heard about it. Is this with Salman Khan?

It's not a bollywood movie.

Paranormal Activity has been gaining steam and is supposedly one of the best horror movies ever made by Hollywood.

Don't listen to Foozee - There must be a Bollywood movie with similar name - "Pra normal activity"? Can't tell with Hollywood making films with names in english

Who is this and why is he not as famous as Salman Khan for taking his shirt off and dancing or Sharukh Khan as some sad dude. I hope he was acting in 90s atleast

Looks like you have not met Rajnikanth yet. But don't look at these clips more than once as they are addictive and you will try to be like him. In 80s I saw some trying to do his ciggerate flipping stunt (which sadly is not in the clips)

very underrated but had cult following

you mean has a cult following...they literally worship him in Chennai

I am talking about 80s. No idea from 90s on. Well if Rani Kant do it no one can

Same here! But it wasn't what it was made out to be! Mostly all the big budget movies end up being crap! Akshay was OK in it!
