Life in a Metro(2007) Directed by Anurag Basu

Always wanted to revisit this movie..Watched it in theater when it released back in 07..

What an amazing movie....Songs/BGM are fantastic as well.

The Movie is about intertwined lives of people living in a city. Settings are just perfect..we get the sense of the city..cinematography is great!!

All the actors..Irfan Khan,Konkana Sen Sharma, Shilpa shetty,Shiney Ahuja, Dharmendra,Kangna Ranauth,Kay Kay Menon,Sharman Joshi all just suit their characters to perfection.

Dialogues well written..a mature and realistic hindi film.

Must watch for people who watch bollywood...and even people who dont like the usual masala bollywood will like this movie.

My fav song in the movie

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bvbwTqNqq9c" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Other songs are equally awesome as well...

Bad Teacher - hilarious, awesome, absolutely loved it. Cameron Diaz with an awesome performance.

Lol I thought it was good at times.. Horrible bosses is still the funniest movie of 2011 IMO..

And is Ra.One that bad ? Everyone seems disillusioned. :/

the English language does not yet have a word to accurately describe how bad it is.

vile, vomit-inducing and pathetic come close.

LOL @ Taran Adarsh. You should ALWAYS go the other way: if he gives a 4/5 to a movie, take it as a 1/5 and vice-versa, because his perspective is of a 'typical' 90s Bollywood fan (masala & Sheela types.) I'm sure that for him Anurag Kashyap is the worst Indian director ever, to give you an example.

Watched 'Shaitan', really good. The leading actor (forgot his name) is choosing his movies with great maturity, loved 'Aamir' too.

Rajeev Khandelwal, although the lead actor was technically Kalki Koechlin.

Dr. Strangelove

One of my friend recommended this. Downloaded and watched this , one of the best comedy movies i watched so far.

A rouge american general initiates a nuclear attack on soviet illegally , and when american military
finds this they will try to recall the attack. But they couldnt and ll inform american president.
And then the real fun starts ( Dont want to add a spoiler ).

AZ - How can you watch it before the release???Isn't it releasing tommorow?

Rajeev Masand of CNN-IBN gave Rockstar higher than Ra.one

3 > 2.5

Just watched Ra One in cinema.. Was a decent movie maybe i didnt have alot of expectation for it after hearing so many bad things about it, can not believe so many people dont like it.. If this was a Hollywood movie i am sure it would have been a big hit and you all would have loved it. Shahrukh Khans acting was great and so was Kareena. Really enjoyed when Arjan Rampal entered the movie..

I think most of them agree that movie had some great scenes individually like the Arjun Rampaul scene you said. VFX was great...main problem was only with the insanely bad logics in the story. Other wise movie definitely took Indian cinema one step ahead in terms of visuals, graphics.

Should have stuck to that Chinese dude, looked mean...Instead they replaced him with some gay looking bloke (Arjan)

Adventures of tin tin.

Great experience yar, a must watch. They have taken it to a whole new level

Slightly disappointed with it, there was something missing. I dont think the animation is ground-breaking as hyped....animators still need to fix the dead eyes look.

rockstar - brilliant 9/10.. truly starmaking performance by ranbir, nargis was'nt bad too, music was very well interwoven into the narrative

Rockstar. Really enjoyed the movie. The first half for the fun part. The movie slowed down a bit in the second half, but just enough to still maintain interest in it. I actually liked the way the movie ended. Any other ending would have kinda ruined it for me. Ranbir acted well.

I don't know why the reviews were criticizing the storytelling. I actually liked the way the story unfolded. Sure, it was not clear and straightforward, but that's the beauty of art. That being said, I can see why people would not like this movie, especially the ending, from a commercial standpoint.

Due Date (2010)

Good comedy film starring robert downey junior and zach Galifianakis. The story is about how peter (robert) gets kicked off a plane he ws due to take from atlanta to LA to be at the birth of his kid because of the insane behaviour of ethan (zach) who reprises a similar role to the hangover film
They then take a car journey back to LA which leads to all sorts of mayhem

The gags come thick and fast in this film, a lot of the scenes are genuinely rib ticking and had me in stitches however some of the incidents tho are a little ott

But definetly worth a watch tho

8/10

'Kabhi Kabhi' 1976 (Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Raakhi Gulzaar, Neetu Singh, Rashi Kapoor)

Songs were very good but a terrible film to say the least:boom:! What did Yash Chopra smoke before thinking of such a film:facepalm:?

As a side note, she must be well over 50 now, but Neetu Singh was a stunning beauty when she was young:53:....... I stand no chance as even her son is almost a decade older than me:22:......

My Fav Song!!! I dont exactly remember the movie..it was long ago I watched it. but I though I enjoyed it ...it played in retro bollywood week in our college :D

Star Wars Episode 1. I've just got hold of the Blu-Ray versions of the films - the picture quality is absolutely stunning, to be fair and honest. And unlike some of the anti-prequel band, I always thought the Phantom Menance was alright, enjoying it again yesterday.

The only thing I can't stand is the Jar Jar factor. I never liked the character but after many years, it's apparent just how close he comes to spoiling the entire show. So many scenes, otherwise tense and solid, lose their way due to him. He is also of very little consequence in the plot's development, which makes his presence even more bewildering. If Lucas had written a script free of Jar Jar, I'm convinced the general response to the film would have been more positive.

I also hate the kid who played Anakin Skywalker. Never seen a kid given so much hate on imdb :arafat

Jake Lloyd is pretty ordinary too, but on the right side of barely watchable. Jar Jar Binks is just offensive.

It was a high level movie. You won't understand it. It was for highly intellectual individuals.:D

'Silsila' 1981 (Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Sanjeev Kumar, Rekha, Jaya Bachchan)

Another below average film:boom:! The song 'Dekha Eik Khwaab Tou Yeh Silsiley Hue' is simply one of the all time best:19:.

That was a brilliant film and could well have been 'perfect' if not for its sexual contents:26:.

The Tourist (2010)

Action/romantic film angelina jolie as a rogue spy and johnny depp the "tourist". Jolie is being pursued by scotland yard and a gangster who are both after her bcos she is the lover of international criminal "jonathan pearce" who swindled millions. Depp gets caught up in the action after he meets jolie on the train

Expectations were great from the star cast but this film is bitterly disappointing. The action and dialogue is seriously clumsy, chemistry between the pair is non existent, storyline muddled, theres very little suspense and the final twist was so so obvious

There are no plus points in this film apart from the stunning sights of venice and the delicious angelina jolie

Avoid 3/10

Yes but a film can not have everything.. Dont know why when Bollywood tries something different it gets shot but this time its being appreciated internationally but not in India. Maybe they just didnt understand the movie. Yes story wasnt the best but SRK has certainly took Indian cinema to a different level for sure.

Watched UP. 20/10

Really emotional. Get ready to cry like a baby. :(

Usually a big fan of Disney, but IMO Up was boring and overrated sure, was cute and all but too islow and a bit depressing.

Talking about depression, felt a bit sad yesterday then I watched Kung Fu Panda 2 and felt so motivated and fresh :kungfupanda

Lol, have you seen it?

Watched Tower Heist yesterday night, was pretty funny film. Not as good as what i thought it would be but still worth watching!

Rockstar - 8/10

The movie had so much potential. It could have been made (the script) in a much better way.
- Story - nothing very special.
- Direction - top notch.
- Nargis Fakri - non actor, seriously very terrible
- Ranbir Kapoor - probably the finest in this generation of Indian actors. Literally carries the entire movie on his shoulders. Seamlessly moves from one emotion to another. Hats off, really!

Given it 8 for the amazing performance of Ranbir Kapoor and the very skillfull narration and direction.

My opinion - Do go and watch it!

Immortals

utter crap movie.. was expecting something like 300.. but not in same league.. besides Mickey rourke.. acting was average.. fight scenes werent memorable.. story bhi aiween

5/10

Tony Takatani, Japanese movie...

Depressing. :danish

8/10 (good though, and esp. GORGEOUS music.)

Watched Heat (1995) the other day after a long time. Although 3 hours long its one of the best movies from the 90s in my opinion and of course brilliant acting by the 2 dons Al pacino and De niro.

Yeap. One of the movies you can watch multiple times. Even if it's just on TV and you catch it from halfway into the movie. True definition of classic.

Had a massive influence on The Dark Knight also which is quite evident.

Want to watch Devils Double about Uday Hussains body double abusing his powers.

The Score (2001)

Nick Wells, a professional criminal, decides to leave the business for good, since he nearly got caught on his last job. His plan is to live in peace with his girl Diane, running his Montreal jazz club. Soon afterward, Max, his good friend and financial partner, comes along with an offer Nick can't refuse: A historical and priceless French scepter has been discovered while being smuggled into the country. It is now under massive surveillance in the Montreal Customs House, and soon to be returned to France. Nick has to team up with Max's man inside, the young, talented and aggressive thief Jack Teller to get the precious item. Only one question remains: Who will trick whom out of their share?

What a movie. How did I miss it?. Highly recommended for those who haven't watched it yet.

Rockstar !

Beautiful movie. Was a great experience, definitely worth watching especially if you love some good music. Kun Fayakun  The second half left a little to be desired but still you have to take your hats off to these people for making an amazing movie as Bollywood doesn't make many good ones.

And a massive leap for Ranbir Kapoor. He has come off age. What a stunning performance Ranbir :19:

Once In a Life Time Movie For Ranbir Kapoor !

Screenplay was awesome in the first half...1st half was beyond my expectations. The way Ranbir Kapoor grows with the character is just amazing....He is the best actor in young bollywood now.

Nargis is hot but have to work on her acting

Gooesebumps for Tum Ho Song Guitar Instrumental in the climax... Climax was different. I have to say 2nd half was little let down compared to the 1st but was good as well.

It was amazing when everybody in the theatre sang sadda haq in sync!!!

Imtiaz ali and Rahman ,Mohit Chauhan --- Respect!!!!

Rating: 3.5/5

I am not one for picking up those little short comings. A thing as majestic as this coming out of Bollywood is just brilliant. It's one of the best ever Bolly movies IMO

The let down occurs because of the ultimate high the film's first part gives you. It takes you to the sky of epicosity.

Watched a few films recently.

Company Men starring Ben Affleck, Tommy Lee Jones, Kevin Costner. Good film about executives who are made redundant and how this has an effect on their lives - 8/10

Dont be Afraid of the Dark - Horror film starring Guy Pearce and Katie Holmes. I'm a fan of horror films but this wasn't very good - 5/10

Trespass - Starring Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman. A thriller about a rich family whose house gets raided by a gang of thieves. Pretty good 7/10

Dream House - Horror film starring Daniel Craig and Naomi Watts. An interesting storyline but it fell flat a bit in the end 4/10

Wrong Turn 4 - Latest in this series of films. Goes back to the start of how those "things" started. Plenty of blood and guts and good fun 6/10

Wow. I might just check Rockstar out.

Is it based on a true story or someones life?

Surprised you enjoyed this movie. :13: I saw the first Wrong Turn, and The Hills Have Eyes. Extremely gory movies.

I saw Rockstar after seeing a lot of good reviews here.

Storytelling was quite different to typical BW so that was a plus.

The soundtrack was surprisingly pretty good and fit the moods of the plot turns quite well.

I must say this is the first movie I've seen from BW in a long time, and the first Ranbir movie. Don't know what his other roles have been like but this guy put his all into this role.

So good that you forget he's an actor and start believing he actually is a musician. Very well done.

The fact that Nargis was in it was an added bonus <3 <3

And besides there wasn't your typical "item songs" and other bullcrap you associate with BW.

Overall a decent flick.

If you are in Interested in watching his other movies...I will suggest Rocket Singh and Wake up Sid...and probably Rajneeti after watching the other two. And for a typical bollywood movie of his Ajab prem ki Gazab Kahani...but rocket Singh and Wake up sid are must watch movies of his.

No doubt.

I could watch that movie again and again without getting bored.

How High--hilerious, its stupid at times, but what do you expect? the movie is about getting high :))

Four Brothers- excellent movie, one of my favs and have seen it multiple times before.

Shooter--another great movie by Whalberg. Must watch.

havent seen ajab prem, but the others you mentioned were brilliant movies.

Saw X-Men First Class. Not a X-Men fan or a big fan of Marvel comics, also not seen the previous X-Men movies but have to say that this movie was great. Great direction, building up of characters and action sequences. Overall, a fun 2 hour ride.

I was expecting Rockstar to be a lot better, it had the ingredients for an epic, but wasnt what i wanted.

Should have stuck to a better actress! too many air-heads in bollywood now!

law abiding citizen Entertaining but silly action thriller starring jamie fox and gerard butler

Plenty of blood n guts on show here The plot is ludicrous, leave ur brains at home cos u wont need them

Premise was good Execution couldve been a lot better

6/10

Tower Heist

loved it.. could've been a bit better.. but still funny.. Eddie Murphy had an average role.. which suits him now..coz he can't lead a movie no more lol

7/10

French Connection 1 and 2

Good crime/cop films starring a younger gene hackman Loved the documentary style of the films Highlight is the much talked about car chase in film 1

8/10

Rockstar..

Good movie. Ranbir Kapoor's acting was just brilliant. This performance should make him a big player in Bollywood and should separate him from the likes of Ranvir Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Imran khan..

Same here! Just watched it! It was different from usual BS movies that bollywood comes up with these days! A.R. Rehman and Imtiaz Ali did a great job and Ranbir Kapoor is the next big thing for a long time! Nargis Fakhri was cute! Lol but she still isn't that good in acting tbh!

Overall I would give this movie an 8/10!

yea. she's okay..

where did you go to watch it? (which theater?)

'Rockstar' 2011 (Ranbir Kapoor, Nargis Fakhri, Shammi Kapoor)

Considering the hype and positive reviews, it was a pretty awful film:boom:!

They showed the leading actress to be a characterless and cheap girl ("Junglee Jawaani" etc. things). I didn´t like that at all.

the movie isnt for everyone though...one of the main reasons why it didnt do too well in the box office.

personally I found the movie amazing..but I can uderstand when people say they do not like it..as its not for all as SAF said above!! but def not for this reason....
