I wouldn't say I'm a 'fan' of any of them - except Anil Kapor :zaka - but yes he is one actor who makes high quality and varying films, unlike that cartoon Shahrukh Khan.

Completely agree about the SRK part. Don't like Anil that much, personally think Ajay Devgan is one of the better ones out there.

Ajay's good for intense roles, falls a bit flat when it comes to comedy though.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Very good movie. 8/10. Anyone know if there is a second part due? There is no way the story ends there.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is actually the prequel to The Planet of the Apes, which was made in the 1960's. So I guess the sequel has already been made. But you should really watch it though, it is one of the best movies of all time.

Well this was the sequel (read pre-sequel) to the one made in 2001 I think. Basically this movie explained what happened before the movie in 2001. If that makes sense.

^^ What?

Which is it? The Planet of the Apes in the 60's was when Charlton Heston landed on a far away planet and encourted intelligent apes. It can't be a prequal to that since this one was made on Earth!

Looks like you missed the ending for that movie. :P

*SPOILER ALERT*

It is revealed in the end that the "far away planet" is actually Earth!! One of the best twists ever.

Really? I thought she had no role in that movie. I could see the plot work without her acting in the film.

And, I don't know. It just, well, I laughed when the apes got angry. And like I don't know, that part where the apes breakout and roll those canisters of 'super-ape' vapor on the floor....

Okay, I was just laughing during the movie. That's my explanation, haha :P

Who is Bear Grylls and which movie?

You don't know Bear Grylls? :O He's the guy from born survivor (and that's like a survival show on discovery). Here's a clip.

I would go one better, I give it a 9/10. Thought it was a captivating movie, didn't expect much cause the old Planet of Apes movies were crap, but this story and the character development of the chief ape Caeser is superb. I also think Franco was super in the movie, I have yet to speak to a single person who did not think it was a very very good movie.

^ Finally someone with some sense.

Do you know if it was a sequal, prequal or will there be another one?

It's the first of a franchise, nothing based on stuff on the older movies, that's a completely different concept altogether.

There is another one in the makings , but they are currently finalising the script, that's the last I heard. It's proven to be very successful critically, so the same production company plans on giving them the budget to make another.

I for one cannot wait, I'm telling you I had nothing to do on a Saturday morning, thought I'd watch 5-10 mins of this whilst I waited for the shower to free, ended up absolutely absorbed and watched the whole thing at 8am on a Saturday morning. My brothers then watched it and thought it was probably the best movie of the year.

It's not just brainless action, it's just such a good story. I don't know who's writing the script, but I hoep it's the same guys.

That's what I thought. I have watched all the older ones and the script wasn't linked at all.

I had to watch it again the next night to make sure I didn't miss anything. The way Ceaser's character was portrayed was simply brilliant including all his facial expressions. He didn't look fake at all.

I'm sure the next one will be just as good.

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes sequel has been confirmed by Fox. Rupert Wyatt will be returning to the director's chair.

The movie will be set some years after Rise Of The Apes. Andy Serkis has already signed up.

The 2001 Apes movie was such a big flop that it was disregarded. Rise Of The Apes is a prequel to the original 1960's movie- there are a few references in Rise Of The Apes to that movie- i.e, the newspaper with the headline about lost spacemen- in the original Apes movie, Heston's crew are lost in a time warp, and return to a futuristic Earth ruled by Apes.

Oh you mean the one in the 60's? So where did Heston come from, Mars? :45:

Lol no dude, Heston's crew are lost in space via a time warp, they end up in a future Earth ruled by Apes. In other words, they travelled into the future.

Rise Of The Apes explains how the apes came to rule (humans are wiped out by the virus), so is a prequel to the original Heston movie.

Ides of march

loved it, had me interested through the end.. Gosling is a class actor

7.5/10

Just came back from watching The Dirty picture once again. Enjoyed it even though its the second time...Vidya Balan and dialogues are heart of the movie. Love track between Emraan Hashmi and Vidya worked very well inspite of vidya's character and tone of the movie..which otherwise would have spoilt the movie.

Movie collected 35 crores in first 3 days!!!Much more than some big releases this year...and this with film being rated "A" and so much adult content where families will not go!!

^ she did an excellent job, but the second half of the movie was a bit weak.

also disappointed with Emraan Hashmi's role, was under-utilised.

overall it was pretty good though, VB absolutely stole the show.

Watched Beta, not bad

also Kasak, the shittiest movie ever

The Girl That Kicked The Hornets Nest - (2010)

Decent ending to the trilogy where all the pieces are tied together. Strong all round performances and script was good. The film however was overlong and the introduction of so many characters did make some parts of it confusing to follow Better than the 2nd part, not as good as the 1st

8/10

Cant help but admire how talented and beautifull Sridevi is. Movie is Sridevi show all the way inspite of the precense of Sunny Deol and Rajnikanth.

Not even gona bother watching that lol

I watched it for the lols. Same reason I watched 300, 10,000 BC, Immortals.

There were a few, but not enough to eclipse how bad the movie was.

'We Are Family' 2010 (Kajol Devgan, Arjun Rampal, Kareena Kapoor

I won´t say too many negative things about it. Was an okay-ish family based film. Could have been slightly better with better direction.

The edge of heaven just finished watching this, amazing... a must watch

No one killed Jessica

A 5.5/10 on the story!

7.5 on Rani and Vidya's acting in this movie!

Movie was boring!

Warrior - Brilliant film, basic elements of Rocky but the cinematography, emotions and story blow that out of the water.

8.5/10

Erm Fifth Element (again lol...still a enjoyable film though) - 7.5/10

'Dushman' 1998 (Sanjay Dutt, Kajol Mukherjee/Devgan, Ashutosh Rana)

Was a pretty good film I must say despite some weak direction. I can hardly recollect a Bollywood film from the 1990s containing more brutality than this one.

Ashutosh Rana (plays the role of a habitual rapist) was awesome and was the soul of the film:14:. His work in a few films such as 'Sangharsh' (1999) and 'Kasoor' (2001) will last in my memories forever:14:.

A goof up: When Gokul (Ashutosh Rana) went to pick the young girl from her school pretending to be her uncle, why did she not recognize him having already seen him in the court?

I didnt like it.. coz Im a big fan of MMA .. been following it for 10 years now.. and that one punch KO hardly happens.. that Tom Hardy had. like in 1 match it's understandable.. but every match..come on now lol

also 5 Mill prize money is BS.. top MMA fighter receive like 300K a match like Anderson Silva.. in the end as a movie was ok not the best.. no where near Rocky

Crazy, Stupid Love

Middle portions are a bit dragged but a good watch overall. Solid performance from the ensemble cast. Steve Carell is great as usual. And I now see why the hype around Ryan Gosling. He is a good actor. Will try to watch his other new movies Drive and The Ides of March as well.

7.5/10

Directed by Asif Kapadia, this film is an absolute masterpiece. For anyone who wants to know why Senna is considered to be the greatest driver to have ever lived, watch this. For me, probably the greatest film of 2011.

'Chupke Chupke' 1975 (Dharmendra, Om Prakash, Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Jaya Bachchan)

What a fantastic comedy film from an era we do not expect much from watching films nowadays:14:. Dharmendra was hilarious:)) and truly overshadowed Amitabh Bachchan by all means.

The last 20 minutes or so were a touch boring as Amitabh Bachchan got a little annoying:boom:. But I am ready to forgive for such brilliant film:19:. Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore and Om Prakash were the soul of the film:14:.

A lesson for all current film-makers that you can make a great comedy film without being cheap and vulgar (with Khichdi (2010) being an exception).

The Devil's Double (thanks to the suggestion above)

7/10

Interesting movie, definitely worth a watch.

Note:

Although the director and the author of the book which the story is based on claim the movie to be based on a true story a lot of people have refuted the authors claim that he was Uday's body double and have labeled his claims as fabrication.

'Shikari' 2000 (Govinda, Karishma Kapoor, Tabu)

Could have been made better but the film-maker tried to include too many thing in one film, and as a result there were too many factual errors in it. Mostly it relied heavily on Govinda but even he over-acted a great deal.

4.5/10

Limitless - (2011) Thriller starring Bradley Cooper who finds a stash of tablets that enables the consumer to become highly intelligent ie use 100% of their brain rather than the normal 20% However with baddies also after him can he keep them and his life?

The main problem i have with this is that the script is very sub standard, eg sub plots and people are introduced and quickly forgotten about The film is all about cooper who plays his part well Its entertaining in patches but this couldve been a lot lot better

6/10

The Inbetweeners - (2011) A film on the channel 4 series, 4 teenagers finish school and go on holiday for booze, sun, sex, sea and sex with hilarious atttempts

Yes its silly and vulgar but this film is very entertaining. The british equivalent of American Pie Not to every1s taste but if you want a few laughs and nothing serious or mind blowing watch this Its really spot on how english teenagers have "fun"

8.5/10

'Naukar Biwi Ka' 1983 (Dharmendra, Pran, Qadir Khan, Om Prakash, Reena Roy)

It´s all about Dharmendra and his comedy:))! His fans cannot afford to give it a miss. Nothing special in it apart from him.

Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol - 5/10

dissappointed with Anil Kapoor's part, good actor shouldnt have taken this role and too much advertising of Dubai unnecessarily. Albeit stunts were fascinating storyline was boring

^ I thought it was brilliant, some incredible stunts.

Tom Cruise

^
You don't?

Tom-Cruise-31.jpg

The last movie I watched was Pride and Prejudice. Just felt like watching it again. Mr. Darcy  :blossom:

Once Upon A Time in America - holy s., 9.5/10, I don't remember seeing something like that since ages... the acting, the music, just everything was a spiritual pilgrimage towards perfection...

Robert de Niro.

And peoples were selling me the likes of Citizen Kane as the best movies ever...

Kung Fu Panda 2 - (2011) Po comes face to face with his past whilst he and the furious five are sent out to save a city from evil!

This is a good sequel to the original where theres more character development and we resolve po's mysterious beginning!

Not far behind the original 8/10
