Everything Must Go (2010) : A nice off-beat film. Will Ferrell is one of my favourite actors, it was good to see him in a different role.

The Orphanage - Great film An absolute treat of a scary film, suspenseful, creepy and a great story to boot

Excellent and a must watch

9.5/10

The Beat That Skipped My Heart - From the director of "A Prophet" This is a quality film and in my opinion as good as the prophet Great script, excellent performances and quality direction

Watch it

soundtrack was great i agree. atmoshphere was boring, plot was pointless, acting was very awkward actually.

'Agent Vinod' 2012 (Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Prem Chopra)

Mostly, I am not a fan of these conspiracy theory films and this was no exception:|. Poor script and story = time waste:boom:!

I will give it
1/10

..... and that one mark is for a couple of things: There were occasionally some funny scene featuring Saif Ali Khan, and they showed a Pakistani using the phrase "Tej baarish":)):))).

21 Jump Street was the comedy of the year so far! Excellent send-up of High School films and great pairing between Hill and Tatum (the latter deserves special praise). And with the best suprise cameo since last year's X-Men: First Class. In league with Anchorman/Dodgeball/Hot Rod.

Got free screening tickets for Cabin in the Woods on Tuesday which I am looking forward too.

And Drive is awesome. The mood, the music and the acting are on another level. Like a lost Michael Mann film from the 80s. Looking forward to the next colllaboration between the director and Gosling called 'Only God Forgives':

'Kahaani' 2012 (Vidya Balan)

What an amazing film which keeps you on your toes every little second:14:. Highly recommended:19:!

I will give it
9/10

Vidya Balan's Kahaani is in the 19th place in the top 50 thrillers of all time in Imdb... THE Best thriller done by Bollywood by miles..trailer in 2nd post of this page!!!Watch it..Vidya deserves more accolades for this than Dirty picture(which was good too)
The ending was pretty legit, out of nowhere.
came out of an angelina movie

http://www.naachgaana.com/2012/03/25/the-real-kahaani-revealed-is-kahaani-climax-plagiarised/

I don´t mind this plagiarism thing a great deal as long as it remains a good film. Sometimes one can just convert some brilliant film to another language. Heck, some film-makers are pathetic even at plagiarizing:facepalm:!

the acting was awkward on purpose imo, it was a very inhibited film, the acting protrayed the inability of the characters to say or do things due to certain constraints very well.

i felt that atmosphere too was deliberately constrained, run of the mill and inhibited to echo the relationships of the characters in the surroundings.

the plot was fairly uninspiring, that is true, but i thought the way the rest of the film was put together was interesting in its own strange way.

Yeah it was an amazing film...and about plagiagism..havent seen the jolie movie...but even only the ending is similar to Kahaani it seems....there are a million movies where endings are similiar...even if the director used the jolie movie..its still only the ending..and he still has done a great job through out the movie for the ending to click

Hunger games - ok film Some good scenes n jennifer looked and acted superbly but couldve been a lot better if the plot wasnt so predictable and cliched

6.5/10

The Usual Suspects - again. Still excellent, particularly Spacey of course. How John Ottman's editing didn't win the Oscar is quite beyond me

21 Jump Street - Anyone recommends it here? Friend wants to go see it, I don't really feel like it.

spacey is one of the most under rated actors going, or maybe thats just my perception since he doesn't covet media attention.

really liked him since glengary glen ross. has perfected middle aged guy weighed down by society type roles.

I love him in American Beauty, hedonistic, sympathetic anti-hero, but for me his best role is Seven - dominates the film despite being in it for 20 minutes! He is such a cool understated villain. Not sure he is underrated, moreso quiet like you say. He is known to be brilliant, won both Best Actor Oscars (Lead and Supporting)

Kevin Spacey's a genius, not on the level of a Marlon Brando or Paul Muni before, but not too far either, in the Harvey Keitel group, silent assassin, not mass favourite, though my favourite actor sill active remains Christopher Walken - his "watch monologue" in Pulp Fiction literally epitomize the sobriety of materialism with flair and finesse.

I'm also a Walken fan, this is acting!

Udaan - again.

easily the best bollywood film from the past few years

Ditto. I only see around one or two Bollywood films in a year so it has to be real good. Udaan was the last one I saw and it was brilliant. Recommended to all who just like great films.

Saw City of Life and Death - would very very highly recomend it to anyone with a fleeting interest in the sino-japanese theatre of the second world war. it does have however quite a few scenes which are adults only. It is based around the japanese atrocities during "the rape of nanjing", a thoroughly moving film. Also probably has the most hypnotic musical interlude of any film ive ever seen.

Was a great film:14:!

watched Udaan again, still the best ever

Wow

Am surprised quite a few of you have seen it! Hardly anyone has seen it, wish it got more coverage!

I think the best thing about this film was the casting. The dad especially.

It got a lot of coverage when it released....bagged a lot of awards too. Did financially very well as per the budget that was put in..fantastic movie....easily one of the very best bollywood has come up with....

Walken is amazing. And completely under-rated.

On the recommendation of my elder brother, I broke my drought of watching Bollywood movies - and saw Zindagi na milay gi dobara. Thought I'd give it a chance considering it was the same director as Dil Chahta Hai.

Decent movie. Well made, and different for a BW movie. Probably a bit too light-hearted for my liking but still good nonetheless.

watch Udaan, best of bollywood

Watched John carter of Mars and Wrath of the titans (both today)

Complete waste of time, money and life lol...John carter was ok'ish but WOTT was garbage..

Watched Wrath of the Titans ( 2D ).

Should be given a miss.

My rating : 2/10.

And the years most over hyped movie is...Cabin in the Woods! A missed opportunity of epic proportions!!

Forget any real irony or subversiveness; neither scary or funny, build up to a twist that is that isn't really a twist (I am sure they came up with that at the last minute) and an underwhelming ending with no point! Makes you appreciate Scream even more as to how to dissect the modern horror movie and remain scary and funny at the same time.

Was expecting more from Joss Whedon so here's hoping The Avengers doesn't suck (as the Yanks would say).

And if you have the urge to see a film about a cabin in the woods and have already seen The Evil Dead, go rent the little seen but wonderful Tucker & Dale vs Evil...

Wrath of Titans ...

4/10

watched it online hehe.. good thing didn't go to cinema for this torture

The downfall of berlin / A woman in berlin

German film about the mass rape of german females by soviet soldiers in 1945 based on a true story, decent film well made and acted.

7/10

'Azaan' 2011

A lame attempt at film-making:boom:!!! It had a Pakistani actor in it, Sajid Hassan, who could be a good actor but the film didn´t offer much really. I know about his skills having seen him in Pakistani TV serials.

Deserves 0/10.

Watched Dookudu with subtitle. The best action film I saw since WANTED(sallu bhai).Sure will be remade in hindi.
7/10

The three burials of melquiades estrada

Drive. Dumb and pointless movie.

Snoozefest springs to mind...

You guys serious?? 'Drive' was one of the most aesthetically eye pleasing movie done with style and suave. Every scene is lush and gorgeous. That pawn shop robbery scene, the elevator scene with Ryan & Carey....Wow! This was not a thriller so ending was obvious but it was done to reinforce the idea that he's a "driver" and symbolically a drifter. This is not your clichéd hollywood action movie. Cinematography was top notch...showed LA in a different light altogether. Most of Ryan Gosling's dialogue's are through his eyes

Papillon - Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman at their best. How this film did not win an Oscar is beyond me!

I am waiting for this movie because its Director is Priya Darshan, one of the few finest Directors in Bollywood.

watched in time

not bad for a one time watch... screenplay could have been better given the out of box concept

Housefull - 2 ...Exactly what I expected ..a brainless typical Sajid Khan bollywood masala which even a person with IQ of 20 will feel insulted with the logic.

However...I dont mind masala bollywood...so enjoyed it here and there...there were some funny parts..

Over all 5/10... Loved Shazahn Padamsee in the movie..she was so cute  ..should have got more time in the movie.....although she did two films in Tamil and Telugu after...suprised she did not get much bollywood movies after Rocket Singh and Dil to Bacha hai ji..

Was it an anti-Islam movie? Heard it was...

Jodi Breakers

Has to be one of the worst Bollywood movies. Utter rubbish.

-5/10. :))

The Devil Inside

3/10

Seriously a rubbish horror movie. The trailers build it up to something it is not. Do not waste your money to watch this.

Crazy stupid love.. What can I say..

Absolute mindless and it has no proper ending..too precise or thin in my view..wasted 2 hours watching it..

Suggest me a good movie of 2012 so that I can watch ..

American Reunion

not bad, better than part 3 in the series, was kinda funny..

6.5/10

The sitter - meh 5/10 just for having jonah hill

MI Ghost Protocol- 8/10 pretty good, just as i expected.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - 9/10

Great movie with a lot of intense and entertaining scenes. Hated the ending though.

Exam

Initially wanted to watch it for just 20 minutes so I could get back to studying. But the movie turned out to be so gripping that I actually watched it on the trott 1 hr 42 mins. Thrilling stuff for a low-budget movie.

9/10

Weird, I just watched The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo as well (the swiss version)

I would give it 9/10 too, good movie.

Also watched Contagion - movie was meh, just wanted to see it because of Matt Damon

'Titanic' 1997 in 3D

'Titanic' 1997 in 3D (Kate Winslet, Leonardo DiCaprio)

Watched my first ever 3D film which was and only the third in a cinema (others being German films).

Well, I can only say one thing- "Love can touch us one time and last for a lifetime", and its love has surely touched me and is having an everlasting effect, like on many of this film´s fan as even today I saw a few people crying in the hall. It is not a film; it is an experience.

As a side note, my heartfelt condolences to the survivors of those who died in that tragedy:53:. I planned to watch it especially today (14th April 2012) when it has been exactly 100 years when the RMS Titanic hit the iceberg.

Thank you James Cameron for your hard work:14:.

My overall review:

'Titanic' 1997

Watched it back then in my childhood days but hardly remembered anything...... Well, it was an excellent movie (one of the best I ever seen) and was a very sad one as well:(. The love story, though totally fictious, was doubtlessly the best I have ever seen. The thing that stands out in this is the chemistry between the couple in my opinion. They were just mindless of the things going around them and all the fear etc., and they went on as if simply looking into each others´ eyes.

It should not at all be criticized for not being historically accurate, as for that you better watch a documentary film. They had to put up a build-up to the disaster that it was.

As a side note, heartfelt condolences to those who lost their beloved ones:53:.

Before anyone points to an error like my friend did via an email, it hit the iceberg today but sank the next day after midnight:).
