The orphanage - (spanish film) Lady moves into her old orphanage and her son starts talking to an "imaginary friend", was pretty good- 8/10

The descent- really liked the claustrophobic feel at times while they are in the caves- 8/10

Has anyone seen The Man From Earth? Saw it recently and absolutely loved it. If you look movies that are full of conversation in a closed space this will be one of your favorites.

SOTY :- Everything that is wrong with Indian cinema. Painful to go through

Argo :- Brilliant

Looper :- Very good. Could have been great

The boy in the striped pyjamas - Very poignant movie although slightly historically incorrect.

8/10

'The Year of Living Dangerously'

1982 flick starring Mel Gibson as an Aussie journalist during the final days of Sukarno...good movie...really captures the feel of the time...anyone interested in the final days of Sukarno's regime will find this interesting as it explores the views of all sides of the conflict...not partisan and well worth a watch...

Attack Of The Werewolves

Spanish comedy/horror- well worth the watch :)

Killer Joe

This movie is ADULTS ONLY and that too those with a strong stomach. For 1 hour, its twisted ribald fun but last half hour is truly disturbing stuff. One scene in particular worked my gag reflex like no other movie has ever done. Matthew McConaughey is terrifying as the psychopathic killer. Funny scary twisted. Please don't eat chicken after watching this one!

Rating-7.5/10

Watched this tonight...it was a good dark comedy noir...lol that is one dysfunctional family...

SPOILER

I didn't find the chicken scene disturbing but that is a novel way to degrade someone...Sharla was certainly the scummiest character in the film...

The most jokes part is Ansel holding Chris's legs down and telling Joe to kill him...Ansel's character was brilliant generally...

^^
the rape wasnt just disgusting. it was that joe seemed to get off on it. plus, the way others just got stockholmed into accepting him. that was some disturbing crap right there.

And Thomas Haden Church was hilarious in a dry quirky way.

Lol yeah...his climaxing made it that much more sick...I don't think it was stockholming other than Dottie...the others were just self serving throughout...did feel sorry for Chris at the end considering he was the only one who had any redeeming qualities...

Haden Church was brilliant...his reactions when Sharla was getting her beatdown were classic...and then the grab the legs scene was hilarious too...

Yeah Chris went from a self-serving dirtbag to a protective big brother. But unfortunately he was far too dumb and his family was as messed up as it could get.

Been hanging for Killer Joe for a long time now. Just doesn't seem to be getting released in Australia for some reason

Warrior (2011)

One of the best ive seen in some time now. Great performance by Tom Hardy.

9/10

Watched 'Killing Them Softly', it was a strange film, really slow at parts and otherwise brilliant moments there as well. It's about the economic meltdown at the very top and very bottom of the American society. Overall kinda liked it 8.5/10
Brad Pitt was entertaining as a hitman.

Those two violent scenes with Ray Liotta were brilliantly brutal.

Macabre 2009

Indonesian gorefest...it follows a typical formula...some of the acting is terrible and some scenes are overdone but this film is a lot of fun...don't think i've seen a film with this much gore...for fans of blood, chainsaws and flying heads this is well worth a watch...

The Hole - 6/10

scary and has great suspense but ending was pretty disappointing.

Sliding Doors : 6/10

An interesting romantic movie that depicts the "What could have been" and the luck factor involved in our lives. Staring Gwyneth this pseudo-predictable movie ends with a slight twist in the end making the wait worth it.

Paranormal Activity 3
7/10

Decently creepy. Characters do extraordinarily stupid things  and refuse to believe in the supernatural even when THERE IS PROOF!!! Last half hour is highly entertaining. Especially the scene with the white sheet.

If you didnt like part 1, dont bother.

Recently saw 'ARGO' starring Ben Affleck, Bryan Cranston(Breaking Bad) and directed by Ben Affleck. Story set in the 80s when secret American-Canadian mission was green lighted to free American prisoners in Iran. Superb movie, superb acting.... highly recommended. It's an intelligent movie so a little bit of thinking required. Definitely Oscars worthy!

I thought first 3 were good.. But the 4th ain't all that (from the reviews at least) . I can't say anything personally as I haven't seen the fourth part yet But 3 was Def. The best out of the lot if not the second best after the first part.

Paranormal Activity 4- enjoyed it.

The whole series has been consistently good/scary. Part 5 has already been announced lol.

Also Attack Of The Werewolves is a very good Spanish comedy/horror. Check it out.

Torrented it :asif

Ben Affleck is a great director. His previous movie as a director/actor "The Town" is also a very well directed and intelligent movie.

"Safe" (2012)

Starrring jason statham Theres nothing really going for this film.

nonsense script, its full of B grade actors, theres no emotional connection or character development and the dialogue is atrocious

Give it a miss

1/5

Watched Paranormal Activity 4.

Absolutely awful. Storyline is pathetic, the film itself is not scary at all and just drags on and on.

2/10

Also watched a film called Straw Dogs last night, enjoyed it. 7/10

Cloud Atlas....

OMG...The sheer scale of the movie is astounding.....Stories are so linked together...no wonder people have said it is a unfilmable novel. I have to say they have really succeded....I kinda felt lost in the middle but Everything makes sense at the end.

Tom Hanks --- WHAT AN ACTOR!!!!!!!

Halle Berry, Hugh Grant...and all the other major characters were just brilliant. All of them play 5 to 6 characters...and It is just isane every one of them pulled it of so well.....There are places where you detest and love different characters by the same person..apprearing 30 seconds after each other....

Brilliant Movie...Just go for it. I am Glad I chose the movie....I actually went to see Chakravyuh....but then I saw lot of people in the line buying the tickets for cloud atlas...and decided to go the movie in the last minute...I am glad I did...

Rating: 9/10

Good to see Saj taking some time off from PP:zaka.

Saw 'Cloud Atlas' today. One word: EPIC

Running time: 2 hr 44 mins

Each actor played several different roles. Hats off to the Wachowski brothers for pulling this off. I'm glad they didn't follow the same sequence as the book otherwise it would've been boring. Highly recommended! This is not just a movie but a work of art !! Tom Hanks & Halle Berry's oscar winning performance!

Wouldn't lie but Halle Berry looked pretty hot in a Sari :P

Some of you would recognize the Korean actress from 'The Host' & 'Sympathy Mr. Vengeance'

Yesterday, i saw Skyfall and Taken 2.
Taken 2 was good but wasn't as good as the first film. 7/10
I enjoyed skyfall. we saw a different kind of bond from his earlier movies. Craig was a bit more human. 8/10

Watched some good movies of late...

The Town.

An unexpected performance by Ben Affleck in front and behind the camera...didn't know Charleston was an epicentre for robbery...if you enjoyed Heat then you should enjoy this...

Drive

Enjoyed this too...a nice take on an overdone genre and I enjoyed the soundtrack too...good little crime flick and Gosling excels...

Memento

Been a while since I seen this...brilliant movie...a story told backwards with a man on the surface looking to discover who killed his wife...a lot of good twists and the short term memory angle is told very well...Nolan never puts a foot wrong...

Lincoln Lawyer

Good courtroom thriller...Matthew McConnaughey has a mixed career but this is one of his better performances...he plays a lawyer who ends up defending a rich guy accused of murdering a prostitute...a lot of twists and turns...imo could have finished a little earlier but still worth a watch...

Lockout - 7/10. Guy Pearce charachter is very funny.

Can anyone recommend any good Sci-Fi movies..Hollywood only.

Skyfall- left the cinema very disappointed. Vastly hyped/over-rated.

Great before the credits- the rest was pretty average. Weak villain, weak story...the ending was just
It just ain't Bond.

If you like Bollywood movies, you may enjoy this.

4/10

Watched 'Titanic' 1997 once again for the zillionth time. Don´t know why:13:.....?

Good to see Saj taking some time off from PP:zaka.

haha thanks.

Watched Taken 2

Absolute garbage in my opinion.

The first one was ok, but the second one is so far fetched. Poor story line also.

3/10

Titanic is one of the over rated movies ever, it's so gay like a bollywood movie(no offense to gays) :zardari

TED

A comedy with liberal use of bad words. Good entertainment, one to watch with friends.

Looper

Amazing concept though has some loops in the plot. This is a human emotion driven sci-fi flick.

The Watch

A wacky sci-fi comedy, could have been better. Had few laughs, good to watch with buddies.

haha thanks.

That means I should not give it a go.....:13:?

You worry me

I knew Saqib will write this:amir.

Come on mate:facepalm:!

'Chakravyuh' 2012 (Arjun Rampal, Abhey Deol, Manoj Bajpai)

Prakash Jha is of my favourite directors and this film was no different. It was good, very good:14:.

Look, I seriously don´t know about this Naxalites issue in India and who is right or wrong, but the film was good and deserved to earn a lot more than these Karan Johar´s garbage films:boom:.

I will give it
7.8/10.

I watched Paranormal Activity 4 in theatres first day first show on a friend's insistence. Didn't find it scary at all but it was funny hearing all the women scream in the theatre.

I haven't watched a decent Bollywood movie in ages. However, looking forward to Yash Chopra's last film.

'Son Of Sardaar' 2012 (Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Juhi Chawla)

Look, I was looking for some comedy and laughter and I got it, which is enough for me:)). Was not the greatest either though.

I watched "Chakravyuh".

Nice story about Naxalism in Indian eastern states. A good start but disappointed with second half when suddenly it was too much bollywood.

It went little away from reality in the second half as I expected Prakash Jha's movie to be closer to reality.

Yes, as I mentioned in my other post, It was nice but the seond half was little bit dramatised.

They could have found a different way of Abhay Deol's change in heart than joining the Naxals straight. That was little over the top.

Good point. It could have been better in that regard.

Watched Jab Tak Hai Jaan which has to be one of the worst Bollywood films ever made.

I have a lot of respect for the late Yash Chopra, but this film was awful.

The storyline was terrible and so far fetched even by Bollywwod standards.

2/10

So true bro, a totally absurd movie.

I saw Jab Tak Hai Jaan last night. I thought it was average. Main problem is the story not being believable.
The 2 actresses in the film are terrible - one looked out of her depth while the other was over doing it so much it got annoying.

Yeah i didnt like it as much as i loved Rajneeti. Not epic enough material coming from an epic fil maker.

jab tak hai jaan 6/10 mostly for the cinematography and the yash chopra flourishes,, the story /screenplay was pretty weak. SRK was good in the older section.anushka seems to be playing the same spunky punjabi chick in every movie. kat looked good, thats about all.

Barfi! (Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Ileana D'Cruz)

A film that expresses a lot without words!

A wonderfully wonderful film, a brilliantly brilliant film:14:!

Have always been a huge fan of Anurag Basu, the director, and he was the only reason what pushed me to watch it.

The length of the film was the only problem but it is also understandable that a lot of things required explanations since the main character was shown to be one who could not speak.

Some people may not understand much and may turn it off half way through, but it had got me stuck to it at least:).

Lastly, good to see Bollywood finally making a good film after such a long time:19:.
*Just to add to it*

The occasional comedy was funny without a word; it was also emotional without a tear.

Just watched it again. How impatiently I waited for it to be out on DVD is something only I can tell.

To add to the review above, please allow me to say: "The greatest Bollywood film ever!" I am not in any mood to debate this.

This film´s IMDB page (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2082197/) says.....

"Three young people learn that love can neither be defined nor contained by society's norms of normal and abnormal."

There is not a better description than this:)! Not a film but poetry:bow:!
