The new joker jared leto is a very good method actor. I think he has done a good job but the movie wasn't about him in the first place. His role was very small. Maybe in the next movie we can see what he is capable of.

Maybe but imo he fell wayy short of Ledger and Jack Nicholson also the movie was a screw up.

Ledger took it to another level. Everyone has accepted him as the only joker that ever lived. Even more than Jack nicholson who was phenomenal.

I know its hard but we should try to forget how ledger and nicholson did it and see jared in isolation.

I agree the movie wasn't that good at all. Seems only Nolan can do it correctly.

I think Joker's gf role was done pretty well,and its not only about direction but they are screwing up the writing as well,plus terrible terrible use of CGI honestly its frustrating to get "repelled by Movie DC universe" considering Marvel Universe is so well "rounded" now.

Yeah i think civil war was much better. Suicide squad had no story at all. Pretty pointless and directionless movie made as a premise for future DC movies. Even BvS was lame. Compare these to Nolan's trilogy which were terrific.

Suicide Squad was edited by people that edit trailers lol. WB/DC have messed up the DC Universe movies.

Having said that, I found Suicide Squad far more entertaining than the bland BvS.

Jared did a decent job with his incarnation but it's unfair to level any criticism be it positive or negative at him when he wasn't even in the film!you could probably time his screen time, after all that hype his appearance was glorified cameo.

And definitely, there have been other Jokers to and each were of a different type and excellent in their own type.

Saw the first 20 minutes of Creed last night, will watch the rest later today. Seems like a good movie, though I feel like they're rushing through the storyline.

Good actor. Have you seen Requiem for a dream? It's his best movie and performance. Suicide squad is trash though and his joker was rubbish. Only idiots actually hyped it up

Ah yes , Requiem for a dream. Its a cult movie.

But i think its just one of his good works. Have you watched Dallas buyer's club?? Jared and matthew mcconaughey have killed it. I think its jared's best work.

His joker is fine imo. The problem was that the movie wasn't about him.
 
Dangal 8/10 very well acted and Haryana shown nicely,looks like a decade of Women empowerment coming up.

Dangal is anything but woman empowerment.

How is it any different to a husband telling wife what to do or not. In this movie a father forces his daughters into wrestling because well he wanted a son and didnt get so he had to make his daughters go through humiliation and inhumane workout regime for kids that age.

The justification they gave was even worse, I mean you either get married at 13 or resign your life to your fathers dream.

The movie was well made, actors did a great job but its not women empowerment.

Actually I thought the same initially and then just recalled information that in the movie he asks his wife 1 year and only in case they show any promise would he continue which happens as his daughters start winning locally which imo is great,isn't the push from parents required ,even young footballers at that age are put into academies if they show any promise.
 
La La Land - 8.5/10

Fantastic movie and it is very likely to be nominated for the Oscar's. Cinematography and visuals are top notch. Very artistic. The movie is very real and something I could relate. We all do from time to time go into a La La Land. Only flaw is it is quite slow and at times not engaging.

Some funny parts in it but overall not very good.

Certainly not one of Stiller's best films

A must watch for any fans of either 28 Days Later or The Last of Us. An excellent film well worth a look.

Dangal was very good. Amir Khan doesn't get the fame and publicity that Salman and Shahrukh get but still has the best movies.

Mad Max Fury Road was the best mainstream hollywood movie of 2015 & one of the greatest action movies in the last 10-15 years.

Sad that it didn't rake in that much at the Box Office. Run of the mill franchise flicks like Fast 7 get to rake in a billion dollars with their Mediocre plots, overblown CGI and truckload of famous faces, while one of the most groundbreaking and inventive action movies in a long time (with proper car chases & real stunts ) made less than 400 million $:137:

Agree. Amir Khan is Mr. Perfectionist.
Salman and Shahrukh movies are not really worth the hype they generate; but Amir Khan movies belong to a different class altogether

Yeah :)) Who'd have though everything in that movie would come true today with Trump as president lmao amazing movie though, tends to fall under the radar

Have you seen Fargo (released in 1996) ? that's a good movie with dark humour

Don't worry Sandy! am pretty sure there will be a couple of sequels, I believe the movie surpassed the expectations of the producers when it came to the box office and with a better advertising campaign it should perform even better. One of the driving forces for it to have made as much as it did was due to the critical acclaim and most of the hardcore movie lovers watched it twice. However, for it to resonate with the casuals I think a better advertising campaign will be needed and the hype created from the 1st movie will help their cause to
 
Arrival was a pretty good watch.

Also they portrayed Pakistan in a good light. So that was an added benefit :srt

I had not watched it but that spoiler was too tempting I only read the first bit with regards to the site location but not the rest :)) been wanting to watch the movie for a while, use to be a fan of the X-files and alien based movies/shows

It was okay. And better than most horror movies i have watched this year. Nice build up too. Some scenes were cringe worthy though.
 
Finally got a chance to watch The Dallas Buyers Club..and WOW what a movie and performance by Matthew Mcconaughey. Can't believe it took me 2 years to finally watch this gem...deff a great one.
 
Watched dangal yesterday was pretty good enjoyed it from start to end.. if anyone hasn't watched it would recommend to give it a try.. The wrestling matches they have showed are not 10-15 sec clips but rather seems like the entire match... good stuff kudos to that actress who learnt about wrestling..

Why dont Indian film makers try to make movies using Indian comics characters like motu patlu, chacha chowdhary and others?
But these movies should be made on an intense and serious style ALA dark knight rather than comedy or other light hearted genre. I think this thing will attract a lot of fans in this part of the world.

True but all the filmmakers(current ones) are urban and have no idea about most of Indian comics,don't think they even took train to stations a place where most of these comics are sold,that's the reason for massive divide between Indian urban and rural audience as both find themselves alienated from each other.

There are very few pan Indian movies and mostly Amir or at times Akshay act in them,the trailer above could had been a good bollywood movie but no these guys make trash like Krrish (copying ET,Superman) or flying Jatt(copying superman).

Dibakar Banerjee tried to create Detective Byomkesh Bakshi with awesome music and imo it was very good,but it bombed at boxoffice and there won't be a sequel.

I've only read one Indian comic in particular but it's not PG, it's not PG :))) I think it's probably one which you've read as well. Am out of touch with Indian movies these days, the last one I watched was Mary Kom but that was only because I had high expectations with it being a biopic and huge fan of boxing who had followed Mary's career and it was absolutely excellent

1) La La Land (I'd classify it as a romantic comedy. Had some funny moments. Best ever made)
2) Groundhog Day
3) Amelie
4) 500 Days of Summer
5) Forgetting Sarah Marshall/Knocked up/Crazy Stupid Love

Not gonna lie its my least favourite genre after musical. Goes to show how great La La Land was that its both a romantic comedy and a musical yet I have it at number 1.

Did you watch La La Land in the cinema? I can't go to the theatre anytime soon plus I rarely watch Romantic genre movies in the theatre unless I have a lady friend with me lol

I've seen Crazy, Stupid Love, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and 500 Days of Summer (excellent) both were enjoyable.

Have you seen Midnight in Paris, Ruby Sparks and the F word? they are decent to. Yeah it's because with this genre and musical you're rarely going to find 10/10 movies but it's still a bit of a guilty pleasure for me.

I've avoided seeing the Notebook because the narrative seems too cliche but then again that's pretty much every movie in the genre isn't it.

La La Land is one I've been wanting to watch for a while but my hands are tied at the moment, will check out Amelie or Groundhog Day for now

La la land is phenomenal. Saw it in the cinema twice. You gotta watch Amelie and Groundhog Day. The notebook is good but it's just romance

:))) I swear haven't read it,dunno maybe long ago, Mary Kom was good but they chose a bollywood glam girl to play the role,get it commercial and all but Mary has North EAstern looks,also Manipuris are massively into Boxing no idea why.

I just kinda bumped into it unexpectedly lmao Priyanka did a fantastic job though, it was her best performance ever; there are positives and negatives to the lead not being north eastern but her story which was an important one in the grand scheme of things on a national level got a lot of exposure thanks to a high profile lead as well. Had amateur boxing made it to the olympics during the early 2000's Mary would have 2-3 Olympic Gold medals, past her prime still managed to get a bronze; the movie was planned long before her bronze medal Olympic win so they didn't cover that aspect but mainly her record breaking world championship wins

It's a great tale of love you have to watch it, it's basically like Kal Ho na Ho but hollywood version :yk2 [MENTION=137142]JaDed[/MENTION]
 
The Titanic, Leo and Kate have become a bit of a stereotype when it comes to the ship, am surprised we've not seen a high profile thriller during modern times based on the tragedy

Seen four movies in the last fortnight...

Room...
Movie about a woman held hostage in a shed with her child...I wanted to like it more than I did...the premise was really good and the first half was...it just got a little boring in the second half...

Green Room...
Jeremy Saulnier is a fantastic director...I thought Blue Ruin was a fantastic thriller but this one surpasses it...if you love thrillers you will love this...

Another superb thriller...some thieves try to rob the house of a blind war veteran...and it really isn't that simple...tension filled and some excellent twists and turns...

About Mossad's revenge for the events at the Munich Olympics...very highly regarded movie but I thought it was OK...I found it all a bit contrived and the dialogue was unnatural...I think though as a movie watcher I have an issue with movies where the language being used isn't the one that would be used in a normal setting...if the characters were speaking Hebrew instead of communicating solely in English then it would have created more of a connection...

I got so emotional during this movie. I almost cried. Almost. Have a lump in my throat while writing this.

Some others. The Truman Show, A walk to remember, One flew over the cuckoo's nest, Big Fish. The fault in our stars, V for Vendetta, American Beauty.

But the best is the black and white. Casablanca, Witness for the prosecution, Harvey, To kill a mocking bird. Any one who likes a good drama should watch these movies.
