SandyB I've not watched WonderWoman yet but the reviews have been positive, have you seen the movie yet mate? do DC finally get their formula on point or did they just recycle what already works in terms of what Marvel are doing? any unique flavour?
shaz619 It actually felt like Captian America - The 1st Avenger on steroids.
Still it feels distinctively DC. WW is absolutely iconic, to a level only a few in Marvel (Wolverine and Spidey maybe) can match .So DC only had to ensure they transferred the comic book awsomeness undiluted on screen . In that they succeeded , and how !
The thing you like about this is that for a movie that had such low expectations - Gal's casting, A woman directing the action, DC studio interference which messed up the past 2 films, THIS FILM NAILS EVERYTHING . The climatic battle is the only palce where you feel the movie goes below - GOOD ..! That I feel was forced by the studios.
I'm buoyed by finally seeing WW done right on screen, but they got so many things right and RETAINED THE SPIRIT of WW, unlike what happened with MoS.
And Gal Owns the role like RDJ did Iron Man. !
Must watch TBH ! You genuinely feel for the hero in this feel, it has an emotional connect which you can't explain by pure filmmaking craft alone. Logan is by far this year's greatest hero film, while Logan dismantled everything we knew of Superhero films, but WW actually takes the template of a typical Origin story , and makes probably one of the best version of it (like Batman Begins).

, looking forward to Spiderman and Defenders, the Thor in october. Somehow I ve completely become a Marvel guy now atleast interms of movies and series.
however it's awesome to own the physical stuff as well and you tend to get extra goodies as well at times
anyhow a fresh face can also breath a lot of life into a potential franchise given how we're already so familiar with Stone, Scarlett and Jovovich; they are also slightly older; then again Kate Beckinsale is still firing on all cylinders
but the point stands with regards to a fresh face breathing life into a movie, anyhow they could have gambled with Stone plus I don't think she has made many sci-fi movies, you could look at that two ways, where she fulfils that role of being a fresh face for Valerian movies or someone who cant outlive Romantic Comedy's which is why they've gone with Cara ultimately.
I could read the graphic novel before hand but I think I will leave it? movie experience in itself could be more unique.
it was quiet the experience, have never seen anything quiet like it even now!
