What's new

What will you remember PPers for when they stop posting/retire?

I will remember @RedwoodOriginal for being the guy that always ended becoming a casualty of war or ended up taking hits during crossfires in debates

I was gonna say I'd remember Mamoon and Devad for XXXX, but then I realised I couldn't care less :vk2
Jokes aside I honestly dont know who I'd remember.

I use to be on discord and reddit 5 years before PP and believed I'd never forget them but I forgot all of em 5 years later, and im sure they have forgotten me by now, that's life.

But I think I'll remember @Rana And @sweep_shot the most. Followed by anyone who wrote positivity on the intro forumn such as @RidiculousMan @Major @shaz619 And many others(can't name all of em atm, as list would be extensive)

The rest I'm not too sure, as their posters that I respect alot but lack comments or interactions and I'm assuming 10-30 years would be a brutally long time assuming I was to stop posting and give myself that tine frame.

I don't even remember any of my school teachers, irl uni friends either except for 1-2 but thats cause they still keep coming to eat for free at my house.

Thanks.

I will remember you too in sha Allah. I also have you added on Lichess and Chess.com. :inti

I lost touch with majority of my school friends. I am only in touch with 3-4.

I see.

I also don't know 3 of my first cousins. They live in Bangladesh. I have never met them and we have never talked. I also don't know their names or what they look like.

I have 12 first cousins. Out of those 12, I am only in touch with 1. LOL. Rest I barely see or talk with (1 is dead).

I may remember most Indian posters as obnoxious pests.

I may remember James as an English gentleman.

I may remember many of the Pakistani posters here as cool people.

I may remember Saj as a successful businessman and a visionary.

I am likely to remember @BunnyRabbit, @KingKhanWC, @Ronaldo7, @LordJames, @Suleiman, and @Justcrazy for Islamic discussions.

I am likely to remember @mominsaigol, @Rana etc. for cricket discussions.

I am likely to remember @JaDed for many disagreements but also for good discussions on AI thread.

I am likely to remember @RedwoodOriginal, @shaz619, @BunnyRabbit, @Suleiman, @Bhaag Viru Bhaag, and @mominsaigol for pro-wrestling discussions.

I am likely to remember @Bhaag Viru Bhaag as the most sensible Indian poster.

I am likely to remember @jamie smith fan as the youngest PP poster.

I am likely to remember Mohraheem as the biggest Ifti-hater.

I am likely to remember Black Zero (no longer posts) as the biggest Shoaib Malik fan.

I am likely to remember Oxy as the Viv Richards of PP.

I am likely to remember @DeadlyVenom as a cool guy.

My cousin passed away last week as well, I too have 12 cousins on my dad’s side of the family, my cousin who has passed was one of em.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun.

My cousin died in 1999. She possibly committed suicide after doing poorly in exams.

@shaz619 My brother in crisps, the guy who reignited my love for pro wrestling, and brought back a lapsed fan five years ago.

@BunnyRabbit @Suleiman My bros and pro-wrestling kindred spirits. The four of us are watching pro-wrestling live one day...even if it's a match between two deathmatch mutants bashing each other with tubelights in a barn infront of 20 people

@Nikhil_cric @Markhor Two of the smartest and most knowledgeable posters on this forum when it comes to cricket.

Every single poster on this forum is dear to me. If time and energy allowed, I could write a heartfelt paragraph about each one of them. I can recall nearly a hundred posters vividly. While my level of engagement and style of interaction might vary with each individual and vice versa — I’ve never felt annoyed or sensitive toward anyone here. I’m someone who reflects deeply and holds strong opinions, and I truly respect that same quality in others. So even when someone comes at me strongly, I don’t take it personally. I might disagree in the moment, but I always remain empathetic to their perspective.

Hatred simply isn’t in my nature. Interestingly, the ones I’ve had the most intense debates with are often the ones closest to my heart, perhaps because I see a bit of myself in them. I hold great respect for those who stand firmly and passionately for what they believe in. I do the same for my country and my culture, and I’ll never shy away from defending them. If I see that same fierce love in a Pakistani, I have no problem with it. I just follow one rule: don’t insult someone’s religious beliefs, and don’t make personal attacks. Those who cross that line might irk me momentarily, but I have a short memory for such things. Give me a day or two and it fades. That’s just how I’m built , I can’t hold on to hate. It usually vents immediately as anger and then leaves my system.

When I first ventured into online forums, I explored some Indian-dominated spaces where the few Pakistani voices that appeared especially if they were opinionated were often met with hostility and abuse. I’ve never enjoyed that kind of bullying, whether online or offline. That’s when I came across PP ,a space where I expected to be a minority. But kudos to Saj and MIG bhai for fostering an environment where everyone could feel respected and heard. Their warmth and vision made all the difference.

No individual or institution is perfect — nor is PP. But if it weren’t for the passion and dedication of a few cricket-loving individuals who keep this place alive, we wouldn’t have this space at all. Two decades and counting , that’s a phenomenal achievement. I wish this forum many more decades of spirited discussions and camaraderie. Even after retirement, I’ll surely still be lurking around.

I first came to PP in either 2009 or 2010. I was mostly a lurker during those days. I started to post from 2019 WC. Since then, I have posted close to 47000 posts here.

So, I have experienced at least 3 eras on PP. I consider 2009 to 2016 as one era, 2016 to 2024 as one era, and 2024-present as one era.

I think current era should be my last era. If this era is finished (i.e., current active posters retire), I may retire also. :inti

Thank you for the kind words. I always look forward to your posts too.

Hopefully I dont get yeeted for this 💀💀💀.

But imo, I think current era of PP is the 2nd last era. The era after this 2035-2045 will be the end of the road.

I may be wrong, as every single forumn from 2000's except 2-3 have been swallowed up due to the rise of Reddit, FB, Tiktok, Instagram, Discord, Twitter etc etc and more and more social platforms will eventually come probably more Ai based.

The other issue is the ageing users. Many Og's on this forumn are 60+ now.

I think I'm one of the youngest here, with Jamie smith fan being the definitive youngest but their a lack of Gen Z's on this thread and I believe they Gen Alpha ratio will be zero.

I'd love to be proven wrong however, Ik for a fact that it's very likely that 2031 is also the end of the road for me. By 2040's the Internet will be a vastly different place.

But who knows, PP did adapt to this modern era extremely well. Changing the layout, adding reaction scores, as well as posting and updating users on other platforms more frequently then ever before.

Time will tell.

Theirs also the fact that i dont see cricket making it till 2050. It'll be a completly different game by then and it wont resonate with current era for obvious reasons

For me, this should be the final era. I am now 34.

If current guys (including you) stop posting, I may call it a day also.

Don't think I will be hanging out with Gen Alpha because I wil be too old for them. I am a millennial. :inti

LOL... I understand your pain... Nobody mentioned me either.. SAD :(
Tbh I will remember you as a kind hearted man. Very level headed, patient and mature as well.

Although like I said I cant remember everyone. Literally have forgotten so many people over decades in my life, its what happens when years and years pass.

I see not one word has been said about me..

But thats ok as I know most you are either religious or PTI haters so even mentioning Immy and 69 in one sentence would go against your principals...
We don't have much of an interaction but you're an OG and a good poster in my eyes, will do my best to remember you as well.

I'll put you in the OG bracket aka posters from 2000's era
