Pakistani fans face 'tough' visa rules for CT 2025 India match in Dubai

Pakistani fans wishing to travel to Dubai are unlikely to benefit from relaxed visa policies.

Those who have previously visited Dubai are more likely to be granted visas, and ticket purchases along with travel history will be considered for visa approval, Express News reported.

While tickets for the event are expected to go on sale next week, reports confirm that free passes will not be available this time around.

According to sources, only those who purchase tickets will be allowed to attend the matches.

Additionally, all tickets will be sold online, as per the International Cricket Council (ICC) guidelines, and no physical ticket booths will be set up.

Ticket prices have been revealed, with the cheapest ticket priced at approximately Rs1,000. The most expensive tickets will range between Rs25,000 and Rs30,000, with the prices for the Pakistan-India match expected to be on the higher end.

Final pricing for these tickets will be confirmed in the coming days.

The first round of group stage tickets will be available for purchase first, with tickets for the semi-finals and finals to be sold later.

Moreover, a joint press conference with the captains of all participating teams for the ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to take place in Pakistan on either February 16 or 17, according to sources from the PCB.

As per PCB sources, a formal letter has been sent to the ICC, requesting that, as per protocol, all team captains gather in the host country prior to the start of the ICC event.

During this press conference, captains will discuss their preparations for the tournament.

The captains of all teams, including India’s Rohit Sharma, are expected to attend the press conference, which will be scheduled by the ICC a few days before the official start of the tournament on February 19.

It is the responsibility of the host board to provide visas to all players, officials, media, sponsors, and fans, including the Indian contingent.

As in previous tours, three Indian players were among those who received visas to visit Pakistan for scheduled events in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi.

The PCB will continue to handle visa arrangements for any individuals who require them.

Once the ICC announces the schedule for warm-up matches, the final date for the captains’ press conference will also be confirmed.

@HitWicket see here every country has own Visa policy and people's have to follow that .

Pakistan is a very balanced side in ODIs so i will give them an edge over India but one thing is for sure side who will bat second will win this game.

Posters won't blame Indian govt. for this?

Ind beating Pak and getting hammered in SF is the worst outcome. The leeches kohli rohit klrahul will then milk that win till 27 ODI WC. Rinse and repeat. God, how I wish these leeches are dropped forever. Tired of their entitlement and bs.

Pakistan didn’t demolish a second string South African team. In addition, they also beat Australia’s first choice team in the second ODI.

Ignorance is not always a bliss.
Pakistan looks more stable than India right now but they didn't win the second ODI vs full strength Aus, ODI mainstays like Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Carey were missing. It was still a strong side but Head is their main batsman and his absence was felt.

Full strength india would beat any team. With washed kohli and rohit pakistan should win.

If correct selections are made then india.

Pakistan will do well the whole year in a NY format but when it comes to facing India in a tournament, India always has an advantage. It will be 70-30 India for me...

Ind can't score more than 250 on batting pitch also.one of ftbs like Gill or iyer should really score big and win. otherwise no chance .bowling looks awful with out bumrah, Kuldeep.

Yep, without Bumrah and kuldeep, things are gonna be difficult for India to handle but they can beat Pakistan with their batting power.

I don't mind India getting crashed out and if complete overhaul of team happens.Rohit,Kohli,kl , iyer will happily prolong their career shamelessly and drown the team in 27wc.

India batting is not same anymore with Rohit and Kohli occupied top three positions.

India will win.

Pakistan have looked more stable , but I think Pakistan lack mental toughness in crucial moments. Things like missing line and length in bowling , giving extras , missing catches, not rotating the strike enough , playing lose shots out of frustration.

India mostly wins against Pakistan in crucial games because of disciplined bowling and fielding.

You are missing red ball and white ball cricket.
We had lost the last ODI series against Sri Lanka where our entire batting order failed badly.

That was the only series india has played post world cup 2023.

Indian T20 team is so strong compared to ODI team .

Indian OD Team is not that bad, India will make semis at least. After that in knockout , its matter of one game ,no one can predict.

Only if they can select the below squad assuming Rohit and Virat are playing .

Jaiswal
Rohit
Virat
Iyer
KL (i prefer Sanju or Pant)
Pandya
Nitish
Axar
Kuldeep
Bumrah/Arshdeep ( if bumrah is not fit)
Shami

Without Bumrah, and with a washed up Rohit and Kohli, I have basically very little expectations from my team.

Harsha has picked both Jadeja and Axar. And 4 spinners in total. We are screwed if we pick anything close to that.

Reddy can easily be picked ahead of Jadeja.
Currently ILT20 league happening in dubai and most of wickets are taken by Pacers .its maybe due to weather conditions

Spinners are averaging over 70 and no spinners are in the top 14 wicket-takers list

Still early day as only 2 matches have been played so far by each teams .

India and Pakistan will face off in a highly anticipated match on February 23, 2025, during the ICC Champions Trophy at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This encounter is part of a hybrid model tournament, with India playing all its matches in the UAE due to security concerns regarding travel to Pakistan. The match is expected to draw significant attention, continuing the storied rivalry between the two cricketing nations

Head to Head record of both teams in the ICC Champions Trophy

Lets clarify one thing.

Its not due to security concerns.

Its due to political concerns.

If it was down to security why are the other 7 teams coming.

Are there lives not important.???

The focus should be on Retaining the CT as it is more important than beating any one opposition.

Yeah 4 spinners on pitches where dew rules the second innings. It was looking odd as though he was hell bent on not picking nitish.i was thinking has he understood anyone insiders heart and left him out.

Spinners are overrated by ICT terribly. You only need 1 specialist spinner even in Indian conditions.

Rest all should offer significant batting ability.

Pakistan would have an upper hand this time because they are looking more balanced compared to India

Suresh Raina while speaking on a local sports channel:

"I think Pakistan has a better bowling attack. We both have left-arm fast bowlers, but the kind of passion they play with, and whenever they play in Dubai, they get the home advantage."

"Pakistan has played a lot of cricket in Dubai, and we have also lost a World Cup game there. But this scenario will be different because Rohit Sharma knows how crucial these matches with Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand are."

"Virat Kohli will come again and win it for India; his performance will be out of the box."

After recent events in indian cricket like no unity in the team , players are fighting for the power , coach & Captain have different opinion etc i don't think we are winning anything.

Some of players may underperform so Rohit can forced to retired after the champion trophy.

Pandya is sidelines by Rohit Sharma otherwise he would have been captain of T20 team Post World T20 and current VC of ODI team .

Pakistan to win this Epic encounter and India will most likely knockout from the tournament after group stage

If we lose against Pakistan, then I am afraid we will get knocked out as I don't us beating NZ. Though it will not be a bad thing if this debacle will lead to ouster of Rohit, Kela and Kohli.

Yes we will not win against Pakistan & NZ and likely to be knockout from group stage .

Rohit is destroying the team unity.

What he has done with pandya is absolutely selfish .he is taking the revenge because Mumbai Indian sacked him from the captaincy due to Pandya .

Maybe someone influencing Rohit?

It was leaked that Rohit wanted to retire after MCG test but a well wisher of his asked him not to. I think its the same well wisher who was going after Mark Boucher from her instagram when Rohit was sacked as MI captain.

I too prefer us getting ousted from first round.rohit after having an all time dismal series/season for a captian/ batsmen is not even thinking about retirement.he is trying to stall the team progress with out ounce of responsibility .same goes for kohli.both are free loaders and shameless.

I don't know but there is lots of things currently happening in indian cricket .

Most of us don't know but during BGT there was physical contact( Fight ) between two of players .

Indian team announcement PC was delayed for more than 2 hours Just because Gambhir and Rohit was not the same Page.

At the end of day , Rohit's choice of team was selected because Chief Selector favoured Rohit Sharma.GG was completely sidelines by both of them.

Bro , since its not news paper and u r not a verified account on twitter, can u pls list the names and issues if u know 😀. Something happened in selection for sure

There is more soul in graveyards in comparison than there is in Dubai cricket stadium. It's truly a soulless, character less, & frankly monstrosity of a venue / stadium to host this match. Please India have a change of heart, border par stadium bana lo, aadha India main, aadha Pak main ya boycott kar do Pak k sath khailna but don't play cricket with us in Dubai

Unfortunately it will be India now, after an out of the box selection by PCB 🤡s. Only Miracle can save PCT now

No, I don't know much about Pakistan team selection but i know about indian team Very well .

Rohit and Kohli are useless, so is jadeja. bumrah is injured and Shami has same fitness problem .

Just check pakistan team and playing 11 is very solid . don't take much stress about Faheem selection as he is not going to play anyway in This Short tournament.

What a batting lineup and all the players are inform.

Bowling is also great . spinners are not going to get much help in rhe Feb and early March due to low temperature and pakistan has abrar+ Agha/ Khushdil/ Saud to give combined 20 overs .

I don't know why Pakistan fan's are crying about team selection

This is great team .

We don't have even a single threatening spinner in contrast Indian team is laden with expert spinners.

Pakistan contest no extra significance as Gambhir plots India's Champions Trophy path

The India coach knows exactly what his team needs to do if they are to claim a third Champions Trophy title to their collection.

India coach Gautam Gambhir has played down the extra relevance of his side's contest against arch-rival Pakistan at the upcoming ICC Men's Champions Trophy by declaring each match at the tournament is of equal importance.

All eyes will be on Dubai on 23 February when India take on Pakistan at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, in a match that is sure to be pivotal to the fortunes of each side as they attempt to qualify for the knockout stages of the event.

While Gambhir knows the added emotional attachment associated with matches between India and Pakistan, the coach believes the clash set for Dubai is just one step his side must pass if they want to claim a third Champions Trophy title to the ones they won in 2002 and 2013.

"Look, we don't go to the Champions Trophy thinking that the 23rd is the most important game for us. I think five games, all the games are important," Gambhir told Star Sports at the annual BCCI awards night in Mumbai on Saturday.

"The mission to go to Dubai is to win the Champions Trophy, not only win one particular game. But yes, if that is one game in the middle of winning the Champions Trophy, we're going to try and take it as seriously as possible."

"And more importantly, I think when two countries, India and Pakistan, play against each other, obviously the emotions are really high, but ultimately the contest remains the same."

Just eight teams will battle it out for this year's Champions Trophy, with India and Pakistan joined by Bangladesh and New Zealand in a tricky Group A with just two teams progressing to the knockout stages of the event.

Gambhir noted the major difference when comparing the tournament to the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup and knows there is little margin for error during the event.

"Champions Trophy is a completely different challenge as compared to the 50-over World Cup because literally every game is a make-or-break, so you can't stop anywhere in this tournament," Gambhir noted.

"So hopefully we're going to start off really well, because ultimately, if you want to go on and win the competition, you have to win five games."

India have named an experienced 15-player squad for the tournament, with skipper Rohit Sharma joined by fellow big names Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja alongside the more youthful trio of Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Arshdeep Singh.

Gambhir knows it will take contributions from the entire squad for India to win the Champions Trophy and is backing his two most experienced players to step up and perform well.

Rohit and Kohli are two of the three suriviving members from India's successful Champions Trophy side that won the final against England at Edgbaston in 2013 and Gambhir thinks the duo can rise to the occasion once again.

"I think both Rohit and Virat, they add so much value to the dressing room. They add so much value to Indian cricket as well. They've got to play a massive role (in the Champions Trophy)," Gambhir added.

"And I've said it before as well, those guys are so hungry, they want to play for the country. They have the passion to play for the country and deliver for the country."

Rohit Sharma Breaks Silence On India's Preparation For ICC Champions Trophy, India-Pakistan Clash

With ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on the horizon, Indian cricket team is gearing up for another title challenge. Fans eagerly await the tournament, especially the 'mouth-watering' India-Pakistan clash in Dubai.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to begin on February 19, with Pakistan and Dubai hosting the tournament. Team India, under Rohit Sharma's captaincy, will play all its matches in Dubai and is considered a strong contender for the title.

On February 1, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Naman Awards were held in Mumbai, where Indian captain Rohit Sharma was in attendance.

Speaking at the event, he discussed Team India's preparation for the marquee event and shared his thoughts on the high-octane India vs Pakistan clash.

"Look, I think in the past two or three years, I've spoken a lot about that game (IND vs PAK). It's just a game for us. We will try and do what is required for any cricket team to do on that particular day," Rohit told Star Sports during the BCCI's annual Naman Awards.

"No special mentioning about, from our side at least, about that particular game. We just want to show up there and show up well," he added.

Reflecting on India's recent success, he added:

"We performed exceptionally well in the T20 World Cup 2024 and emerged as champions. Now, we are preparing for another big tournament. Every player is working on their game - some are competing in domestic cricket, while others are representing India on the international stage. When the time comes, we will be ready to take on the challenges."

I have already given India the two points..it will be tough for Pakistan to overcome them. Champions trophy will be a big victory for Pakistan they have respected the honour of their jawaans by moving the match to the UAE and will further honour them by delivering two points.

In Champions Trophy 🏆 India 🇮🇳 did better than Pakistan 🇵🇰 in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2006, 2013 and Pakistan 🇵🇰 did better than India 🇮🇳 in 2004, 2009 and 2017. 5-3 in Favour of India 🇮🇳

India-Pakistan Champions Trophy clash causes hotel fares to skyrocket in Dubai

With the ICC Champions Trophy just weeks away, all eyes are on the Pakistan vs. India match in Dubai, where hotel prices are rising and expected to double as the date approaches.

Dubai’s travel industry is preparing for a surge in flight and hotel bookings ahead of the highly anticipated India-Pakistan match on February 23.

Travel companies report a steady rise in demand, but expect a booking frenzy in the final stretch, a trend observed during previous high-profile cricket events.

Experts predict that as fans from India, Pakistan, and other cricket-loving nations finalize their travel plans, bookings will skyrocket, driving airfare prices up by 20 to 50 percent, with last-minute fares potentially doubling.

Key departure cities driving demand include Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad in India, along with Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad in Pakistan. Other cricket-loving markets such as the UK, Australia, and Saudi Arabia are also contributing to the rising demand.

Dubai’s hospitality sector is already feeling the impact, with hotels in high-demand areas like Deira, Downtown, and Dubai Marina reporting high occupancy rates.

Budget hotels are selling out quickly, while luxury properties on Palm Jumeirah and Sheikh Zayed Road are seeing increased premium bookings.

During past India-Pakistan matches, hotel prices surged by 25 to 50 percent, and in some cases, even tenfold. Short-term rentals and Airbnb listings are also seeing heightened demand as travelers seek alternatives.

Demand for flights and hotels typically spikes in the days leading up to an India-Pakistan match, with previous events like the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup seeing a 1,550-percent increase in accommodation searches in Ahmedabad. A similar last-minute surge is expected for Dubai as the match approaches.

With the expected travel surge, airlines may add extra flights or deploy larger aircraft. Travel agencies are preparing packages that bundle flights, hotels, and match tickets.

In previous tournaments, India-Dubai packages were priced around $2,500 (Dh9,175) for 4-star hotel stays, with similar trends expected for this match. Luxury offerings will include exclusive match-day screenings, themed menus, and entertainment.

As fares rise daily and hotels fill up fast, travel companies are urging fans to book sooner rather than later as waiting until the last moment will mean significantly higher prices and fewer options.

The next few weeks will be crucial for travelers looking to secure the best deals before the inevitable last-minute rush.

As Dubai prepares for the India-Pakistan clash, the coming weeks will be critical for cricket fans hoping to secure their spot at this historic event before prices soar and availability dwindles.

We always tend to dominate large chunks of the games but don't finish off with the regularity we should.

The killer instinct has been missing.

Hopefully Pakistan finish off the job professionally against the indians and more importantly retain the CT trophy at home.

Not the case with Ind vs Pak in ODI's, you can only say this about t20 matches.

Wc 23, Asia cup 23, wc 19 were all one sided matches.

I Still Hate Pakistan team for loosing 1999 World Cup Final they were absolute favourites and don’t know why they lost it. Inzamam was out for a wrong decision.

I was referring to Pakistan s matches against all teams not just india.

In Aus, SA etc.

What has 1999 , 2003 etc got to do with a game that is being played in 2025?

Pakistan have lost 5 consecutive ODIs against India and all were one sided thrashings. Could have been 6 if not for rain saving you guys in Kandy at the Asia cup group stage game. Bottom line is...Current set of Pakistani players just do not have the skills nor the mindset to even compete against India in longer formats. You guys can only beat us if we have a complete off day in all departments or if there's too much of a lottery with the conditions and toss.

Yes. Look at the results of the voting above. Very obvious that Pakistan are favourites.
Even Nikhil bro has also voted for Pakistan and rightly so . We are good team Only on paper but most of players are washed up

Only hope is Bumrah but he is likely out of champion trophy in few day's

I still cherish that knock by Shoaib Malik against India in the 2009 Champions Trophy. Those were the days yaar!

If you read the post between @jeeteshssaxena and me you would know.

Equally what has the last 5 ODIs got to do with a game being played in 2025?.

With Saim gone, match is 50-50. Otherwise it was in favour of Pakistan earlier.

Yep. Kohli, Shami, Jadeja all look finished
The world is in 2025 now. Pakistan literally has two walking wickets in Khushdil Shah and Faheem in their squad. Any player in Indian squad is better than these two.

What a dumb question!! Most of the players in the current setups for both teams have played those games and are hence much more indicative of the current trend than some random games played 2 decades ago.

This is like primary school logic.

Jaiswal is a far superior batter to Saim and he's going to sit out and so will Bumrah. Definitely went for 80-20 India to 55-45 India.

I haven't watched enough of Jaiswal to form an opinion. But how are you so confident that both Bumrah and Jaiswal will sit out?

Bumrah has back issues and is all set to miss the entirety of the Champions Trophy.

Jaiswal is going to sit out to accomodate specialist captain Rohit Sharma.

Good for us, because i think Jaiswal is the most talented Indian cricketer at the moment. Well that evens out the Saim Ayub blow. Hence 50-50 is a fair assessment.

What most players are you talking about.

Usman khan is yet to make his ODI debut, TT, KG, Saud, Salman Ali, Khushdil, Hasnain and Abrar have never played against india.

Some of these players haven't even hit double figures in their ODI careers.

I saw a stat somewhere where the entire Pakistan squad have a combined 560 odd games between them and hit and kohli have played more combined.

This is not even nursery school logic.

if Pakistan can't beat this side with 35 plus senior team they can never beat India once the young brigade take charge. This is their best chance.

Most of the players in the current setups for both teams have played those games and are hence much more indicative of the current trend than some random games played 2 decades ago.

Oh dear..I said "most" , sunny. Babar, Rizwan, Fakhar, Shaheen, Rauf etc have all played multiple ODIs against India.

And no you're wrong (for the 1000th time) - Saud Shakeel and Agha Salman did play against India..

Besides, my point is that - Last 5 games where India smashed pakistan comprehensively is more indicative of the teams' current strength than the games that were played in 1999 and 2003. And you're yet to counter that with anything substantial apart from embarassing yourselves with dumb logic

Good for us, because i think Jaiswal is the most talented Indian cricketer at the moment. Well that evens out the Saim Ayub blow. Hence 50-50 is a fair assessment.

Jaiswal and Bumrah missing is in whole another stratosphere to Saim Ayub missing. Not even remotely close lol.

KL Rahul playing for the side will offset every advantage you get. Anyway India's best ODI bowler ever Shami won't feature either. It will be mostly like 2022 wt20.

So you dont rate saim who won pak series in aus and sa but rate jaiswal higher who is yet to make his debut in odis tells me you are indian right.
