Between Multan and ISLU for me.

Karachi are dark horses.

Peshawar don’t have a bowling attack, Quetta are putting a lot of stock in a couple of players, and Lahore’s batting looks very weak, even if their bowling attack looks even stronger.

Islamabad
Munro,Stirling,Hales,Shadab Khan,Shaoib Maqsood,Azam Khan,Ashraf,Tom Curran,
Gohar,Hassan Ali,Zeeshan Zamir

Solid team they have batting till 10 and decent bowling line up.

Karachi Kings
Sharjeel,Wade, Vince, Malik,Haider Ali,Qasim Akram,Imad Wasim,Irfan Khan, Amir,Andrew Tye,Mir Hamza

Okay squad will hope Malik scores alot of runs not sure they will make the semi final with that bowling line up.

Lahore Qalandars
Fakhar,Shawaiz Irfan,Abdullah,Ghullam,
Billings,Sikandar Raza,Shane Dadswell, Wiese,Liam Dawson,Shaheen,Rauf,Zaman Khan

The batting looks slightly weeker without Brook but still a decent team with plenty of all rounders who can bat and bowl.

Multan Sultans
Rizwan,Rilee Rossouw,Masood,Khushdil Shah,Tim David,Kieron Pollard,Arafat Minhas,Ammad Butt,Usama Mir, Ihsanullah,
Dahani

Powerful batting line up they could chase anything but slightly inexperienced bowling line up plenty of all rounders though.

Peshawar Zalmi
Babar Azam,Saim Ayub,Harris,cadmore,
,Rutherford,Aziz,Aamir Jamal,Wahab,
Suifyan Muqeem,mujeeb,Richard Gleeson

If Harris and Saim play in the xi that will be very good for pakistan cricket.they have 2 mystery spinners in their squad.

Quetta Gladiators
Jason Roy,Ahsan Ali,Will Smeed,Sarfaraz Ahmed,Umar Akmal,Iftikhar Ahmed,Nawaz,
Odean Smith,Hasaranga,Naseem Shah,Hasnain,Aimal Khan

It will depend on how Naseem and Hasnain do.

Quetta look good but I feel LQ will retain their title.

I’m taking a punt here and going with Quetta just because of Iftikhar’s form

I've gone for MS this time around.

I think they and LQ will be the strongest teams.

Some excellent players this year!

Looking forward to this .

Its a tough call but im going for Islamabad United under Shadab.

Karachi have the weakest team this year

Not really

Sharjeel khan
James Vince
Haider Ali
Shoaib Malik
Qasim Akram
Mathew Wade
Imad Wasim
Aamer Yamin
Muhammad Amir
Mir Hamza
Imran Tahir

That’s a very good XI. Imran Tahir, Amir, Imad and Malik are a good core set of players

I feel their overseas batsmen are not as flashy as other teams but they are still reliable players. Particularly James Vince

Predicted Quetta XI

Jason Roy (is)
Abdul Wahid Bangalzai
Will Smeed (os)
Iftikhar Ahmed
Sarfaraz Ahmed
Umar Akmal
Mohammad Nawaz
Wanindu Hasaranga (os)
Naseem Shah
Muhammad Hasnain
Naveen ul Haq (os)

I would open with Roy and Umar, put Bangalzai at 6

Tim David is not in his crazy, devastating form anymore. Don’t think he will bail out MS as much this season the way he has done in the last two seasons

Predicted Quetta XI

Jason Roy (is)
Abdul Wahid Bangalzai
Will Smeed (os)
Iftikhar Ahmed
Sarfaraz Ahmed
Umar Akmal
Mohammad Nawaz
Wanindu Hasaranga (os)
Naseem Shah
Muhammad Hasnain
Naveen ul Haq (os)

I would open with Roy and Umar, put Bangalzai at 6

Naseem
Hasnain
Naveen
Hasaranga
Iftikhar
Nawaz

Probably the most well rounded attack in the tournament

Isn't vince not available for some games?
In the xi you picked only 3 overseas that shows how rubbish the recruitment was.

Abdul Wahid Bangalzai
Will Smeed (os)
Iftikhar Ahmed
Sarfaraz Ahmed
Umar Akmal

Wanindu Hasaranga (os)

Naveen ul Haq (os)

No point playing him at 6 either in the top 3 or no point playing him.

They have Aimal Khan who is also a emerging player.

By the only one I meant he is the notable one. Plus I think Sarfaraz was opening with him somewhere

Personally I think this guy is a total waste of time. He’s the wrong type of T20 top order player

True I would play Ahsan Ali atleast he can attack. Abdul Wahid isnt aggressive from what i have seen.

Only two strong teams in my opinion. Multan and Lahore who are far ahead. Quetta, Karachi, Peshawar all look weak. Peshawar is the weakest on paper, they are lucky to be getting Babar. Islamabad I think is just middle of the pack, though if I had to pick a team to surprise it would be Islamabad. Have a feeling Lahore will win it though, I think they are the strongest.

Lahore are back to business as usual from today’s match it seems. Last PSL was won due to Rashid Khan, Harry Brook and Wiese.

Early days but Sultans look a cut above the rest despite players like Shan struggling for form.

Team of the tournament so far:

1. Rizwan
2. Guptil
3. Russouw
4. Cadmore
5. Malik
6. Imad
7. Pollard (maybe?)
8. Usama Mir
9. Abbas Afridi
10. Akif Javed
11. Ihsanullah

Multan have been incredible, and they still have Tim David to come and Josh Little hasn’t even played yet!! I know that Roussow and Ihsanullah have got most of the plaudits, but I’ve been thrilled by Usama Mir’s resurgence. Rizwan has also clearly been the best captain.

ISLU can be good, but they need Shadab to come into form for the balance of their side. Also, it’s important that Zeeshan Zameer starts playing soon, because their attack lacks a spearhead.

PZ have shown glimpses of excellence, but their bowling is atrocious. Aamir Jamal needs to come into the side and Mujeeb can’t come soon enough. Babar also needs to bat at 3.

QG, if they can sort out their batting order, are going to be Multan’s real challengers. A very good bowling attack where Aimal Khan and Hasaranga haven’t even featured yet! Ifti needs to bat higher, Omair Bin Youssuf and Will Smeed need to play 100%.

LQ still have a great bowling attack (had an off day today) with Rashid Khan still to come. However, their current batting strategy is Fakhar Zaman and InshAllah. Last year it was Fakhar, Harry Brook and InshAllah. So, weaker this year.

Karachi are being carried by Imad’s performances and being held back by his captaincy. Any team with Aamir Yamin as one of its main 5 bowlers is going to struggle, especially on true wickets. Haider is also too much of a lottery to be dependable. Aamir is still good, but he’s not the spearhead he used to be. They need to use Qasim and Faisal Akram better.

Usama Mir has been the key for Multan he has taken key wickets and kept the run rate down.

In his latest YouTube offering, Saj speaks about the good, the bad and the ugly so far of PSL 8. Who is doing well, who's struggling, the players who have impressed and what could be better.

Islamabad United's form is ominous for other sides including Multan Sultans. Could this be the year Islamabad win their 3rd title?

After Match 14

Points table after Karachi's 66-run win over Multan offers interesting possibilities

That win was a huge statement from LQ, they're a very solid all-round unit.

Roll of the dice for the top 4. Ideally, it should be Lahore, but in T20, it is not always THE best team that wins.

How has Qalandars just given us a totally new player in Abdullah Shafique

I can’t believe my eyes

This is the attitude era version of Shafique shaz619

He has more of a power game than Babar but still he isn't an explosive player.Told you He should have been in the xi for Lohare from the start.

This version of Shafique any day of the week

This is like Gohan becoming Super Saiyan for the first time before his fight against Cell. Revolutionary change in approach

LQ and MS look the standout teams at the moment.

Overall though, the strongest team and best balanced team looks like Qalandars especially with Billings and Abdullah Shafique added to the batting unit.

100 % should be in the odi team as he can easily fit the number 4 position.

Karachi flying high with confidence now so Multan now feeling the heat as well.

Lahore looking stronger and stronger by the day. Both their batting and their bowling have won them games

With the finals in Lahore, I just hope somebody, anybody can give them a game. Because it really seems like a procession.

Who knows, maybe Karachi will do them again in Lahore this year.

Looks very one-sided at the moment with LQ way ahead of the other teams in terms of strength in depth, captaincy and tactics.

Maybe they might be tested if they pick up injuries and teams bat first and put their batters under pressure when they are chasing.

It’s been very disappointing from both QG and KK. In a six team league, you just can’t have two terrible teams. It kills the competitiveness of the tournament.

At the very least, atleast today was competitive.

I think what guarantees Lahore success as well is that the finals will be Lahore. Would like to see somebody else do it, like a PZ.

Too easy for Islamabad United.

It's a solid team. Foundation led by Misbah and it continues to remain the champions till today.

LQ also has a chance because of their bowling.

The 4 play-off sides have been obvious for a while now.

Both teams lost their last encounters which forced them into a difficult position ahead of the playoffs.

Karachi, who managed only two wins out of eight, will be looking to win next two games in the tournament.

Whereas, Quetta have a slightly better chance of qualification into the next round than Karachi. They will play four matches including today's contest against Karachi. If they win all four, their chances to qualify for playoffs will be opened.
