King Kohli is the superstar of this generation and the best batsman of this era too

smith is better than him in tests but in all formats combined he isn't even close

imo the closest competitor is root. he is also a sublime batsman in all formats but he doesn't seem to have the commitment and the dedication of kohli even though i feel that he is more talented. probably the most natural batsman of this era.

In tests Smith and maybe Root ATG potential in ODIs Kohli and AB ATG potential.

Amla is an ATG test batsmen.

AB and Kohli are ATGs in ODIs.Root ATG potential.

Smith will become an ATG in tests when he retires. Others can also become ATG in test too.

All of them are great batsmen after Sanga, don't get the question.

If you mean greatest from all available its Kholi from now, but they're all still playing, someone like AB can overtake Kholi if he wins Saffers a world cup (ODI)

For me the most talented will always be Umar Akmal.

Amla, Sangakkara, Younis and ABD are the ATG batsmen from the current generation. Cook, Clarke, KP, Mahela, Misbah and Ross Taylor were unable to get there.

Let's see how Root, Smith, Kane, Kohli, Babar and de Kock do.

For me the most talented will always be Umar Akmal...

Especially when it comes to creating issues for himself, no questions asked, he is sublimely foolish in that regard, GOAT if you must!

Fixed :-)

Amla has a valid argument to be considered as one here.AB too as I don't see formats specified. So combining formats, it's these two.

Fab four all have potential and are up there but since you specified next great then I would say AB or Amla.

Amla isn't an ATG batsman, he averages below 50, which is unacceptable from an ATG in this so called batting friendly era. There is no excuse for amla to be averaging below 50, there is only 1 ATG pace bowler in the world today and he plays for his team but he still fails to average above 50.
