Why is Pakistan becoming liberal while other countries are tilting towards the right-wing?

I'm hearing a lot about secularism and that it's good and all. But I'm seeing countries turning to the Right wing than the liberal parties.

Conservatives won the election in the UK yesterday and that showed that the idea of liberalism and secularism is not wanted in the UK. Then why do these countries try to preach others about secularism?

I get that they don't make their laws based on religion but what was Brexit all about?
Laymen voted Leave in the referendum because they thought that would limit the amount of immigrants that come in the country. Doesn't sound very liberal to me? It rather shows that the idea of multi-culturalism is dying in the UK.

Pakistan is an Islamic state, whether or not Quaid-e-Azam wanted it to be or not is irrelevant now. So why do we get lectured from the West and India on how we treat our minorities and why we have blasphemy laws?
When these two regions are turning into what they don't want us to be. People like Katie Hopkins and Tommy Robinson are gaining a lot of support and it's reflecting through the voting results.

I agree that the blasphemy laws very strict and probably not needed but no one has ever been executed through it and it'll be extremely difficult to revoke them considering how strong our Far-Right is. But that's not the point of discussion for this thread.

The point of this thread is to discuss:
Why's Pakistan becoming liberal, while other countries are tilting towards the Right-Wing, just to be politically correct?

Pakistan isn't that liberal tbh.
But they're definitely doing better than Mr.Modi and his ******. At least Imran Khan doesn't differentiate between Hindus and Muslims.

No your constitution does that Modi and Imran will die what after them?

In the UK we don't live in a liberal society, we live in a tolerant society. This means we do not accept other views/culture, we mere tolerate them.

Modi will ensure that your constitution will do that too soon

I thought the same before Swashbuckler corrected me.

So wait it out this forum has been here for long we will know in 10 years..

To restore balance, it’s human nature taking its course.

The other countries/regions you’re thinking of outside of UK would be the US ofc and certain parts of West Europe. These places have been liberal for a long time and even became too left wing at certain times falling into the whole PC culture, the people got fed up and are now going the other way. Pendulum will swing right back for them when they have had enough of right wing ideology as well.

Pakistan had the opposite case where it has been ruled by right wing ideology for the last 19 years or so (AT LEAST), and once again, people have had enough and so being liberal is the current go to flavor.

Lol Pakistanis think they are liberal they dont even know what a liberal is everyone calls people they dont like liberals because it's in right now. If you knew what being a liberal was you wouldn't say it is a bad thing, Islam was a liberal religion for it's time.

LOL at Pakistan getting liberal.

Pakistan might be the most liberal country in the world if you are comparing it to Saudi, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iran etc etc you get the gist.

If you compare it to even liberal Muslim countries like Malaysia, Indonesia or Turkey we are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind.

I'm saying that we're turning liberal not that we already are while the other countries are tilting towards the right-wing, we completely despise our right wing parties.
