Lol, probably the most undeserving MOTM award I have seen.

Bowled a couple of extra overs got, Bumrahs wicket (Bumrah threw it away) . Did nothing significant with the bat.
Well I don’t think England would have won the game without him. It’s about what he gets out of other people as much as his own batting and bowling. Like Mike Brearley, though Stokes is clearly a much more capable and valuable player than Brearley was.

Stokes could lose 5 Test series vs India and the ECB wouldn’t give a flying fig.

This is India’s aukaat. However, if England suffer a humiliating whitewash/defeat down under in the upcoming Ashes, then you can bet Stokes will resign before he is sacked as captain. Look it up, the majority of English Test captains resign/sacked after an Ashes series.

Indians, don't think for a minute the England give a sh1t about you, they don't and never will.

To England, its Test cricket, and Australia is the final frontier for any English cricketer who wants to conquer the game.

Yes England will forever be debted to Stokes for winning the Ashes in Australia. Last 3 tours when Stokes played, the result was either 0-4 or 0-5. Wonder what was Stokes doing all this while.
Are you saying that he contributed to the loses of that tour.

No, he didn’t contributed to loss. Afterall, he was hitting hundreds and taking 5-fers for fun while his team was poor .

Stokes averages 41 with bowl and 28 with bat. Missed the 2017 tour due to his indisciplinary act and getting into unnecessary brawl off the field. Yes, being a main player, he contributed to the losses too.

Why did they drew a test in Ashes then? They should have lost it. They drew in other places too.
Rain intervened bro. They looked well set to win it. That is probably the only drawn match in Stokes' captaincy i think?
If rain washes out an entire day in the next 2 tests, then a draw can occur as well. I don't know what the forecast of next 2 tests look like.

A bit strong, but essentially true.

135 to keep the Ashes alive average off 55 in 2019,155 in 2023.

Shocking should have scored 300+ in each Innings.

Bolding the part won’t mean you post incorrect information.

I clearly mentioned Ashes in Australia and then you quoted me. Everyone is aware of his 135 at home vs Australia. :inti

Stokes is not going anywhere. WHy would Engalnd take a risk of sacking him when Ashes is nearby. Stokes is doing just ok ok atm.

It should the end of his captaincy whether England win or lose the series.

I think Stokes should be dropped. :inti

I take back my comment. :inti

After how Stokes lead and performed in 3rd Test, I think he should continue. He showed great leadership.

But, he needs to get his batting form back.

At home, he is good but he needs to perform more away. He has only performed well in South Africa away from home but failed in Australia, India, New Zealand and Pakistan. He doesn’t have to perform everywhere but Ashes in Australia this year can certainly uplift his legacy given he has couple of truly memorable performances with bat already in his test career and a highly successful record as a captain.

stokes is not having a good time with the bat and ball but his team is winning atm. Brandon would want him to continue

Man of the match in the last match, contributing with Bat, Ball and in the field.

5 wickets already here.

3rd innings in a row he is out bowling a 'prime' Archer despite being 'finished'.

More egg on the face of @Mamoon. Tell us more about how Archer is the best bowler in the world and Stokes has been finished for 3 years.....

24 overs, 5-72 is a herculean effort by him when you consider his history of injuries and how much he has been discouraged from bowling long spells. He's a true warrior. No all-rounder in the world quite like him.

Great news for Australia if part-time batsman and part-time bowler Stokes is on the plane to Australia for the Ashes.

I don’t want to be rude but as of now that seems a rather silly remark in the light of his current performances as bowler and captain.

He’s salty because he said Archer is the best bowler in the world for 6 years now and Stokes has outperformed him in his weakest suits when he kept harping on about how Ben stokes is finished as a cricketer.

It must be embarrassing to be so consistently wrong.

@Romali_rotti

Bro, Gill avg has dropped to 88, Jamie Smith still avg 103 this series. How does it feel to know that Jamie smith is the highest avg batsmen this series :vk2

Gill is overrated. I don't rate him...
I do rate FTB's BTW. I understand the criticism but in cricket you are bound to get a flat track eventually or an entire series worth.

It is an inevitability if your career is 5+ years.

A FTB will always outbat anyone else in such tracks. We saw that from gill in test 1 and 2 and have seen it from Brooks as well this series.

I had huge expectation for Gill after his Brisbane 90 and also watching him live at the G during boxing day match but looks like he was a fluke...
